gaz Posted 6 April, 2010 Share Posted 6 April, 2010 I think that it would be funny if it was the serious fraud squad shelled out the 5K to get a look at the books under cover of a 'takeover' so that those who would eventually be hit by charges never knew what was coming. That would be BRILLIANT. I really hope thats what will happen

stevegrant Posted 6 April, 2010 Share Posted 6 April, 2010 excellent. so the one party that is interested isn't even willing to stump up £3m to enter into a exclusivity period. brilliant. i would guess that the proof of funds is his santander current account bank statement. To be fair, you'd have to be a complete idiot to pay a £3m non-refundable deposit just to get a look at the books - imagine the sort of **** they're likely to find!! Channon's Sideburns Posted 6 April, 2010 Share Posted 6 April, 2010 Just came across this on their site from last week.... 'As of Thursday, April 1 2010, the ticket office in Rodney Road will no longer be able to accept cheques as a method of payment. From this date, credit/debit cards and cash (in person purchasers only) will be the only valid forms of payment when purchasing seats through the ticket office.' Ehhh???? No wonder they've hit the bottom of the sea if they've been accepting cheques for payment for tickets. Thought they weren't allowed to use their bank account anyway??? Did Fuglers get the funds before then? Anyway, side issue I guess, but I wanted to find out how many they've sold. No mention.....as yet. Guess they're hawking them round Collingwood as we speak. Rob Lloyd the proposed new owner of Portsmouth City Football Club has made his first television interview since his bid for the club was accepted by the administrator. Speaking to Sky Sports News, Mr. Lloyd was asked what his background is and who was behind his consortium. He told the programme... 'I was trained by Xerox, many many many years ago. I'm a business strategist, many people say I'm a photocopying salesman, which I always find quite amusing.' 'I actually have been in the past, been heavily involved in the fitting out of Southampton football club stadium. Obviously I have an IT background, sales background, but also I have had involvement at Southampton Academy and scouting for many, many years.' 'To give you an instance I was involved in the scouting of Adam Lallana from Bournemouth sadly, to Southampton.' 'I have many, many contacts in football, I have many contacts abroad as well, in American MLS football as well as in Dubai.' 'So it's a mixture of many many things, all put together with a vision for a football club and we are going to drop the blueprint into here, but all will be revealed.' When asked if it was his money he was investing in Portsmouth City Football Club, Lloyd smiled and said... 'It is a consortium' When pushed on who is in the consortium, he added... 'That is, something that really and honestly will never be answered properly and completely, but the truth of the matter is, there will be answers to that to an extent in tomorrow's (Wednesday) press conference.' :smt043

NickG Posted 6 April, 2010 Share Posted 6 April, 2010 FA Cup ticket sales Had the Quay on this evening. They were talking about their fa cup ticket sales. The presenter said he was embaressed as they were going to go on general sale. They offered 2 per season ticket holder (12,000 so they said) also offered to members (2,000) also offered to anyone who has been to 3 home games this season and still going on general sale no, but said he would expect all season ticket holders to take up their two, plus members - giving 26,000, and there should be at least a couple of thousand who have been to three games, taking it to 28,000 who should be demanding their ticket. But surely, if he doesn't know how much Mr Moneybags Lloyd is bringing to the table, he doesn't know how much moolah he's got to divvy up between the creditors? Yes? My take is he's trying to get a CVA approved 'in principle' first from all the creditors, then he'll know how much money he needs to go looking for... What you say seems pretty reasonable to me, but what do I know? This is the first I've seen of a report that the solitary prospective buyer of the club has now changed. This really is descending ever deeper into the realms of pure farce. If I were a Skate fan (God forbid), I would be feeling even more apprehensive about the chances of the club surviving total liquidation.

rallyboy Posted 7 April, 2010 Share Posted 7 April, 2010 So these are the recent developments - Mystery billionaire approaches Lloyd to front his bid and protect his identity - plausible. Lloyd takes this on with promise of money or a role in the new era - yeah, I get that.Backer sobers up and decides it's a crazy idea - very plausible. Lloyd continues without the funding for no apparent reason, then stumbles across a second billionaire - for me, this is where it starts to fall down... For a bloke whose own company is in big trouble he has quite a knack of plucking dim billionaires out of nowhere. We have either a man who wants a free day out at Wembley and a bit of an ego boost, or a shrewd player who knows billionaires aplenty and has the skills to negotiate them through the worst set of accounts they will ever see.
