Pompey Takeover Saga

It seems AA is trying to fix the vote on accepting the CVA by counting a debt to Pompey from Cantberbury (the kit sponsor/supplier that went bust) as a debt from Pompey to Canterbury - meaning they are actually £4million better off than they pretend to be - and this £4 million reduces the % of the debt owed to HMRC and there ability to vote against the CVA.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/may/14/portsmouth-debt-administration-missing-funds

HMRC have reserved the right to challenge AA's position as administrator - and if the CVA gets passed I can see them doing this!

Reading between the lines it looks as though HMRC are determined not to let Pompey get away with it.

At the very least Pompey should start next season with a points reduction and be forced to use all of the 4 years parchute payment to pay-off their debts.

Still nice new away shirt for them - wasn't pink on of their original kit colurs!?

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/leagues/premierleague/chelsea/7719775/FA-Cup-final-Chelsea-v-Portsmouth-preview.html

This is the 129th FA Cup final and the first time these teams have met in the competition at this stage. In all, they have played three times previously in the FA Cup with one win apiece and one game drawn.

But Portsmouth have failed to beat Chelsea in their last 27 meetings, in all competitions. Since Portsmouth beat Chelsea 1-0 in a League Cup tie, in December 1960, the teams have met 27 times with the London club winning 21 games and the remaining six finishing in draws.

I think Andronikou thinks he is a clever. What he fails to realise is that HMRC will let him dig his own grave and then shaft him good and proper. Anyone who thinks that they can get one over HMRC is not overly intelligent.

If it is obvious to us that he is trying to make sure that HMRC cannot block a CVA, then it will most certainly be obvious to HMRC. How they can determine what the debt is without doing a forensic investigation of the books is a mystery to me. If AA does manage to swing it so that HMRC appears to have less than 25%, then I imagine that it will end up in court again with forensic accounts being called in to go over the books. I realise that they want to do this 9 months down the road and once a new company has been set up, but if he tries to freeze out HMRC I suspect that they will dump on him from a very big height.

I am not sure if what he is doing is fraudulent or not, but if a custodial sentence is the punishment, then I wouldn't be surprised if they go after him.

If the taxman challenged AA and the court appointed a new independent administrator it would scupper all Chanrai's plans and would surely lead to a proper enquiry, further charges and likely liquidation.

And I refuse to watch or listen to any Grant interview until he puts his West Ham top on, and I won't be that interested then.

From his comments he's obviously mentally-ill and should team up with AdamAnt so they can both get help.

THE BULLS#!T CONTINUES !!!!!!!

Avram Grant hails Portsmouth FA Cup 'fairytale'

"Everybody remembers when Sunderland beat Leeds United. This is what football in England is about. This is the fairytale," added the Israeli, recalling the 1973 final when the then-second division north east club stunned FA Cup holders Leeds 1-0 at Wembley.

And everybody also remembers when Southampton beat Manchester United in 1976 too, Avram, when the second division Southern club stunned FA Cup giants Manchester United. As we're the more local club to your shower and our upset was 3 years more recent than theirs, one would have expected you to have used us as an example.

Avram Grant hails Portsmouth FA Cup 'fairytale'

Grant looks forward to 'miracle' final

Portsmouth manager Avram Grant has claimed that his side's run to the FA Cup final has boosted the competition. Grant faces a Chelsea side hoping to complete their first league and FA Cup Double on Saturday.

And Grant believes that victory for the beleaguered south-coast club after a season that saw it enter administration will add to the Cup's mystique.

"Nobody remembers if Chelsea or Man United win the Cup. This final is good for English football," he said.

Grant, who led Chelsea to the 2008 Champions League final during his stint in charge at Stamford Bridge, added: "There will be a final between Chelsea and Manchester United - so what? Chelsea and United is good for the Champions League final. But it doesn't add anything to the FA Cup.

"Everybody remembers when Sunderland beat Leeds United. This is what football in England is about. This is the fairytale," added the Israeli, recalling the 1973 final when the then-second division north east club stunned FA Cup holders Leeds 1-0 at Wembley.

"This is the only place in the world where this can happen.

Portsmouth finished bottom of the Premier League after a season which saw them change ownership four times and docked nine points after being forced into administration in March.

"The Premier League should be proud of us," Grant added.

"They should go to each and every one of our supporters and say 'you kept the true spirit of the Premier League alive'.

"When I look from the outside I don't believe it. It's impossible. How can we do it this year, go to Wembley with so much pride with our heads held high? This is why I was so happy after the semi-final.

