TBF I think a lot of the abuse directed towards some of the pompey fans on here is uncalled for, although Corp Ho in particular does dish it out and inevitably takes a lot of it, whether through attitude and/or certain comments.

 

When attempted justifications have perceived to be completely wide of the mark it's been responded to with abuse, which we could do without.

 

(Sorry, it sounds like I'm looking for a part-time moderator job on here) ;)

 

Quite agree really - personally I tend to shy away from contributing to this thread now as I do think that some people have taken it way too far and many are just purely straw clutching. People continually harp on about the length of this thread - but the majority is probably just 'hot air' with little substance, much is abuse thrown backwards and forward (done lots of that myself) - and there is probably a minute amount of fact, for those that can be bothered to actually substantiate it.

 

I have no problem with pfc123's contribution, ok he sees a totally different perspective than most of us, but then, what do you expect. He argues and debates intelligently and even appreciates a bit of banter now and then. Corp on the other hand - I have little time for. Mainly because he appears to be constantly backtracking and trying to explain that what he said was not what he meant, or (as appears recently) he just lies. I actually feel quite sorry for the other blue posters on here who have to try to contend with him and sometimes justify his bollux.

 

But, as I say, I think many of us are expecting some sort of 'big bang' that is never going to happen - they will be around for many years to come, and I for one (yikes) am quite glad about that.

 

Yes I want to rub their noses in it, yes I want to scream in their faces, yes I want to hurl some (friendly) abuse - but only after we have beaten them twice and finished above them next season.

personally I don't go for chucking hefty abuse about - unless it's dished out with humour or aimed at people who have started it.

To come on here with arrogant claims that cannot be supported or new versions of history invites criticism, and that's when some people let rip.

 

Some of the points made recently have asked to be questioned, and the skate posters don't like it when valid points are made.

We already have enough for the first XI plus a full subs bench. Something you fishy fiddlers couldn't do on numerous occasions last year. He'll be there for the pay check and the football creditor status when you mugs implode again.

 

Anyway in other (sort of related) news, Plymouth are trying hard to reduce their outgoings because of Administration. Now, I wonder who else on the South Coast should have done that.....?

Sorry if this has been covered already but too many pages to scroll through. Anyway I gather Harry f'sure Redflap is missing the Spurs pre season tour as he is due in court on Monday. Storrie and Mandy have been in court for the past two weeks but there has been a press embargo so nothing reported (again I may have missed). More s*it heading down the M27 toward the fishy blue few?

Halford was on £15K a week last season, no doubt he's taken a big cut to fit into their wagecap agreed under the financial plan approved by the FL - all in return for the golden share.....

Like the previous financial report, not worth the paper it was printed on.

 

But then again even Storrie looks prudent compared with Leicester City.

Did I miss them win the Euromillions three consecutive times?

They have lost money every season for five years so their debt is escalating, last season their wages were 89% of turnover, yet they are now going on a mental shopping spree.

 

We cannot compete with their transfer policy, and I wouldn't want us to.

Call me old fashioned but I'd rather we kept the club stable and didn't go up than gamble the lot again.

In fact the only good thing is that if they wanted to buy anyone off us their bonkers buying spree is upping the value of our squad.

Mills for £5M??

From their trading the likes of Fonte and Lambert are now worth £10M each - Lallana would be about £45M!

 

Without promotion, Leicester are 18 months from a return into administration.

That's a bit of pressure on someone in a Wembley playoff game in May.

Poopey should be able to fill that vacant position for head of Corporate Communications & Media Management at long last. Some experienced people now available with great CV's up in Wapping, of course, only a select few would have the right credentials & experience for the job.

You didn't exactly rip league 1 apart with that squad. I suspect we will sign another 6-8 players including a few loans so not sure what the squad will look like on August 6th

 

I dunno what to make of these russians, I don't think we will know what their motive really is until we get to a point where money has to be handed over for the CVA and whether they default on it, is that April next year? I have not really been following it all as whilst chainrai was in charge I refused to go or put any money into the club. Whilst I don't trust this new lot entirely they are at least investing money (in a loose sense of the word lol ) in the squad ( ok I know they don't have much choice in that one) and training ground and I hope they honour the CVA and ensure those who are due money get it, even if that means the club has to suffer playing staff wise in the future. I'd rather us do it right than go down the gaydamak route again.

Yep both squads will change for sure.... I don't think we will keep Chamberlain, but who knows.

 

As it stands today, I would actually give your squad the upper hand, but on their day our squad will give anyone a game..... Even Man u as we proved, it just depends on how consistent we can be and how much cash Nicola throws at it.

The primary target this season is to exorcise the demons from fratton park five years ago..... That's a long time to not sleep properly ;)

You just click on the number of posts referring to this thread in the lounge and it breaks them down into how many users have posted how many posts.

 

As for them getting away with it, I've maintained for a long time that there is absolutely no way HMRC can have them wound up because the courts won't. In these times, as they are an English football club in the top 3-4 divisions it means they are above the law.

 

The interesting part is the long term aim of Chainrai. It's evident that he is still running the show to a large extent. They will only be liquidated if he or the Russians want to liquidate them, having got anything of value into their back pockets, which will take years.

 

The next short chapter is the result of the storrie tax case but this is merely a token gesture to the great man whose financial lunacy has caused so much amusement over here. Things will start to get interesting when the CVA is supposed to get paid and whether they can get away with not having to pay any of it on a technicality. Sure the creditors can apply to the courts to have them wound up but whichever judge presides over the case will always rule in Pompey's favour. There's too much money and politics in the game for this not to happen.

 

But like I keep saying, it's the debts that they continue to rack up that will always keep them in this hole and stop anyone credible from ploughing money into the club and ultimately saving them. I certainly don't think two facebook-broadcasting, mega-rich Russians with ties to the Mafia and with previous of dodgy financial dealings are these people. They've merely hopped on to the ride.

...and,do they still owe them money, I seem to remember they were owed something. It would be a laugh, if the money spent on 'upgrading' facilities there, was in fact, them paying their bill at last.
