Pompey Takeover Saga

Dozens of football hooligans are warned to steer clear of Pompey's FA Cup clash - or face jail.

Ninety-two fans are banned from football matches - more than any other premiership club.

In Portsmouth, extra patrols will be made in areas including Guildhall Walk where thousands of fans are

expected to watch the match in pubs and bars. And a dedicated team of officers will be on-hand

to deal with football-related trouble.

Hahaha, good chance for any fans who want a game, just bring your kit and you're in !
who has the quote from AA that none of their star or first team squad would be sold pre the FA cup semi final. Lol

So much for transparency

Sorry unable to provide a link yet. According to the News Wires a takeover bid is being made for Portsmouth. Proof of funds, Premier fit and proper person completed and takeover to be completed by middle of next week.

New owners are the Bank of Commerce and Credit. They are far richer than Markus (eek).

:(

I think the wheels of Karma justice are starting to turn, I see a squad depleting to the level it should have been all season, and there seems little sign of debt-clearance or new ownership.

And I still can't believe that they paid the 3rd choice keeper £5000 a minute to sit on a bench!

They're going to get absolutely thrashed at Wembley and I'm going to love it!

the problem with that is that Spurs have the classic 'we will walk this' type of mentality in their squad that they could well underrate them and fall for it

longest gap between posts on here?

2 1/2 hours!

All gone quiet - they have got away with it!

Nah, it's just the eye of the storm.;)

Everything's just waiting on 2 things - losing to Spuds and relegation confirmed. Once the FL let their dogs lose things will get very messy.

They're still in denial: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/606/A65893918

Just when will it sink in?

clueless!

they'll lose 80% of their current first team and will be left to get freebies and loans, building a squad to compete for the bottom half of the championship.

if they are challenging for promotion next season i will agree with nickh's mind set - that they've got away with it.

AA made the position very clear in his interviews reported last week. The ONLY option he has is to put together some kind of CVA and hope the creditors go for it, with Chainrai remaining as owner. The only problem with that plan is that it requires Chainrai to put MORE money into the club now. IF he is secured, he appears to be the only substantial secured creditor, so he'll get his money back from sale of the assets in liquidation anyway.

Apart from the odd leak about previous misdemeanours, and consequent future points deductions, I'm not expecting anything to happen on the admin front until after they get dumped out of the FA cup by Saggy. I'm guessing that AA is clinging to the forlorn hope that he might be able to sell this year's FA cup winners. Once that door is slammed shut he will have to face the facts. Unless he can secure a large injection of cash from somewhere, he will have to seriously consider liquidation.

The longer it goes on the way it is now, the worse it gets for them. I'm pretty sure that AA is haemorraging around £1m a week of next season's income at the moment just to keep them going. The longer he leaves it, the less he has to offer the creditors in the CVA while keeping enough back to at least try to run some kind of football operation next season.

So let's hope that the semi-final gets postponed due to weather for a few extra weeks! :D

Lloyd is fronting a group of investors interested in taking on the club and Andronikou expects him to lodge a non-refundable deposit of £3 million with the administrators' lawyers on Tuesday

Right link? The article is dated 16th March.

Two links from the Skatey news site.

(Two irrelevant thoughts - firstly I'm impressed that someone in Skateland reads the Guardian, and secondly, I wonder if Chainrai is still friends with Yossifoff after being stitched up by him for £17mill.)

IS it just me, or is that whole article as murky as Portsmouth?

"I have not met Ali al-Faraj at any time. I met Ali al-Faraj's brother – Ahmed al-Faraj – Daniel Azougy and Mark Jacob with Yoram Yossifoff. They were the consortium representatives [who wished to buy Portsmouth from Sulaiman al-Fahim] and they showed me letters from two major banks, stating they were ready to finance the club but it would take six to eight weeks to arrange.

"It was on that basis that Portpin, a company owned by me and my partner Levi Kushnir, made the short-term bridging [loan] against the club shares and other assets as collateral," he said of the loan that amounted to at least £17m.

"My company is a family owned business in Hong Kong," he said, "and is involved in trading and trade finance and has been doing so successfully since 1949. I saw this as a straightforward business opportunity. But I must emphasise we had no personal or business relationship with Ali al-Faraj, Ahmed al-Faraj, Daniel Azougy or Mark Jacob, previously. And we only met them through Yoram Yossifoff after we had agreed to make the short-term bridging [loan]. I had no knowledge of who was in the consortium that owned Portsmouth."[/Quote]

So, he met them, they showed paperwork, he offered loan.

So, how could he have never met them until after he loaned the money

Let's hope Storrie gets his Storrie straighter than that for his visit to the beak!
