Balanced view about the man on the mic from Patrick Barclay (about half way down page)

Nice one. One quibble though:

The football authorities, notably the Premier League, bent over backwards to help Portsmouth — indeed were far too lenient with successive owners — and for Grant to imply that “they” were in any way to blame for the supporters’ travails was an insult to his audience’s intelligence.

Doesn't he realise that it's impossible to insult the intelligence of the skate audience found in Krap Nottarf?

So the name being bandied around as the money behind the Rob Lloyd bid is....

Peter De Sisto

Is this the guy who ruined Petersfield FC?

Surely you don't mean the 'Abramovich of the Wessex League'?

What a prize knob. I used to enjoy beating them on their crappy ground.

Doesn't the mental bell ringer have his bookshop in Petersfield? Maybe he has a Marc Jackson sort of role in this. Hope so.

I think that many of the creditors listed by the adminstrator could be deemed to be "connected creditors", who have failed to obtain valid security against the assets of PCFC Ltd. The importance of this distinction is, to repeat a mantra of mine, crucial in determining the ranking of the creditors and thus their place in the queue. Now, "unsecured connected creditors" rank just ahead of shareholders and behind the HMRC, in this queue. When it comes to the vote on the CVA, the following rules apply:

At the meeting the creditors vote on the proposal and the proposal will be approved if a majority vote of 75% by value of the total value of creditors at the meeting (whether in person or by proxy) vote in favour. A second vote excluding connected creditors is taken and provided that not more than 50% of creditors vote against the proposal it is approved.

I still believe that a winding up order is possible for PCFC, but would appreciate any comments from those more experienced in insolvency law than me...

Attached is my enquiry with the FA and their reply. Not surprising really.

Sir In a recent article Mr Platini is quoted as saying “I’m not an expert of finance, but it was easy to understand that clubs like Portsmouth would be in big danger of going bankrupt and going down. We have to protect them. Why was this club winning [the FA Cup in 2008] with losses of £50 million? ......... ....................but it’s what has happened in football: you don’t have the money to buy the players, but you get the players and in the end you cheat and win the competition. That’s not correct.” If the Presedent of EUFA considers PFC to have cheated their way to the FA cup final, can you please explain to me why they have not been replaced with one of the losing semi finalists Regards Andy

Dear Andy

Thank you for contacting The Football Association.

The club, like all competing in The FA Cup, are subject to the Rules of the Competition, but we cannot comment further on the specifics of individual cases.

Cheers Mr Burwood

You add absolutely no value with your response whatsoever. And if I was your boss you would be fired for not being more proactive with PR to limit the damage caused by Pompey debasing your competition on a global level.

It really doesn't matter what subject or topic it is, their fans possess the most deluded views ever, in the entire history of the sport.

Where can I find a copy of the league table when he took over?

Points scored for teams that were at the bottom since AG took over.

Everton...........43

Blackburn.........30

Bolton..............25

WW.................25

West Ham.........23

Wigan...............22

Pompey............21

Hull..................17

Burnley.............10

So, the Miracle man only scored more points than the 2 Championship teams that are somehow playing this year in the EPL.

I've just realised what is going to be played just before the teams come out on cup final day, as they let each team have one song directly before the teams come out.... and guess which one Chelsea have...

Lol, There's that karma thing again.

An interesting point was raised to me recently. No idea how it works or if it is true.

Season Ticket renewals will be paid into a "Holding account", however as the Ticket Holders will have paid money into the club in return for future services, then it is highly possible that they will become Creditors of the club and can have a proxy vote in the CVA decision.

Meanwhile, Andronikou says the fact that Pompey have debts totalling £119million, will not put off parties interested in buying the club.

"I do not believe that the figures will come as a surprise to anyone who has been interested in buying the club, when they do due diligence it is there for them to see," Andronikou told ESPN Soccernet

His ******* interviews are quality. I think he is trying to fill the void left by Mr Storrie teller.

So whether they are 70 million in debt or 120 million, it won't put intrested parties off.:confused:

although, given the level of support shown by cup final sales and turnouts for PL games, this may amount to only a fairly small hill of beans.

Is the creditors meeting still on for thursday?

Any money from season ticket sales would constitute 'new debt' and NOT be part of the original CVA. Therefore no voting rights.

Has this one been mentioned, looks like the saviour of Poopey;)

Do you have any real evidence that Kraft could be a bidder? I live in the Boston area, am a huge Pats fan, and have been saying all along that the Kraft family would be the best possible solution for Pompey. Portsmouth today looks very much like the Patriots looked back when Kraft bought the team: down and out, broke, losing record, ancient facility. Patriots went on to become a powerhouse in the league, 3 Superbowl victories, a state-of-the-art stadium, etc.

If Kraft buys the team I will be over the moon.

They've got to have someone interested in the first place, to be able to be put off by the higher figures.

"I do not believe that the figures will come as a surprise to anyone who has been interested in buying the club'', because no-one has been interested in buying the club. :D

Any news on Cardiff??

Are they dead yet?

Nothing on BBC yet...

... the ironic thing is, if they get wound up today then it will be Swansea who will take their place in the play-offs!! Not been on their message boards but there must be some grief going on between fans on there!!

Edit: Given another 42 days...

I would imagine that the prospective buyers are waiting to watch this program. I can't wait to see Tony Husbands hard hitting documentary, at the end of which, he laughs at some lame joke from Sally Taylor.

Sally: "Thank you, Tony. I wonder if that's the last we see of John W******ds bell?"

Tony: "I bet you'd love to see his bell end, Sally"

Cue laughter and cut to the weather...

Highly doubtful IMO.

They would only become creditors if they were owed money.

They will only be owed money if PFC fails to fulfil the terms of the contract for the purchase of season tickets.

I can't see, therefore, how they could possible be creditors until such date as PFC has failed to provide them with what it sold them (ie the start of next season).

Given the talk on here of how Pompey being wound up would effect us & the play-offs - I'm lead to believe that they aren't the best of friends.

That isn't ironic.

You must be an Alanis Alanis Morissette fan...

You really are by far the dullest and most insipid poster in this board.

You do my nut.

Solution

Can I block posts, emails and messages from specific users?

If there are particular members that bother you and you do not want to see their posts or receive Private Messages and Emails from them, then you can add these members to your 'Ignore List'. There are several ways to do this:

Through your User Control Panel: User CP, Settings & Options, Edit Ignore List. Then, type their name into the empty text box and click 'Okay'.

Irony is a state of affairs or an event that seems deliberately contrary to what one expects and is often amusing as a result.

-The New Oxford English Dictionary

By that definition, I think you could make a plausible case for Swansea replacing Cardiff in the play-offs being ironic

Yeah, good point! :)

That doesn't help everyone else though ;)

Everyone could follow your lead and I'll be left talking to myself. :)

(You may or may not have read that if you have put me on your ignore list already, in fact you wouldn't be able to read this so I'll stop)
