Pompey Takeover Saga

For those with an interest in forum politics, let it be known thus:

That, on this day, benjii did decree to grant a final reprieve to Matthew Le God.

fin

So I can't accuse anyone of using the word ironic incorrectly anymore?

You spoil all my fun! :(

Current odds from Bet365:

Chelsea 1/4 Draw 9/2 Skates 11/1

LMFAO, I mean when we were a "lowly" second tier club playing the "mighty" Man U the odds were only 4/1...

Might chuck a tenner on the skates then,win/win either way. Sorry to be a pedant but we were 7/1 back in 76 btw.

Lol @ the one who said they could have had 3 more loanees in Jan without the embargo as these would cost less than buying a player. How many slaps round the head with a wet fish does it take to impose the concept of empty coffers?!

Lol and the referees love them. When he was losing a few games back he was implying that they were cheating for not giving them a penalty

Everyone could follow your lead and I'll be left talking to myself. :)

(You may or may not have read that if you have put me on your ignore list already, in fact you wouldn't be able to read this so I'll stop)

Then I'll quote you, so he doesn't miss your wit and wisdom.

Unless he now has me on ignore also?

I'm guessing these are the more intelligent of the blue few because they can read and write. But even then they appear to have no real grasp of the situation they are in or the reasons they are in this position. Either that or they dont want to know.

One of the posters on there tried to bring some sanity to the discussion saying that they didn't have any money, and he was had a go at for not understanding.

Bizarre or what?

Ali Al Forkup said

"If our 'owners' had invested money rather than sucked it out of the club - we would still have Begovic and Kaboul and we couldve stayed up... but its a moot point now and to be honest I 4-1 have had my fil of prem football and the loose morals double standards and greed that come with it... good riddance!"

Now that just about describes irony to a the nth degree.

Better odd than I got I has a fiver at 6-1 at the time, not a lot I know but when you only earned £14 a week it was a lot of money but the reward was 2 weeks wages :D

As much as it galls me to say it, I had to chuckle at the words at the bottom of one of the posters signatures:

F.A. wherever you may be

Sitting in your box at Wembley

You took 9 pts but we dont give a f***

Cause were going down with the FA Cup!!!

Eyes down, look in. The day of voting has arrived!

HMRC's debts make up only 18% of the unsecured total (everything apart from Chainrai's loan and smaller amounts owed to banks) so it cannot block a CVA proposal on its own. It can, however, ask for a place on a creditors' committee that will oversee Andronikou's likely supervision of the CVA and voting for that body will also take place on Thursday.

Gaydamak's investment vehicle Ocadia, the PFA and French clubs Lens and Rennes are among the other candidates for a seat on the three-to-five-strong committee.

http://www.tribalfootball.com/are-you-mad-brown-miss-portsmouth-fa-cup-final-birth-child-819981

Portsmouth midfielder Michael Brown could miss the FA Cup final as his wife is due to give birth around the same time.

Brown, expecting his second child, is the latest Pompey star struggling to face Chelsea at Wembley on May 15.

He said: "Everybody asks me 'what would you do?' Hopefully that is a decision that would not have to be made.

"The missus is getting in the way a bit at the moment. We will keep checking on her and see how things are going.

"That and sitting on the Swiss ball so hopefully it does the trick."

That is one good excuse for not being part of the biggest cheating con in sport

It will only take another 7% of debt owed (18% of the vote is held by HMRC) to refuse a CVA. With Gadymank being amongst that group of unsecured creditors, it looks highly unlikely they will get an agreed CVA.

Gayboy will accept the CVA.

if the debt was say 5 million and it was inflated to 30 million, 20p in the pound and you are still up on the deal.

And as for Grant demanding someone is punished. Lets start with him.

When the club couldnt pay its curent wage bill, two players spookily paid up thier contracts.....Grant signed them up and added half a million in agents fees to the debt and then still banged on at how unfair it was he wasnt allowed to sign anybody......with what avaram with ******* what

The vote for that is within 28 days time. Today is about who will make up the creditors committee to oversee what AA is preposing to the creditors.

My understanding is that value will be proposed, ie 20p in the £1, a 75% vote supporting a CVA is needed today to move towards a vote in 28 days time where 50% is required.

the tax man is 18% of the objectors.

Where will the other objectors come from? When it comes to money you need people who would rather write off money than let them get away with it.

David Sullivan on West Hams wage bill:

“Obviously, in addition a lot of players get sign-on fees, appearance money [up to £10,000-a-game], image rights, loyalty payments, and we pay 12.98 per cent National Insurance.”

I wonder who that last bit is aimed at?

The Gaydamak - Chanrai relationship is important. I've always assumed they are both in it together but if Gaydamak wants to block a CVA he can. And according to the BBC blocking a CVA would most likely cause PFC to be liquidated - which could free up Gaydamak's land for redevelopment.

Ridiculous.

How on earth are they allowed to get away with this?

It's got beyond a joke. The % for the CVA must have been tight - up goes the debt by another 18 million.

Time for the authorties to step in, this is just plain stupid.

I really don't think he would vote against it, but..........

I would absolutely love it if he did AND this led to club being wound up BEFORE the cup final which was then cancelled with Chelski just being given the cup.

I would enjoy this not only for the obvious reason but also because it would be a slap in the face for the FA!

Forgetting the Admin side of things for one moment, another very clear issue is coming very clear.

It has now taken an age for AA to reach a set of figures that shows the financial situation at the PCFC Ltd.

This is a legal entity and is subject to Corporate Compliance legislation beyond the Admin mess we are currently focused upon.

It is extremely clear that the Officers of The Company (ie the Directors) had no control over nor Governance over the internal Business Processes.

There are pages and pages of Company Law which detail the legal responsibilities of the Officers of a Company, and not withstanding the mess of the current PCFC (in Admin), the DTI (or this month's name) has a legal duty to pursue the former Directors for Gross Negligence and incompetence.

Again, being negligent becomes a new issue for the smaller creditors and could lead to personal liability issues.

The mess isn't done yet, other Criminal & Civil cases could yet join the queue at the Laughing Stock

They are hinting at 20p in the £ to be paid back over FIVE YEARS.

I'm sure a fair few companies would be at serious risk of going to the wall with proposals like that. So why would they agree to a CVA ?
