And all of that done in less than 1/7 of the time it's taken for Duke Nukem Forever to be released.

Technically as we start on 1 and not 0 I managed to get it but I'm not fussy ;)

40000 posts in and they've just been taken over by the Russian Mafia. This is going to run and run and run, probably until the bubble of English football finally goes pop.

It starts on 0 before the thread is started. Post #1 is the first post, and adds up to 1 post. Post #10 is the tenth post, and adds up to 10 posts. Post #40,000 is the fourty thousandth post, and adds up to 40,000 posts.

Yours was the 40,000 reply though.

Journalist just been on Talksport - says Birmingham have been in contact with Pompey - didn't catch who is was.

Journo went on about what a good job Clotterill did last season starting with only 12 players, Sam Matterface (who's a Pompey fan) just commented that well they've only got 8 now!

Portsmouth fans really must be some of the thickest in the country. Seriously.

There's one guy on Twitter saying how he can't wait to draw Aldershot in the Carling Cup so they can hand out a thrashing to Kevin Dillon.

Kevin Dillon left the club months ago. Plus, Aldershot would probably beat them anyway.

Dear me...

Nope he is signing tomorrow. Confirmed by Jordan Cross. Little disappointed TBH.

Some of their fans are disappointed with the signing. Just how out of touch are those morons? They're lucky they can sign anyone, but they still seem to expect the best.

here's a new excuse for delays in getting things done, Mr C talking about his forthcoming 6-a-side US holiday, currently one game in 12 days -

Cotterill said: ‘The reason it has taken so long to get out in the public domain is the person who organised the trip has been very ill.

‘But he has carried on and got it sorted. We were running out of time but he has got it sorted.

‘I’m thankful to him for doing that, despite being really ill.

followed by the greatest truth he has come out with so far -

and ‘I’m in their debt, really.'

Yes you are Steve, and so many other people's too.

Do we really believe that they are not going to get the players in? We call the Pompey fans deluded.

If BC was still at the club I may agree that he wouldnt care if they had a team or not but these new men would not be signing a 15k a week player on a long contract if they had no thought about assembling a team.

IMO it is ideal as they can start from scratch and put in a load of decent players to make a good team that may push for the PL.

Will we?

Had a look at some of the comments to the last 'story' in their paper;

"all joking aside. we are playing chelsea on 16 july and by then we will have aworking squad. we may have a few trialists as well but i have no doubts we will be a club with enough players to compete well"

"CSI pompey ..players galore coming, the new owners did not sign up not to compete. smart rules the day, SC will get 20-22 decent squadies and a stand out first 11 to 15 players lets see....am sure its all good"

"csi - Chainrai has not been paid fully for the club he is being paid in instalments, so I guess untill he's paid fully he still has a string attached.--- But like you say feels like we do have people around now that will do things properly."

"sorry, that should be post 11. also if chainrai were still owner i would worry but he is gone. nobody buys a club in the state our club is in as there is nothing left to sell. csi are here to build no doubt" - ha ha build what?

Course they'll get the players in, they'll wait until squad registration and play the same sob story about how they haven't got enough players and then go and sign Carlos Tevez et al on absurd wages with all the money that the Russians need to launder

Former Pompey owner Balram Chainrai has revealed he will be getting his money back in instalments from new owner Convers Sports Initiatives.

The Hong Kong-based businessman sold his stake in the club, plus that of partner Levi Kushnir and brother Deepak to CSI a fortnight ago.

His tenure of the club had been controversial to say the least, having acquired a controilling interest in Februray 2010 when then owner Ali Al Faraj defaulted on a loan payment.

Within weeks Chainrai put the club into administration with debts of more than £100m. He then bought the club out of administration, along with Kushnir and Deepak, in the autumn, having shed a significant proportion of those debts.

But in an interview in the South China Post he revealed he wasn't getting the reported £17 million he was asking for up front.

'In the beginning I was put in a very awkward situation,' he said. 'Now I'll get my money back in increments, and most probably won't get all the money back that I have put in. But to have to put no more cash in - and eventually get back over a period of time most of what I invested - is a relief.'

And he hinted the new owners have money to invest. 'People with bigger pockets have taken over so it's a win-win situation for everyone,' he added.

'I took over the club because I had no other option. I was thrown into a situation which was totally unexpected. Suddenly I was in charge of a Premier League football club. Nothing can prepare you for that, but it turned out to be a tremendous experience. The last thing I could even dream of was the club getting to an FA Cup final.

Chainrai's main regret is not winning that final in 2010, when Pompey lost 1-0 at Wembley to Chelsea.

"When you get to an FA Cup final and nearly win it, it's hard not to feel a pang of regret. If [Kevin-Prince] Boateng had scored that penalty we'd have taken the lead, and I believe we would have won.

'I'd have held the FA Cup as the owner of the winning club. I still find it hard to believe I spent two hours in the Royal Box sitting next to Prince William.

