trousers Posted 25 November, 2011 Share Posted 25 November, 2011 Comment From Mike fom Thailand Pompey don't have just one owner, they have 3, so if the worst were to happen it would not be difficult to transfer his shareholding to the other directors. Channon's Sideburns Posted 25 November, 2011 Share Posted 25 November, 2011 BOOM!!!!! Mark Acheson, deputy editor: Sorry for lull.. have just had this from reporter Rory McKeown: Pompey joint owner Roman Dubov today spoke of his concerns for the future as he colleague Vladimir Antonov prepared to face an extradition hearing.Mr Dubov spoke briefly to The News outside the City of Westminster magistrates court, saying: ‘I am trying to save the business and help a lot of people in employment.’ He appeared to be referring to, but did not specifically name, Convers Sports Initiatives, which bought Pompey earlier this year. Later, he told a journalist from a Lithuanian paper: ‘Antonov’s arrest - we are all very much affected and are trying to save the business.’ Antonov was arrested in London yesterday after a European arrest warrant was issued by the Lithuanian authorities after the collapse of the Snoras bank, in which he is a major shareholder. rallyboy Posted 25 November, 2011 Share Posted 25 November, 2011 I raise my hat to the comedians who have hijacked the News site. Several of those postings were beautifully crafted, just enough spelling misteaks to be plausible, plenty of delusion to back that up. The bestest! And if Dubov is seriously referring to Convers being in big trouble then that is a proper bombshell. I'd be surprised if he can't find some dodgy funding but that doesn't sound very encouraging.... Why is it a bombshell? Not just about funding, we nailed that - remember the cached link from 2 days ago CSI is linked to Convers Group which in their own words Had Control of Snoras Bank. Roman is a Director. So a more accurate reading of his statement is that he is trying to protect HIS ass and keep himself employed. Let's face it, the lease payments on posh motors are so high these days - Hey Roman - no worries mate - we can point you towards a payday loan company And also, Roman, don't worry me old mucka, I recall you have lots of very highly placed Russian Oliagarch friends, property Assets, contacts in the Railways, friends in Australia. I'm sure they are all russian to give you public pledges of support right now

rallyboy Posted 25 November, 2011 Share Posted 25 November, 2011 it's a bombshell that a senior management member should bang the nails into his own corporate coffin Phil - in fact it's Ratner-esque. Convers chancing of getting legitimate funding now that Dubov has announced that they are in big trouble? Zero. And if Convers is in big trouble today, it would confirm the concern that pompey has as suspected, been kept afloat by criminal funding. If the arrest of a man for fraud and the seizing of his criminally-obtained wealth has an immediate knock on effect for a football club, the connection is crystal clear - and damning, to the league, those that welcomed them, and to those that stood by and did nothing. Is it wrong to feel sorry for some of their fans? (Not the gobby arrogant deluded ones)
angelman Posted 25 November, 2011 Share Posted 25 November, 2011 Would I be right in thinking that Antonov avoiding extradition is somewhere between zero and nil? Governments and financial authorities are really, really trying to crack down on money laundering and the judiciary doesn't look upon "potential" launderers any more favourably. I don't think not being able to get a fair trial nor human rights abuses is going to work this time.

If I remember correctly the situation with Southampton going into administration was the parent company (owner) was going into administration rather than the club, however they still got deducted points etc. If CSI folds then we will struggle too...

Our situation was of course that the parent company (Southampton Leisure Holdings) was inexorably connected to Southampton FC so the insolvency of the club caused it. They are insolvent... have to be because of their wages/income descrepancies and are now proped up by a company that in itself is proped up by an owner who has a black hole of 1bn euros hanging over him. So as an asset of the f**ked companies above the Skates may surely be liable to be sold off in whatever form possible to raise something to try and plug the vacuum above. Am I about right here?