"Tottenham are a team that's scored a lot of goals - goals against Chelsea, Arsenal, Man United - everybody. Against us for 120 minutes, with a lot of injuries and players who couldn't play for us, they couldn't score. We score two and win. It was amazing", said Grant of Pompey's semi-final upset of Spurs.

"All through the Cup I've felt good. We said there are many things that we can't change that happen off the pitch. To be in high spirits with good character on the pitch, this is something we can do."

Phucking unbeleivable

Please can you provide a warning before posting pictures of TCWTB ..... I am trying to eat my lunch :vom:

TBH it's the kids I feel sorry for.

I'm becoming pretty much indifferent on the bloke really - fair play to him for his dedication and all that....

...just wish the dedication was towards a club that was worth supporting... :-D

Quite telling that part of the article goes as follows:

'After I leave work I can forget the p's and q's, and become my real self.'

In summary, he is as false as he is thuggish.

I'm surprised and horrified to see that Lloyds Bank is openly supporting Pompey today.

The Fareham branch is awash with blue and white and 'Pompey til I die' posters in the window.

I suggested to the cashier that if another local business stole money from charities and ripped off local businesses and financial institutions I wouldn't expect the bank to promote them, and asked her to inform the manager that not all customers approve of their stance.

Disgusting.

I didn't know that Hannibal Lecter ran a bookshop.

Or is that a police photofit of AA?.....they have the same hairstylist, either way I didn't think he could look creepier than when in matchday mode.

I was wrong.

In real life he has a face like a tortoise, at football he just looks like a t*t.

Surely given their current state the posters should read 'Pompey til they die'??

Have a look here and read the list of controversies connected to them and you will see that Lloyds and the Skates deserve each other.

But if I were a customer of theirs, I would certainly go and see the manager and insist that they took those posters down, or else I would be contacting the Head Office to complain, especially as there must be several of the club's creditors who bank with them who would be offended by it.

Nope.

It was obvious they'd beat Cardiff in the final and quite a few backed them to beat Spurs in the SF but Chelsea are a class above and I'm confident of a Chelsea win as they want to cement themselves in football folklore.

Agreed.

They needed a lucky goal, a dodgy penalty decision and a wrongly disallowed Spurs goal to beat a poor (on the day) Spurs side.

There is no way they will get all that against a much better Chelsea side.

the same chelsea who bottled it at White Hart Lane.

we will see. I had the unfortunate timing to travel through waterloo after the semi final and badly want them to be humiliated, however, knowing our luck they will push chelsea all the way.

South Today fawning over P*mpey just now. I don't know why the media are so in love with them, they have sh!t support, a sh!t team (albeit better than ours), sh!t owners and a sh!t history. I've not decided yet whether i'm going to watch the final, but if Chelsea go 2-0 up inside 10 minutes, i'll see what time the next train down to Southsea is to pop down and have a look at the big screen! :D

I see Barry Hearn believes a rule change is necessary and the "cheats" should be relegated 2 divisions.

In June at the league chairmen's meeting I am proposing a rule change in which any club that goes into administration is automatically relegated two divisions
.

I can count 3 "cheating" and 1 "cheat" in this short article it seems the word is becoming fashionable.

Hearn believes that entering administration is effectively a form of cheating.

Should be an interesting AGM in June, I cannot believe he will let them "get away with it".

so storrie is still there, identifying players to bring in.Unbelievable.

If I was a creditor I would really want to know

Why is storrie ANYWHERE near the club(being paid as a consultant)

Why is there a new CEO ?(presumably being paid)

Why isn't everything being sold as quickly as possible to raise funds?

This is the legal duty of the administrator, isn't it?

A bit of bad news for us wanting them to get hammered, they wont. From what i'm told by a friend of mine who does corporate investigation for the HMRC, told me they will let P**pey have the CVA and then Liquidate the company, which then allows the HMRC to invoke CA2 rule which means they would then go after the former directors for the money owed.

She also told me that (in the case of Arry,Mandick &storrieteller) the HMRC wont take you to court unless they have a very good chance of winning!!

Oh! Dear in the s-hit if your a former or present director!!! ;)

Just seen the Storrie interview on the BBC site. As Kammy would sum it up

UNBELIEVABLE

They should be ****ing ashamed that he will be there tomorrow in an official capacity. No doubt he will be banned for life from football, but for him to suggest he might be there next year staggers belief - but then they always have lived on fantasy island.

Will be very interested to see the Pimply fans reaction to him tomorrow.
