Crab Lungs Posted 18 October, 2009 Posted 18 October, 2009 Just thought I'd pop by and say 2,371 to Corp. LMFAO
dubai_phil Posted 18 October, 2009 Posted 18 October, 2009 Big week this week. Gitex - the 3rd largest IT & related products show in the world. Busy time for all of us down here. Economic reality is showing though with a major reduction in the number of large vendors exhibiting here. With the exception of Microsoft, who are using the event as their focal point in the Windows 7 global release. In fact, they are making a huge song and dance & PR push. The rest of the industry down here however are now enthralled by what hs become a massive sweepstake, attracting large bets even in this land. The Sweepstake is Which will fatally crash first Windows 7 or Portsmouth Football Club? Guess who's now odds on? Highest bet placed so far is 2,371 Dirhams
Smirking_Saint Posted 18 October, 2009 Posted 18 October, 2009 Don't get the 2,371 reference ?? Have i missed an interesting snippet ?? As for the game, hehehe Dindane ?? More like Bindone !!!
Weston Super Saint Posted 18 October, 2009 Posted 18 October, 2009 Don't get the 2,371 reference ?? Have i missed an interesting snippet ?? From Phil? You are joking right?
Gigersaint Posted 18 October, 2009 Posted 18 October, 2009 Dindane is becoming my favourite non saints player.. lol I think he is trying to outdo piquionne for the lead boot award so he at least wins something this season.
dubai_phil Posted 19 October, 2009 Posted 19 October, 2009 Now now WSS, give credit to posters who's research leads to legendary moments! Smirking_SaintDon't get the 2,371 reference ?? Have i missed an interesting snippet ?? As for the game, hehehe Dindane ?? More like Bindone !!! Give it up Skate, nothing beats your 2,371 (26th Sept 2000) for a 1st Team fixture (Even Bournemouth get higher gates than that). You lost the argument on attendance figures when only TWO THOUSAND could be bothered to turn up, or are you now going to tell us the Trawlers were in town that night and you were queued up down the docks to get your fresh fish.
Doctoroncall Posted 19 October, 2009 Posted 19 October, 2009 Where did the 2,371 figure come from? Soccerbase states 2,731 http://www.soccerbase.com/results3.sd?gameid=292067

miserableoldgit Posted 19 October, 2009 Posted 19 October, 2009 BBC South just reported that their new owner is considering legal action to get rid of SAF after his recent comments! Oh what fun!!!
dubai_phil Posted 19 October, 2009 Posted 19 October, 2009 Latest update from my sources. Nothing, absolutely nothing, Meanwhile DP's birthday party rocked, EoA may not be too well tomorrow so anyone overflying here or en route via Dubai take out extra insurance as ATC may be dodgy... But it wa worth it for the 16 min version of Freebird by the band in the pub after the Oktoberfest Tent,,, magic moment EoA arranged OWTS played by an Ooompah band. Priceless but my head hurts, my fault no Bullfrogs
slickmick Posted 20 October, 2009 Posted 20 October, 2009 16th Oct was D Day for paying their tax bill wasn`t it ?
Paul Chuckle Posted 21 October, 2009 Posted 21 October, 2009 see they are already spending their new found billions LOL http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1221790/One-time-Manchester-United-Liverpool-target-Cherno-Samba-handed-trial-Portsmouth.html

His last spell in the UK was a scoreless spell at Wrexham while on loan from Plymouth, where he was just as unprolific. He used to be awesome on Championship Manager though.
Saint Mikey Posted 21 October, 2009 Posted 21 October, 2009 He used to be awesome on Championship Manager though. He certainly was. Do you think budgetary constraints have reduced Pompey's scouting network to a copy of Champ Man c.2000/01?!
Dimond Geezer Posted 21 October, 2009 Posted 21 October, 2009 Wave 105 have been running a charity auction all morning, a signed Saints shirt went for £350, :smt038 however, the skate one went for only £200. :smt081 Hopefully it went to a saints fan for bonfire night.
Doctoroncall Posted 21 October, 2009 Posted 21 October, 2009 And so the rumblings go on... http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2009/oct/21/portsmouth-sulaiman-al-fahim It states the club has still got a £70m debt but at least we know who owns the land and who's fighting for it!
Colinjb Posted 21 October, 2009 Posted 21 October, 2009 He certainly was. Do you think budgetary constraints have reduced Pompey's scouting network to a copy of Champ Man c.2000/01?! Found at a car boot sale no doubt. One of the latest revolutionary steps taken to modernise the Skate's scouting network.
INFLUENCED.COM Posted 21 October, 2009 Posted 21 October, 2009 And so the rumblings go on... http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2009/oct/21/portsmouth-sulaiman-al-fahim! How can you be mis translated in an Arabic Language newspaper ! long may he remain associated to their club
rallyboy Posted 21 October, 2009 Posted 21 October, 2009 I can't see how their debt can still be £70M??! Unless of course we discover that Fahim has trousered the Sky money and 'forgotten' to pay off the banks - that would be hilarious! Surely they've cleared £30M since the summer and should have done the tax bill by now. With the reduced wage bill of a Conference quality squad even hero Storrie's huge salary can't have pushed them back to the brink. If the £70M debt were true they could shut shop this afternoon and forget being a football club cos that ain't ever going to get paid. Maybe it's those nasty papers who've got it in for them, remember how they claimed there was going to be a firesale, then they wrote that Fahim was a loon, that Defoe and Crouch would go, then they said that the club was on the brink of admin and that Hart's job was hanging by a thread, nasty tabloid lies. Funny how we haven't seen much libel action launched yet. Anyway, trying to make sense of the soap opera latest, the man who could be holding the cards now is Gaydamak whose old man wouldn't let him sell to Faraj. Arms Dealer senior now holds a hand of aces over the new owner should he want access to the land for redevelopment, not only can he not buy it direct, Faraj will have to be nice to Fahim just to gain access to it. If I was the gun runner I would just sit on the land and wait until the whole lot comes crashing down which it must without ground redevelopment or HUGE investment. Plenty more laughs in this one, I've never seen a comedy with so many side-splitting encores, everytime the curtain closes and you get up to leave they come out and do more. This is a golden era, it can't go on much longer...
S-Clarke Posted 21 October, 2009 Posted 21 October, 2009 Nice to see Hart still has the eye for talent. Cherno Samba (ex Millwall and Plymouth) has been handed a trial. they're obviously more skint than we can imagine, or hart doesn't have a clue. Probably a mixture of both...
saintwarwick Posted 21 October, 2009 Posted 21 October, 2009 2722 posts says this ain't dead yet! No it just means you lot are dying a slow death
St Chalet Posted 21 October, 2009 Posted 21 October, 2009 Out of the frying pan, into the fire, back into the frying pan. Glad to see they are signalling their intentions on the transfer front pre-window. As a League One club even we would be hacked off if Cherno Samba was the limit of our ambition.
benjii Posted 21 October, 2009 Posted 21 October, 2009 I have a theory of what's going on but I'm not too inclined to post it as it's just speculation. Needless to say, they're fooked!

