Pompey Takeover Saga

if for the first time they're realistic about trying to address the finances they need to lose everyone and start again.

Even the poorest performing players on that list must be on over-inflated wages as it was the Storrie way.

Either they clear out and concentrate on getting the finances back on track (using the sexy total football path) or they continue the madness until the taxman shuts the ground forever.

The shrewd plan would be to finish one place above relegation with a lean and restructured club that's heading towards self-financing.

Their crushing new £10K wagecap must be similar to Burnley's standard trading idea when they were solvent and in the Prem, AA hasn't suggested a revolutionary new moneysaver, it's a bit steep for a crippled championship club on low gates.

If they retain anyone on stupid money they need a rich new owner, and they don't have one, so it's a simple decision.

Based on recent history - the chances of them doing the sensible and honest thing?

Zero.

Don't be silly.

We have already noticed that an awful lot of the Few seem to be Intellectually Challenged. This stuff will continue until such time as they have squeezed every last penny they can from their Season Ticket renewals.

After which they will be left with their Academy Team & Paul Wotton.

Can't believe you haven't learnt from our experience :yawinkle:

By my fag packet calculations, we are going to hit 1 million views in about 18 days.

I'm kinda hoping for Y2k moment where the forum program has no understanding of this additional zero and goes into meltdown, at about the same time as the CVA is rejected, Storrie is arrested, the gun runner accidentially treads on one of own landmines, The thai lady sucks a little too hard and TCWTB is mowed down by some 12 year old joyrider in Paulsgrove.

I hope someone has saved this thread.

C'mon, be a bit more realistic. There's also the points deductions, fire sale, Android's disbarring, liquidation, new Tesco store and 'Arry's house being washed away by a high tide.

(OK, i invented the last bit).

Just seen this on the Pompey Web Site

"Portsmouth FC is taking the precautionary measure of recalling the above Pompey baby rattles (retail price £7.99).

Customer safety is always our priority and we have identified that there is a potential safety issue with this product.

Customers who have bought this product are requested to return it to the Pompey Megastore in Rodney Road, where we will be happy to exchange it for an alternative item. Pompey would like to apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

The recall is a precautionary measure and no other products are affected."

Rattles out of the pram time methinks!

Also interesting to note that this club will stoop to anything by even taking money from Babies as they are not offering any refunds to the misguided soles who actually purchased a pompey baby rattle!

notice they will only replace, no cash to give the money back. I wonr if that is legal as if the product is faulty I think that a refund has to be made.

W******d must have got some of it caught in his throat.

so AA is kindly telling West Ham that he won't demand compensation (as legally he can't) and he's wasting most of his time on a Europa application that is two months late, won't even be looked at, and they don't meet any of the criteria.

As an administrator, why doesn't he try some administrating?

Even one day a week might help.

Or is he still sulking because he wanted to be mascot at Wembley?

Methinks he's a little bit simple.

In that case I hope that they get (yet more) 'special dispensation', because they are a 'special case' and really shouldn't be expected to play by the rules that everybody else has to observe.

Let them in (I'm sure the Everton fans wont mind), they are a deserving case - nobody, absolutely nobody deserves to be publicly humiliated on the field than they do.

PFC for Europe, I say.

Greek league would be about right at the mo !!!!

Just reading the bit about Hreidarsson being offered a new deal. Firstly I thought he had triggered a one year extension anyway before he got injured, and secondly, if not, you would be insame to offer any deal to a 36 year old who is likely to miss half the season at best.

Also the mongs keep going on about players they can get for 10k/week after Andy Android suggested that figure as reasonable wage. On 12-15000 gates, no parachute money etc, how the hell can they pay that sort of wage? IIRC we had about half a dozen players on that or just over and that nearly ruined us.

I still cannot decide if he is

a, delusional

b, staggeringly complacent

c, playing up to what the mongs want hear

d, downright deceitful and playing whatever game it is that Chainrai is playing

e, he knows there is a cunning plan that means they will get away with it, so his lack of concern is genuine

Answers on a postcard please

or what

I reckon he obviously thinks pompey will get away with it. Seeing how the rules have been bent to suit them in the past he may well be right!

ndroid talking about Grunt ......

Andronikou maintains Portsmouth will understand should Grant wish to leave.

"We will not stand in Avram's way," the administrator added.

"There is a contract in place, but I have said we are not going to ask for compensation.

"We at least owe him that after the tremendous job he has done for this football club."

LOL ..... and who knows how many months wages

Ignoring the can they/can't they demand compensation issue, surely his duty is to the creditors? He owes them that, at least. Grant shouldn't come into the equation.

I cannot understand why AA hasn't, albeit according to The News, given up the fight to keep Grunt.

http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/Pompey-still-have-Avram-hope.6303407.jp

Is that in the creditors' best interest Mr AA? Representing the creditors, he should be getting the best deal he can to keep their businesses going.

His focus is *rse about face if you ask me.

Apparently Grant's contract was renegotiated in February as a result of them failing to pay him so it's now a rolling contract. As a result, they wouldn't be entitled to any compensation even if they wanted it.

Which just goes to show what a khuntoid Android is ... trying to make it look as if they are doing him a favour

See Steves post above, it looks like they have no claim. You are absolutely right though, that his primary obligation is to the creditors, so if compensation was an option, he would be duty bound to pursue it.

However from what i have seen and heard of android, i think he might of missed that day in class, when they covered that bit.

Does Chanrai think that if he underwrites them for this season and they go back up he will hit the jackpot?

It seems Pompey live in a different world to all other parts of business and so anything seems to be possible!!!!

