Pompey Takeover Saga

Rangers is an absolutely different story. Yes, it is true that we were involved in the club acquisition attempt, but as a bank that financed this deal and NOT as people who made the offer. We were eager to learn how football works from the inside and to understand the level of business associated therein. We have met with parties interested in the club and remain good friends with Donald Murray. We respect him as a person who is loyal and who did a lot for the fans and for football. It was not the first time we have been involved in such deals as a financier. However, as far as we concerned, there are some issues with HMRT. We don’t know the full story, but this made the deal impossible in the near future.

At least know the names of your 'friends'.

You are correct. As I write the old Corp ho ho is n the forum reading this thread.

Hi Corp. How are you doing?? Still feeling a little ashamed of yourself for writing such garbage earlier on this thread???

I've just spent twenty minutes googling Donald Murray and Rangers, trying to work out 1) If there is another Murray involved at Rangers or 2) If this is what David's close chums call him, or 3) He hasn't got a clue what he's talking about.

I think the answer may be apparent to all.

Haha Portsmouth, I just got an email that'd save all your troubles:

Dear Sir/Madam

INVESTMENT ENQUIRY ON ESTATE PROPERTIES/OTHER AREA CONSIDER LUCRATIVE IN

YOUR COUNTRY.

It is with heart felt hope that I write to seek your co-operation and assistance in my desire to invest into estate properties and any other business considered lucrative in your country, I saw your contact during my research. Briefly am an old man, my name is Dr.Gbagbo Junior from Cote Di voire in Africa and due for retirement at any moment from now after putting many years in civil service as secretary ministerial evaluation and

implementation under President Larrient Gbagbo.Presently I am in Nigeria and my direct cell phone number is +23480149885 and during this past years in the office i was able to secure a huge amount of money in total $60m( Sixty Million United States Dollars) from over invoiced government contract bills through the advantage of my position in the Office.

As the President's younger brother, i have been deliberating on how to invest this money abroad in a confidential manner until i came to conclusion to use it to buy estate properties and lease to people, while part of it will be used for non speculative investment in your country as part of measure to secure the betterment of my retirement future till i come over to meet with you in your country. In view of this therefore i am soliciting

your confidence support and assistance as my partner to claim this funds for investment project with your name and support from where i deposited the money.

This is because we civil servants are not allowed to own and operate domiciliary accounts especially outside the country. As a matter of fact to claim this funds remains vital issue for now which after the successful claim of the fund we can then invest immediately into any business considered lucrative in your country or else where as i expect you to be trust worthy and kind enough to respond positively to my enquiry if you are kind to assist me, kindly send me your information’s to me for onward procedures.

Yours truly

Dr.Gbagbo Junior

Cote divoire/Nigeria.

Well here's Dubov's website - no mention of Pompey in there although does mention Championship football

http://www.dubov.co.uk/questions/

Is it true that you attempted to acquire Bournemouth FC and Glasgow Rangers? And why did these deals fall apart?

Bournemouth was just speculation by unprofessional agents. We have never made any official offer and did not declare serious interest. Our plans were always bigger than league two. We never met with Eddie Mitchel, the owner. Bournemouth was interesting as a city and for business development. The desires of the agents and the reality are very different things.

:lol::lol::lol:

Now, let's all think back to the early summer I wonder who that could have been?

Oh and Benji? You sure as sh1t must be having a bad day today because you are way out of order and wrong in your comments.

So you haven't given ANY thought to the fact that Vladimir might have gained a competitive advantage from the break up of the former Soviet Union by dint of remote family connections? Or are you taking all the web rumours completely at face value?

3-0 loss tonight and Mullins sent off. Shame.

I'm sure if the referee hadn't turned up and Cotterill had officiated the game itself, it'd have been different.

Can't wait to hear Cotterill say how unlucky they've been AGAIN...

Well, sadly a bad night for both the south coast clubs. Saints suffer a hiccough, 2-0 loss away, but remain in the automatic promotion spot, still with a game in hand. Unfortunately for the Cheats, their 3-0 home defeat and the 6th spot now virtually an impossible dream, this is surely the stake in the heart that finally kills the beast.

He's going off on one now, lol...

..howabout he looks at how inept he is - for a change?

And matey from Solent describes him as "open, candid and honest". How is "it's always someone else's fault/we're so hard done by" week after week after week open, candid and honest?

oh well, something to cheer us up on a gloomy night.

Cotterill's done an amazing job............yeah, of driving the most expensive bus in the championship over a cliff!

Ref's fault again, and isn't that the league's number one convicted sex offender chipping in with goals?

How tasteful.

When I said a couple of weeks ago they are still very much in it as they have two winnable home games coming up, well it seems I was talking out of my a4se!

It isn't going to go down to the wire, they won't be close to the play-offs.

Their season is over.

Milk bottles on the doorstep, put the cat out, lock the gates and call the administrators to say the cva needs a further delay and that Plan A was an unmitigated disaster.

Quality over quantity sounded like a lunatic idea in August, and tonight it was proven to be so, especially when the quality was very poorly chosen.

Bring on the Russians, the circus is still in town.

Guys where has this assumption come that we were all expecting playoffs? Most of us would of been happy staying in the division considering what's gone on the last few years.

welcome back Mero.

The general thought is that by spending so much money this season it was a final gamble at getting Chanrai his money back.

