JackFrost Posted 17 September, 2011 Share Posted 17 September, 2011 you just know they will have a new manager in place a week before we play them... I don't think they can afford to sack him Besides I haven't seen anyone questioning Cotterill's management yet. Crab Lungs Posted 17 September, 2011 Share Posted 17 September, 2011 (edited) He's on... Doesn't know why they were lethargic, sending off harsh "no more than a booking - I am beginning to feel like Kenny Dalglish over the last month, any mistake we're getting burnt and punished for". Still had a go at 10 men. Luck is deserting us. Criticising his own players now, saying they should have known what would happen as they were prepared. Getting spiky with interviewer now "that's a silly question" when Herdman had the temerity to say "Is it fair to say Adriano Basso had a quiet day?". Responds with "How many saves did Jamie have to make?". Interviewer named good chance for Hull. "What's your point?" was the response from Cotterill. Now he's getting blunt with Herdman about injury to Dave Kitson and talk of emergency loan. He totally contradicted himself by saying they didn't have enough cutting edge and then got sh1tty when the interviewer asked about their lack of efforts on goal, lolz. Crab Lungs Posted 17 September, 2011 Share Posted 17 September, 2011 Any more info on what happened with the players kicking off after the game? It wasn't massive, Norris/Ben-Haim handbags/ill-feeling and someone else laying into Fuctacs. Jason Pearce apparently ignored Clotterill at the end of the game, rofl. eurosaint Posted 17 September, 2011 Share Posted 17 September, 2011 Clot's answers in advance : Red card = bent ref ! Goal against = offside/foul ! Overall play = we wos better team ! Teams above = about to 'fizzle' out ! Zero shots on target = somebody must have shifted the goalposts !! Message to the Russkie Mafia bays - please don't sack him, we just love him, we do !!!! St. Neil Posted 17 September, 2011 Share Posted 17 September, 2011 Cotterill said: “I was disappointed with the sending off. I thought that was a bit harsh. Luke got a bit of a nudge before he went in and clipped the lad on the shin, but it’s not studs up and the lad got straight up afterwards and shook hands with him. “It’s maybe a booking, but it’s not a straight red. The referee was very quick with the red card. “We seem to be getting punished for everything at the moment. But we have to learn from this, because we can’t let it keep happening with the size of our squad.” Pompey will be hoping to have Dave Kitson available for Blackpool’s visit on Saturday. He pulled out of the trip to Hull with sore ribs. Sore ribs eh must be from all the laughing at Cotterills post match interviews.
Minsk Posted 17 September, 2011 Share Posted 17 September, 2011 A draw between Coventry and Ipswich tomorrow will see Poopy only 2 places (and, of course, still the 1 point) above the relegation zone, with the team immediately below them (Burnley) having a game in hand. dubai_phil Posted 17 September, 2011 Share Posted 17 September, 2011 Big test coming up for CSI. Snottrill clearly has to go. So the big question, will it be a dent in their budget for the year or the brakes on his company car failing as they were filled with cement? We moaned about the split between NC & AP, but NC came out of that by finding us NA. Clearly he had some help with that, good experienced footballing people with a lot of contacts who knew the type of manager they needed for their vision. Time to sit back and see what CSI do, who their friends are, old school or new school. Can they pay him off AND afford a new big bucks name. No idea what'll happen, but I know it's gonna be fun to watch

brightspark Posted 17 September, 2011 Share Posted 17 September, 2011 Clotterrill is a complete tit in that interview, tediously predictable responses... particularly the red card. I'm looking forward to seeing that one in the highlights - no doubt Varney received "a little nudge before" and that he "just clipped him". Funny how no players rush to the ref in protest but poor Steve can't see sense, and has a brain the size of his hairy, chavvy belly button. rallyboy Posted 18 September, 2011 Share Posted 18 September, 2011 I have deluded skate mates who tell me we are winning because no one has seen us play and we will fade away when we get found out - presumably they don't see highlights in Nottingham or Birmingham.... If the few knew that we haven't even been in top gear yet they would be even more worried. None of them seem ready to accept we have built a better side than them, on less money, better coached, and are tonight top of the table on merit. Is it to much to expect a reality check to the east and some acceptance that we are the only team in Hampshire at the moment? Sometimes you just have to accept reality - don't you? I think it's seven months too early to get excited about the whole season, but we have made a decent start towards a top ten finish - and that 12 point gap could take 10 games and a massive change in fortunes to turnaround. I see no way back for pompey, but we should campaign to keep Cotterill in charge as long as possible - unless the prossie-bothering relegation specialist is about. We still owe him - he keeps getting sacked before we can get at him.

holepuncture Posted 19 September, 2011 Share Posted 19 September, 2011 Apparently, the two Russians are going to be interviewed on South Today tonight. Fantastic news! It will be great to hear of all the revolutionary changes going on down at nottarf, such as fixing the toilets, patching up the leaky roof etc... It will also be good to hear from the Russian Mafias mouths that the charities have NOT, and will NOT be paid... The south today best tread carefully though, they dont want the Russian mafia breathing down there necks, it is clear to see the effect it is having on poor old clotteril these days... the mans losing his marbles, shaking under fear of his life, wondering when they will come and pay him a visit... Any tough questions will be dodged by the simple diversion tatic of the russians calmly placing there revolvers on the table, and large men standing in front of all exit points... It would be nice if they can detail the five year plan they have mentioned, unless all they have to say is 'no new stadium for five years'... a vote of confidence for stevie clotters? or the black spot? will they acknowledge the greatest fans on earth? the magnificent 8k ST holders who pay for TBH outright? Or the fabulous 200 that made the trip to Hull on the weekend to see another red card performance? Im struggling to think of anything positive they can say other than fan-pandering b*llocks and PR guff, if they can grasp the English language that is... rallyboy Posted 19 September, 2011 Share Posted 19 September, 2011 joking aside, South Today will now have loads of pompey fans contacting them with questions to put to the owners so if it does turn into a fluffy little PR event that is well out of order. They should be asking serious questions about the small creditors, the CVA, the state of the team, the ground etc. These guys have had months to come up with solutions, they should now properly update their customers, even if there are only a handful of them. Vague promises about being confident of 'trying to buy' a bit of land and the standard stuff about an academy would make the interview a little like a Cotterill league campaign - mostly pointless. Even if it wasn't you can bet your bottom dollar that all questions would have been vetted prior to going on air. There is far too much muck to rake over and the new owners will not want to put anything but a positive light on the club, so there is no way the questions would be 'open house'. Shouldn't really pre-judge the owners - it will be interesting to hear what they have to say. Hopefully we (and the Pompey fans) will actually find out what their intended plans for the club are. It appears to have been a very long time from taking charge to responding to the fans and the media in general - should be interesting.