Running a business in the construction industry, where everyone hopes the developer / funder survives, I have come across administrators when businesses go under, but never one who serves the creditors so poorly as AA.He does not appear to be an administrator.

Storieteller could have continued, after all, he has a proven track record for a similar disservice to suppliers.

Anyone know how the open top bus defeat parade went on sunday?

It was cancelled.

Was a terrible idea in the first place.

Thanks, and hilarious!

I can imagine most of the players took the opportunity to head straight to Heathrow from Wembley and forget the last ten months ever happened, whilst eternally grateful to the local cancer charities, schools, hospitals and the 85 who sacrificed their livelihoods just so the team could keep petrol in there V12's.

Grunty could have made a quick change at Baker street to speed up his journey, although im sure the fat knacker just stayed on the jubilee line all the way to his new spiritual home... Upton Park

IF Pompey started next season on 0 points, what's to stop them keeping enough of their squad to be a force in the Championship, make a calculated financial gamble on going up in the first year and going up . . .

It's all smoke and mirrors atm for sure. But I wouldn't think old men like James, Kanu and Hreidarson will manage to inspire greenhorns and fellow journeymen to the CCC title!

Nothing and that would be a outrage.

Please please someone assure me that they will get a points deduction the 9 they were deducted this season was pointless as the would have still gone down.

With such a mess and the way they have carried on spending what they havent got there must be a penalty impossed on them or what does that say to everyone else?

Dont let the dirty cheating fish fiddlers get away with it anything more than -15 would be acceptable.

simply the gamble would not be for the faint-hearted, the overheads and running costs are still too much.

An immediate return could cover costs after a couple of years without further penalties but as we have said since the start, there are far more attractive propositions available.

Chanrai has put himself in pole position in the worst Grand Prix in history, he could do something with the ground if the whole football club thang fell apart and get some money, but a new owner would have to be insane to put in the investment required with a slim chance of returns on it.

Better investments at the moment would include clubs like Leeds, even Millwall if they make it up - that's how far Pompey's stock has fallen.

The cold reality is ignored by fans who just look at what happens on the pitch, as a post-admin club we know better than that these days - we look at the small print like balance sheets etc!

Forget all the spin and the hype and the bravado from the few, after 524 pages they have still failed to find the one thing they need, a buyer.

Hard cash is still the only answer to their situation and without it there will be no return.

I think the FL WILL deduct them points as they tend to make up rules as they go along for differing situations. Add to that the trials of 'arry, Storrie and Mandaric and your looking at potentially points deduction.

If they somehow avoid the points deduction then a combination of AA playing a blinder and the PL bailing them out, means they'll get off with merely relegation from the PL

The only other aspect is whether AA is in the pocket of Chainrai, whose long term intention is to liquidate the club to have flats built on FP - if the conspiracy theorists are to be believed

Seems they've decided they're in a position to offer players new contracts now!

Pompey Offer Ten Players New Deals

Preparations for Pompey’s 2010/11 season are already underway, as the football club looks to build a strong squad capable of challenging for the Championship title.

The football club can confirm it has offered new contracts to influential first-team FA Cup heroes David James, Kanu, Hermann Hreidarsson and Ricardo Rocha.

It’s hoped the popular quartet will bring a wealth of experience and strength to the Blues’ side as they seek to return to the Premier League at the first time of asking.

A number of Pompey’s rising stars have also been approached with new deals to keep them at Fratton Park.

Lennard Sowah, Matt Ritchie and Joel Ward have all been offered contracts, following their impressive breakthroughs at the end of the season.

They are joined by fellow youngsters Marlon Pack and Tom Kilbey, along with reserve keeper Jon Stewart.

Fratton favourite Linvoy Primus has also been offered a position at the club, following his retirement from football.

And Pompey’s coaching staff have identified a number of players in different positions that they would like to bring into the squad, with work ongoing in this area.

Loan stars Jamie O’Hara (Tottenham), Hassan Yebda (Benfica), Aruna Dindane (Lens) and Frederic Piquionne (Lyon) all rejoin their parent clubs.

Anthony Vanden Borre will also return to Serie A side Genoa, but Pompey are working on a new loan deal that will hopefully allow the defender to be come back to Fratton Park for a further season.

Angelos Basinas, Jamie Ashdown, Steve Finnan and OJ Koroma have all been released.

Portsmouth FC would like to thank the departing players for their tremendous service to the club during their time on the south coast.

How is this possible, have I missed the point where they are now a solvent business, HELLO F.A. are you watching, hey unsecured creditors, are you happy with money being spent on signing on fees, whilst being shafted by a 5p a year deal. This stinks if true, I'm so angry I could burst.

Also, I asked this before, and never got a satisfactory answer, and I feel it's important. Someone posted that if one person is paid off in full, then all must be paid in full. Now if Portpin are the company, who now effectively owns Poopey and it's sh1thole stadium, are paying off in full, all unsecured creditors under £2,500. Then surely there is a case for those, with debts owing to them, above this threshold, to demand payment in full.

It is not Chainrai paying out of his own pocket as some would believe, but the above company, which he owns.

Confused:confused: I am!

Utterly disgusting.

At which point does this become criminal? It cannot be far away, surely!

And if they think Anthony Vanden Borre will play in the championship, they really are insane.

There is a big difference between offering a contract and having it accepted.

IMO this is just more spin from the Android.

Sure, they've offered the contracts, but anyone know what's in them? It could be a contract to pay them £250 per week for all anyone knows.

I'd suggest everyone just chillout, relax and see how many of those contracts get accepted - none would be my guess, but at least Android can then turn round and say they were shafted by the players after offering them a new contract ;)
