rallyboy Posted 24 March, 2011 Share Posted 24 March, 2011 I assumed the dripfeed of season ticket money was a league-imposed condition from exiting admin to prevent them from overspending again, they didn't trust them with a wad of cash. Presumably they only want this money advanced so they can settle debt and to save creditors having to wait for the cva to be further delayed? They can't be so skint that they need next season's income now - that would be mental. At this rate they could see off all the four years of parachute payments by the start of season two. mack rill Posted 24 March, 2011 Share Posted 24 March, 2011 How's the Riquelme deal coming on? Surely with your wage structure you can bring him in for the play-off push. I think the deal all hinges on how many (mugs) Punters They can get to stump up used coin on the (bye now, Pray later) no money back guaranteed offer on the we might be hear next season tickets, ps us the blue few might be thick, But we are not that feckin thick! Dark Munster Posted 24 March, 2011 Share Posted 24 March, 2011 so if they are doing this so they have the season ticket money now, rather than drip fed, so they can limp on until the end of the season, how exactly are they going to fund the wages over the summer when there is no money coming in?, or the wages in Sept/Oct when theres only pay on the day money coming in?, because they have already spaffed the parachute money.they are actually going to be worse off come Sept because their cash flow will actually be a lot less than last year All the roads for the Cheats seem to be leading to the same place ..... promotion or bust. No pressure then for Stevie boy and his paper thin squad.

redkeith Posted 25 March, 2011 Share Posted 25 March, 2011 So the transfer window has now closed, and Brown, Hughes and Ben Haim are still at the club ( how is the sispute with West Ham going ? ) . That means that they have to pay all three of them until July 1st, when the first two are out of contract, and the transfer windows opens for all of the clubs waiting to pay Ben Haim £38K per week. Their combined wage is £100K per week, for another 14 weeks. That comes to £1.4 Million, or to put it another way 2,800 full priced season tickets just to pay for the deadwood. Doesn't leave a lot for rebuilding the team, or paying the C.V.A .

Clapham Saint Posted 25 March, 2011 Share Posted 25 March, 2011 (edited) Lol. Only just caught up on this. If the few pay by credit card and the club stops trading in the summer then they will all go straight to their card companies to get the transaction refunded. Given that Poopey will have already spent the money and there will be no way for the card company to get the money back from the club they will be left with a massive loss (as they will still refund the fans). The card providers clearly think that there is a decent risk that this could happen and so aren't prepared to hand the cash over to the club until the games are played and their exposure is removed. If the fans take out a loan from Zebra Finance to pay for their ticket and the club goes under in the summer then they will still have to make the repayments to Zebra and will have to try and get their season ticket money back from the Administrator/Liquidator. They will be unsecured creditors and I'd be willing to bet wouldn't get a penny. Edited 25 March, 2011 by Clapham Saint

redkeith Posted 25 March, 2011 Share Posted 25 March, 2011 Also in the News today, it said that the Skates were more hopeful of a resoloution in the dispute over KPB and Muntari, with monies still owed from Italy. In the case on Muntari, they are chasing payment of the last part of the transfer fee for the sale to Inter, but they still owe money to Udinese fir the original purchase of the player. However , this is not a fottball debt according to FA/PL rules and so is part of the CVA. Can you imagine the reaction in the English press if ,say, Fiorentina had gome bust owing money for a player they had bought from an English club, who they had subsequently sold onto another English club for a profit, and then refused to cough up what they owed in the first place. The tabloids would have a field day. I think that the Italian FA should get Inter to pay off Udinese, and the Skates get any small change that is left over. I am not just saying that because it is the Skates, but if the same thing happened to an Englsih club, I would want the FA to step in.
Huffton Posted 25 March, 2011 Share Posted 25 March, 2011 When I win the euromillion tonight I will buy the skates. They are the bestest fans in the world ever and they deserve an owner like me. I will pay off all their debt, and give Terry the Builder a decent drink for his trouble. I will then have krap nottarf redecorated (Terry can do it) , red and white vertical stripes would look good. THe team can play in the same colours I think. Obviously after paying all the debt off I won't have that much left so I will drip feed them a little each month, just enough for overheads and wages, and watch them slide slowly (well rather quickly actually) back down to the level they deserve, playing H&W every week. Just waiting for the numbers to come in...

Alternatively, you could buy yourself a nice mansion and yacht in the Caribbean, and let the Cheats implode and slide back down to the level they deserve, all by themselves. Admittedly there won't be the satisfaction of them playing in red/white stripes, but I'm sure that won't be too big of a sacrifice as you sip martinis on the beach. rallyboy Posted 28 March, 2011 Share Posted 28 March, 2011 he has taken the highest paid XI in the division to the fringes of the playoffs, the equivalent of Man City finishing 7th. Even allowing for some settling in over their self-organised chaotic start (a US holiday paid for by the taxpayer), they should be higher with that team. I see their position is similar to ours - high spenders in the division, and with that investment comes a level of expectancy. Our season has been marred by the death of the owner and early-season managerial problems, yet we have turned it round and look competitive. People won't call Nige a tactical genius if we finish 8th - the same should go for Cotterill. He follows in the footsteps of the flawed Avram who spent an entire calendar year in the relegation zone yet is hailed as a managerial giant to the east, they seem to accept less over there. With the money spent, both clubs have the minimum target this season of going up, not staying up.
