It shows how times have moved on. A year ago we were all arguing about Lowe, Wilde and Crouch. We now all moan and argue about the admins. I love it:D;)

And also I got that PM from um pahars. He's a big loss to the forum and it's very sad that he felt the way he did.

 

He seems to be one of a number that has left because of abuse not being dealt with properly. I also note that their is legal action going on with another Saints forum as well because of these dickheads.

Thanks Ron - I thought the same, although I didn't notice it until this morning.

I would like it's title reverted to the original because my name is on it and I don't believe the new title is correct.

 

So Ponty this is an official request to please have the original title re-instated. Fans can then make up their own minds.

 

A quick look at the Moderator Log shows me that this thread was renamed on the 27th of August. If two months isn't long enough for you to notice that the thread title was different then I'd suggest your outrage at the change and your level of caring about it is more about some perceived power play with the admin (or me, specifically - although I didn't change it) than it is about the fact your name is next to it.

 

Um Pahars left the forum essentially because we wouldn't ban Nineteen Canteen at his demand. A shame but there you go.

Ponty, I think this is being - in the literal sense - economical with the truth. When 19C first appeared, several of us pointed out that he was Sundance Beast. You responded by saying that you too were suspicious, and were looking into it closely. Subsequently, you claimed that 19C/Sundance was let back in on an amnesty.

 

 

You can't have it both ways, as um pointed out at the time.

We, the admin, decided we were happy with the way we'd administrated 19C's position, a shame cos I enjoyed sparring with UP from time to time.

I can categorically state, Ponty that Um Pahars did NOT leave because the admin/mods did not ban 19C, and you are out of order for stating that.

 

Have you got nothing better to do than tampering with other people's thread titles because it doesn't fit with your opinion. One of the reasons I took so long to notice was because I wasn't even aware of the lounge and only discovered it fairly recently. Had the thread stayed on the main forum I might have noticed the less than subtle editing a lot quicker.

 

I would respectfully and politely ask two things of you. You retract your statement about the reason Um Pahars left and you either re-instate the original thread title or change it to something like Hypo suggests, because, as the originator of this thread I do not agree with the current title and it suggests I support the takeover. I don't think that is too much to ask. Thank you.

Ok, I may have over-simplified the UP case, but that's only because I don't think it's fair to sprawl all of the details out on the forum. His opinion was different to ours and he left because he felt strongly enough about it. As I said, it was a shame but he wanted to go. Nobody can doubt that his differences of opinion with 19C were the root cause of his angst.

 

As for the thread title - ah come on, no one thinks you sympathise with the Skates, do they now? I remember when the title was changed (and who changed it) and at the time it was clear that the takeover completing was far more disasterous for the Skates than it would have been had it fallen through. In effect, they were in more trouble because of it - and that's strangely how it's turned out. Don't you think?

"Oh Happy Day - takeover completes" suggests the poster is happy that the takeover has occurred when my sentiments were the exact opposite. Again I am requesting it be either reverted or altered to Hypo's suggestion - surely that is not to much to ask to put this matter to bed?

Hi all,

 

This was mentioned on the board earlier in the week, and I thought it was worth bringing up now that the takeover is complete as I thought it was a cracking idea.

 

Basically, Peter Storrie should be given the freedom of the city. I know that it's not a great secret that I've been firmly in the Peter Storrie camp over the last few months, and without him, and the great work done by the club as a whole, we possibly might not have a club to speak about today, but please don't think that this is just a 'suck-up' job, I firmly believe this is deserved. I know Peter has had his detractors, but he's been an employee of the club, has had to perform a very difficult job and be the face of the club under difficult management and his highly thought of around the footballing fraternity, and that isn't for no reason. Also, consider the below;

 

Milan was given the freedom of the city and, fair play to him for saving the club as well, but he took his money and went to pastures new

 

Redknapp was given the freedom of the city. Enough said.

 

The squad were given the freedom of the city, and most of them have gone off as soon as trouble started brewing.

 

Peter has stuck by the club through this, despite receiving job offers from elsewhere, and has ensured we have a club to follow today and which is a fantastic position to really go forward. A lot of work has gone into the situation over the last year, when Sacha wasn't putting money into the club, the situation with Al-Fahim, bringing the Al-Faraj consortium in to where we are today with huge potential for the future, both for the club and the city as a whole.

 

Peter has been a massive part of this and I think the award would be wholly justified and popular, especially considering the comments I've seen on here and the media.

 

Not a great expert on how this could be organised, but this is something I'd really like to see if we could get through. So, would welcome comments!

Who has changed the title of this thread? Which power crazed admin thinks it is ok to tamper with the personal musings of members of the forum? I think it is a disgrace and it makes me feel sick. What next? Will our posts be altered? Will our usernames be changed? Will the beauty and complexity that makes English language what it is be reduced to a series of factual bullet points for the purpose of admin power? It is this sort of thing that makes people turn to the BNP. If SWF cannot deal with the issue of thread titles properly and effectively, then maybe someone else can?

I very much miss Um Pahars input on here, mainly because I usually agreed with most he said!!!!! and, he was an original poster. It is a great shame he left but he has his principles I guess....

another reason why people post less and less...is because of the likes of St Will....constantly..CONSTANTLY having digs at other posters and winding them up for daring not agreeing with him...he has started already again tonight..

This thread is specifically designed to 1) Show that FF's ITK source was correct and 2) DP sometimes is able to say things that aren't completely sh*t.

 

In addition, it is THE singular most important literary work in the recent history of Southampton FC allowing it's long suffering fans an outlet for and source of some of the greatest humour since, well Dave Allen Tommy Cooper and Not the Nine O'Clock News, hell, maybe even since the Young Ones.

 

I have created an UP appreciation thread so that we may continue the battle versus admin in an appropriate place, this thread is WAY too valuable to be hijacked, Historians and our Children will read this and see the true story of the Story at Nottarf Krap

Why did he leave? I am not 100% sure but I know it wasn't over the mods not banning 19C - more, I think he had grown frustrated at the way this forum was administrated on a general level. His absence is I think detrimental to this forum because I thought he was a "big voice" and one worth reading.
