We had over 28k for a friendly with Bayern Munich. Your support is sh*t and you know it.

way more than 28k...i was let in paying on the night and being let in and having to sit on the steps 'cause no seats available.

skates supports shiit and they know it just scared to admit it.

certainly did, he straightened his leg and followed through.

The sort of occasion when dim commentators say 'he got the ball' or 'it was an accidental clash'.

Maybe he was trying to improve Varney's looks - or his ability to take penalties?

Either way it must have been nice to see far less empty seats in the old stadium, pity the new owners and the visit of Chelsea wasn't sufficient to sell out.

Champagne moment?

Must have been when £36K a week outcast and traitor Tal Ben Haim popped up to score the winner.

kin' hell, that's a helluva "knock" then

I have a mate, who is usually spot on with all things Saints (He is a mate of one of the players) who has been banging on for over two weeks that Lawerence is on is way to St. Mary's. If it wasn't him, I would dismiss it out of hand, but may be ......just may be :) ;)

Swap deal for Puncheon. That would be a cracker.

(Although he'd probably fit in down there and be useful)

I can't see why Pompey would want to let Lawrence go. Didn't he do well for them last season? With this new take over the wages can't be an issue can they? I doubt we are going to be offering 20k Ish a week or what ever he is supposed to be on so can't see it happening.

Can see puncheon going there though and with a bit of luck he will turn out the same as he has for all the other clubs. Starts well then fades away to be no more than an expense.

Wonder if they think they will be getting around 19k for their first home game of the season?

That'd be a good signing... he looks better in red 'n' white too. :D

Another funny quote from a Pompey forum:

Where do they get their info from? Is one of us drip feeding them incredibly stupid things to say? It only cost 7 mil for us to get a squad together and get some training ground issues sorted. It will no doubt cost more to get the rest of the training ground sorted and some more on topping up our squad but how much more would they have to spend to fill thier squad and actually buy a training ground?

Do they just not think about anything they say?

Lawrence was possibly their best player last season. When he got injured their run of wins stopped. I'd also be surprised if he moved to another Championship side.

If they have had a re-think on their wage structure then there are a few players above Lawrence that I would of thought they would be trying to ship out. But then like the others why would a player want to move if he is getting paid more than he would elsewhere? Would many championship teams pay 20k per week for a player of that standard? Sven's mob seem to be the main people splashing the cash but cant think of any others right now? Even lower end prem would think hard about that outlay I think.

yes Mack, what with all of our mounting debts and ownership problems we might have to play in skins this season.

After all we could only afford one stripe last year.

Bit odd when higher than league games. Was there loads of Chelsea fans, or do lots of your fans support Chelsea too?

I couldn't be bothered with a friendly like that myself.

They brought about 3000. To be fair, I suspect we'll do well to match that once the league gets going as it was a cheap game at £15 a pop....

Do you think the numbers have dropped cause of the mess over the last so many years or cause of the league your in? Regularly getting gates of around 15k (home support) can't be enough to fund anything spectacular which puts back to wondering what the new owners think they can get out of it all?

I think our markus's intentions were more of a play thing to buy us but with an end vision of at least getting his money back should he want to walk away.

Just makes me wonder what the ruskies think the future is?

I'd heard that Chelsea's allocation was 4000 and that was sold out. That was reported by Talksport, so probably completely made up!

Ah, but how many were in the home end?

Well plenty of additional Chelsea fans by the sounds of it!

It's "quality over quantity" dontcha know?

And when all those £30k-per-week Premiership loanees start piling in in a few weeks all will be fine.

The murky past, just won't go away. Good luck with getting anything out of midland.

Only the real sceptics, would think he wasn't injured. I wonder what sort of transfer fee he would command.

Has the penny finally dropped or did clotterill blow his load on varney, norriss etc.

There is still plenty of time for them to add another couple of midfielders and a striker before the season starts and then top up by the end of August or end of the loan window in September.