Quality over quantity involves Prem wages and long contracts, there has been little sign of controlling costs and using young players.

Outbidding QPR was one of the highlights, but delaying the cva and payments to small businesses and charities to do it made it outrageous.

So there has been no real attempt to stabilise the business, the big money paid out is once again future income being gambled.

The mistakes of history have been repeated and now the business has to justify the massive outlay for minimal return.

It's like Storrie never left.

Lampitt and Cotterill deliberately gambled another year of parachute money on getting promoted back to where the big bucks are.

They have failed and now the business has to bite the bullet, or bring in new investment.

We can see through their spin, I'm sure you can, but many can't.

They keep telling everyone how great it's been, how the players have done a tremendous job, how the fans have been fantastic, how the business is breaking even - but we all know that none of that is true.

That's why we are amused.

Any of the few who say it's been a good season are kidding themselves, much the same as the position we are in.

We have spent big money for the level we are at, promotion is a must.

If we fail you won't find any Saints fans saying, well we did pretty well, we nearly made the play offs and we did have a bad start, and the refs cost us lots, and we had injuries....

No excuses, both clubs have spent money to go up - not to stay up.

Anyone care to tell me when we had a crowd for a league game that low ??

I thought that tosser Corp Whore said they had sold 16k season tickets?

I reckon, if they continue to collapse, wither and die in every aspect of their scabby little club, we will end up taking larger crowds to AWAY days!

They will be crashing into four figure gates next season (if they make it).

Maybe Dubov can get his large men with revolvers to talk to the ref's before the game once he has siezed control of the laundry machine

Even if the Russians do take them over, I think that there will be severe restrictions on inbound transfers until the CVA is paid off.

Until this time, the FL should restrict them to free transfers and loans, although they may well be able to get players in exchange for Ward and Lawrence, in the same way that they did with Wilson.

That is what happened with Swindon and Bournemouth, but the same laws don't seem to apply to the skates.

I don't think the league has the power to stop them offering outrageous sigining on fees to the likes of David Norris, so that is probably their best hope of raising a team next year.

Off course, the Russians do have to pass the FPP test yet. Looking at some of the allegations against them, it may be difficult.

I really don't think the FA can stop them, even if they wanted to.

I am sure some small print will come out, claiming the new, new (Second new) company are not responsible for the CVA and the chanaris new company will be liquidated.

But whatever way you dress it up, you still come back to the question of why? Gaydamak owns part of the land to prevent any redevelopment, which in any case would be very expensive. Chanari isn't moving for anything less than 25 million and the fan base and infrastructure (joking aside) makes it impossible to be any anything other than a huge drain on the cash. I don't doubt their interest in sport or indeed a football club, but there are soooooooo many other options that would make much more commercial sense...... Take Sheffield Wednesday for example which mandric bought for a pound and settled all debts, costing him 8 million in total.

As per normal, it doesn't make sense, but more importantly it means there is more to this than a takeover, the thread will remain alive and well and judging by their (The Russians) press, baj might want to invest in a new server.

Gaydamek is Russian, these boys are Russian, the father allegedly is an arms dealer. Many roads lead to these men and i wonder if there is a link so that they can get hold of the land. I have become so cynical. Years ago i really believed that we did not live in a corrupt society in the UK. The Pompey saga has shown that it was naive to believe so. (I must admit i had realised this many years before but the way they have so publicly taken the Michael has really reinforced my cynicism)

I think Pompey will survive with no sanctions or punishments as the FA, Premier League, Football League and the Inland Revenue seem to be holding a competition to see who can pull their cheeks furthest apart to get a damn good rodgering from them.

I like your analogy there swanny.

Next season will be interesting should we get there, think we only have 9 contracted players

Don't worry Mero,,,,,,,Footy League will let us have a few choice morsels to keep the numbers up, and not forgetting theres always Uncle Tony, at Stokeo or Ary boy at the yids to fall back on,

Oh and i see you still have your fishing rod,(should we get there,) Lolz.

you have a cunning plan. Let the whole squad be out of contract and so the bulldozers can roll in without any payout.

We didn't say your lot were expecting the playoffs, but you need the playoffs (promotion, actually). It's a case of promotion or bust, with the emphasis now very much on the latter. :D

I'm sure you've read rallyboy's full explanation of why.

well, it seems the Russians are currently attempting the FaPPT and a deal could be completed by the end of the month...

That will be the same deal that would complete a fortnight ago, and then a week ago.

Time to find out if the football authorities can spot organised crime when it comes and knocks on their front door dressed in smart suits, carrying AK47s and a horse's head in a bag.

I suspect you just have to stuff a handful of notes into Lampitt's thong and he'll make a call to the right people and the paperwork is yours.

Next hurdle is to provide proof of funds, but if you have registered the name of a couple of banks I guess you have your own headed notepaper so that one is sorted.

Finally you have to agree a price with Chanrai based on the amount of debt, cva, and complications on land use etc.

That might be the toughest of the three, he'll want £25M in some form and the real business just isn't worth a third of that.

Unless you already have an agreement with the arms dealer and this is a complete Russian property development stitch up.

Or you plan to launder so much filthy cash through it that the purchase price doesn't matter.

Football authorities - this time show us you have some bottle rather than rolling over and getting your tummy tickled.

Roll up, roll up, there's still mileage left in the old train wreck.
