This is Pompey, the League will probably award Kitson damages and Pompey a bye.
yeah and when they do Cotterill will come on and complain that they were short on numbers and so will the FA make sure their next opponents only start with 8 players, they want an even playing field afterall

What a fantastic day for Chinchanerai

1) pompey get knocked out of cup - no replay no additional revenue

2) Ben Haim returns to collect his massive wages

3) over 5 yellows in one match - guranteed fine

4) Kitson sent off, probably be a four match ban, big wages to warm the seats (But will make the stand look fuller)

5) lawerence injury, could be out for a while

6) Mokena one yellow off a ban

He is a loan isn't he, so surely stoke is his parent club???

I think they ought to appeal the red card for an unlucky right hook on an opposing player, squeeze one more game out of him while the appeal is laughed at, and then send him packing back to Stoke to pay his wages (with heartfelt thanks) for the 10 game suspension he'll get for appealing the GBH. After all, they'll need every penny now that their superstar Ben-Haim has returned.

Shame they can't cheat their way to Wembley this year. Never mind Cheats, there's always next year ... if you exist, of course.

Did the interviewer suggest he uses some of the "Not so good" younger players?

Didn't suggest that, but he questioned Cotterill by saying "if you knew this referee dishes out a lot of cards, why didn't you prepare your team and tell them that?"

Cotterill was none too amused!

Did the interviewer slap him round the face and ask why the **** the stupid skate **** signs players on 20K a week then moan about the size of his squad?

If it wasn't tax payers money paying for that shambles down the road I would find it more amusing. At the moment I just find it frusstrating the club still exists. It will be interesting to see how they accomadate Ben Haim's MASSIVE wages though.

life is sweet - this day has an interesting feel to it - a watershed moment perhaps....

As I watched our weakened side destroy a weakened Blackpool I just thought, we could take pompey now.

Our squad has strengthened while theirs has got weaker, and ridiculously expensive.

As the manager of Newcastle would say, Brighton gave them a proper raping today, Bournemouth would fancy their chances against them - Pompey are starting to do a very good impression of the weakest club on the south coast.

It looks like a business in serious trouble, a team in terminal decline, a rudderless ship taking on water - is 8/1/11 the official launch date of Pompey's long awaited slide into the abyss?

Let's hope so - justice has been long overdue for a while now.

good old pompey fans....apparently there was a bit of ruck in the area after their game today....

who would have thunk it

I think they could well be going down

Critical time of the season for them. If they lose their next couple of games I think their heading for a relegation scrap. With their small squad the season fatigue will get to them far earlier than the other teams.

Next three games......

Forest away = defeat

Leeds home = defeat

QPR away = defeat

oh happy days!!! :D

Cotterill sounds mid-breakdown, he's reached the paranoid stage.

His common theme is that they seem to be in charge of every game, bossing it, creating chances, looking the more likely, under no pressure.....until the opposition score, normally as a result of a poor refereeing decision.

He also seems worried that the transfer policy he embarked on with Lampitt is backfiring.

Who'd have thought they might get injuries and suspensions, what bad luck!

As he's going a bit bonkers is it too early to feel sorry for him?......

Yep!

I think I'll wait until they're relegated before I concern myself with his problems.

SC not happy! Certainly getting found out by the reporter on the audio!

"If the ref has a reputation for dishing out lots of cards shouldn't the players have been aware and prepared?"

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/fa_cup/9341950.stm

Sounded very 'non commital' to me. Can except that he would be dejected because of the result today, but it appeared that everything else was / is wrong as well.

Blaming the ref is fine, but after any ref has flashed a few cards, the other players should get the message and take the hint - his players obviously did not - that is basic football discipline that you teach 11 year olds ffs.

Didn't sound at all confident that his 'wish list' would be honoured at all. Nigel Adkins stated that we had made enqireries for players, Steve Cotterill couldn't even be sure that his board had acted on his wishes.

Sounds like a man totally dejected with life and a whole host of problems to try to solve - good init...!

funny how managers never appreciate that players get booked because they done something wrong as apposed to it being the ref doing something wrong for booking them.

With every Cotteril interview it feels as though the relationship between him, Lumpa**** and Chinnychinchinchin as breaking down more and more. There appears to be no unity at all. Shame.

Many have said on here, that Poopey have got away with it. I have always maintained they are toast, and this slow slow death, is maybe more deserved, that a quick ending, which the legal system failed to deliver. Sit back folks, and enjoy the slide!

that's quite an admission Mero - a mate of mine who is a pompey fan has just about given up with football completely, the last few games seem to have been the last straw for a few, of the few.

Before you wave the white flag we still have a lot of work to do before we can resume our rightful position (see arrogance/Holloway!)

So before Ho reappears spouting his unique version of events, barring a lunatic with cash rolling into town, what would you like to happen next?

From the bitter rivals point of view I think most of us just want to see some justice served for the obvious criminality and deception that has surrounded the club and assisted it so much on the pitch.

I would think that a demotion to Lg 2 and cancelling of player contracts registered with the league wouldn't be harsh, and the police can then pursue any charges they want to bring against individuals.

It would free the club from these crippling £40K a week wages, force a re-think on finances, chase away most vultures and allow the club to start again.

Downside? The creditors would suffer, but they voted for getting nothing so that's their problem.

Sadly the league won't do that as the club must have signed player contracts that commit them to pay MILLIONS over the next few years, all protected by football creditor rules - pompey continue to dig their own corporate grave, no doubt they will sign someone else on ridiculous terms anyday soon.

And that's why sympathy is thin on the ground.

Was that 1-0 win over a midtable and bankrupt championship club still worth the £100M it must have cost?

Was the illegal acquisition of players for the 4-1 win at St Marys worth sending the club back towards liquidation?

'we beat the scummers!' - yes, and it might yet cost you the whole club.

Brighton and Southampton are flourishing, it might be time to admit that the cup wasn't worth it.

There are certainly some big gamblers down that way - and like 99% of gamblers, they fail.

Having seen Saints on the brink of closure I wouldn't gamble the whole club for anything.

I would like to see them fold, totally and utterly.

To die, to cease to exist.

I'm still confident that it'll happen.

It is difficult, the club i would like seen to be ground into the dirt, fans like those 2 just are football fans who love their club and were just unfortunate to be born in Pompey. They dont deserve the c### .