chocco boxo Posted 22 October, 2009 Posted 22 October, 2009 Bet Arry boy is having a twitch nights sleep!
Under Weststand Posted 22 October, 2009 Posted 22 October, 2009 That made me LOL mandric made a payment into offshore account & its private obviously not private enough as the authorities have found out about it . Stand by for some excessive twitching to be going on :smt046.

PaulSaint Posted 22 October, 2009 Posted 22 October, 2009 Hunting Pompey down in the wee small hours - there's dedication! They are so crooked you can find stuff on them at anytime of the day? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/hampshire/8319911.stm

Pancake Posted 22 October, 2009 Posted 22 October, 2009 Would a conviction on that charge automatically disqualify him from being a football club director? God I hope not, the longer he and Fahim are there the worse it gets.
rallyboy Posted 22 October, 2009 Posted 22 October, 2009 I like Storrie's rock solid defence for failing to declare tax on a deal (or the deal itself) during a calendar year - he was away for a week of it. Guilty, next case. I am sure Redknapp, Storrie and Mandaric didn't have their grubby fat fingers in the till, like muddy pigs snorting around a trough of cash, oink, oink, that scenario obviously hasn't occured and anyone who thinks it has would require proof. Pancake is right, we need to campaign to keep Fahim and Storrie involved, and Hart as manager, maybe we should try and get Redknapp back to look after all transfers as well, when he comes out of the scrubs. The train crash continues, and if anything, seems to be gathering pace!...choo choo, mind the doors, and the offshore accounts. I see a points deduction for financial irregularities on the horizon, or is that too much to hope for?
RonManager Posted 22 October, 2009 Posted 22 October, 2009 I see a points deduction for financial irregularities on the horizon, or is that too much to hope for? Don't they need to have some first?
dubai_phil Posted 22 October, 2009 Posted 22 October, 2009 Just back from the last day of the IT show... Read this and have to say, it was a great last ditch effort by the skates to win the "Which crashes first sweepstake", but, to my despair, I have to report to our esteemed readers that in fact MS Windows 7 won, yep it crashed during the public powerpoint demonstration at the show to launch it, it dropped the internet connection, took out the sound and bless blue screened..... So shame the sk*tes are still going but then we get more fun out of their demise, MS we just expected it (Oh the presenter had an excuse worthy of Al Fahim - it was Abode Acrobat's fault) lol God Bless amateurs in all walks of life (Sweepstahe was won by a sales guy from Dell btw Aed 2731 I believe)
Joey-deacons-left-nut Posted 22 October, 2009 Posted 22 October, 2009 hahahaha!! http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/oct/22/ali-al-faraj-portsmouth Faraj admits he knows nothing about football, is in it for the cash and 'aint a billionaire... there's a suprise!!!
Joey-deacons-left-nut Posted 22 October, 2009 Posted 22 October, 2009 fuuuck.. the £5m he used to pay off the stafes wages he had to borrow from THREE institutions... this just gets better and better!
Verbal Posted 22 October, 2009 Posted 22 October, 2009 fuuuck.. the £5m he used to pay off the stafes wages he had to borrow from THREE institutions... this just gets better and better! And even that was borrowed - yet again - against future TV earnings, which in turn assumes that Pompey will still be in the Prem next season. What's amazing about all this is that the disaster is rolling on for so long. Are they doing it just to keep us entertained?

S-Clarke Posted 22 October, 2009 Posted 22 October, 2009 Oh dear that's what you want, someone managing your club who doesn't give a **** - he just wants his money back. gotta feel sorry for them in a way, they've been strung over twice now. but it is funny...