Doesn't read as one of the most orchastrated, pre planned, manged aquisition, administration, repurchase and sale ....does it.

Ispwich views on their signing:

£2m midfielder, 10 goals from midfield, Captain.... and presume theyve got a real coup.

Yet, the reality is that no Ipswich fan would say hes shown to be worth anything near £2m, the 10 goals he got last year were a career high that he probably wont ever repeat (he hasnt even got half that amount in his other seasons at itfc) and he was about 3rd choice for captain, after McAuley and Walters!

And frankly his best years are going to be behind him, especially as the type of player he is. Apart from getting a fee for him we've done pretty well there.

Soon his legs will go and he will be useless

3 years is madness for a player with limited footballing ability...who's game is built around fitness and work rate.

That's a relief. Was getting worried he would try to find away back here. Our worst value for money signing for years.

agreed, he made a 5 yard pass look difficult

Does he mean captain of the Ipswich side that had it's joint worst season for 40 years despite multi-million pound investment.

I'd say he lacked leadership qualities.

Doesn't read that the new owners are exactly flush with cash for a spending spree either, but then again, I suspect they'll put it on the never never and start running the debts up again. When do Zebra Finance take over the company?

Now we know though why Baloo still has a charge registered on the Land Registry, against the Club.

so Chanrai is back exactly where he was prior to administration - He's a loan shark who will take control of the business if his money isn't repaid.

Why would stinking rich Russians not pay him off?

a. They don't have much money.

b. See a.

Exactly.

He says about "people with bigger pockets" yet he can afford to loan a club £17 Million and they have to pay him back in installments. Yet again things don't make sense.

you bet wrong, although as i can understand your post I'm a tad worried. I have counted my fingers and toes, I haven't slept with any of my family (apart from my female wife)and so feel less concerned that I'm one of your lot.

It is just logical that having signed a high salaried player you will soon get your numbers up, and if they are all to the standard you will do well.

Apparently there is a lot of dirty money in Russia and it has to be washed somewhere and like an old slipper the first place to do so is at FP.

It is just a shame people with Saints connections helped you get these people

i would be very worried if i was a blue. the new owners made it very clear that they are here to make money out of owning portsmouth football club, which as many knows is a very hard thing to do and have a succesfull team as well. they will bleed the club and will only run it on a very low budget be with as little overheads as possible. how else can they make any money outside the premireship tv income?

If they're so loaded, why are they buying the club on the never-never?

Something's not right here.

They are currently paying Ben-Haim on the never-never, why is this such a difficult leap.

The ownership of Pompey has been murky for the last two years, wouldn't be surprised to find links back to Arcadi at some point. It's all a front, high wages = high turnover = more cash to move around etc.

They are currently not paying TBH at all and are probably hoping things stay that way when the tribunal takes place. But to be fair to the latest owners, it wasn't of their doing that TBH hasn't been paid but might not be too pleased with those previously in charge if the tribunal goes in favour of TBH at the end of next month.

I'm surprised any player would be willing to sign on the dotted line when they see a fellow player having to take the club to tribunal just to get wages owed though. That would strike me as a club to stay clear of if I wanted club to help pay my retirement for a couple of years.

Okay, I'm thinking out loud here. What if the Russians have paid the full £17m to Chinny to buy the club but they've agreed to say it's on installments (e.g. £5m down and another £12m to go) which means that a further £12m (plus interest?) can still be bled out of the club? Surely this would create a perfect environment to move quantities of cash from Russia through the club, and get another legitimate way of getting some more back out?

Another thing, during the admin period, didn't a chinese/Hong Kong group get serious but were almost chased away by Admin Andy; funny that eventually the club ends up in Russian control - home to Arkadi.

Just seen Clotterill in my local Sainsburys. He was on the phone so I tried listening in but he walked away. Looks like he still lives over Bournemouth way.

He does. When I worked at AFC Bournemouth in 09-10, he was at almost every home game they played. So when he took over at Notts County, he did well mainly because he knew a hell of a lot about the league and its teams.

The whole situation with Norris looks a little odd to me. It seems he's signed, and the News have reported it, complete with quotes from Cotterill. But their article states that it won't be officially announced until the 1st July, and a glance at P*mpey's own web site (I felt dirty doing it, but it was for a good cause) confirms this. There's no mention of Norris at all. And Cotterill's comments in the News are that Norris has "agreed to come here" rather than that he's actually put pen to paper.

Now I'm not saying that Norris hasn't signed, but it does all seem a bit strange. Has he agreed verbally, but is still waiting for something better to come along? Hard to say but, like everything else at the wrong end of the M27, it just doesn't look right.

Might have been a pre-contract deal, so he goes nowhere else but they wont have to pay his wages until July onwards.

Assuming they plan on paying ANYONES wages.....
