Pompey Takeover Saga

I thought Grant was alright at Chelsea, even a bit hard done by but he has proved to be a sh1t-bag of the first order, bleating on and on how unfair everyone is to Poopey.

Now whinging on that a player they should never have been allowed to sign might have to leave and asking YET a-effing-gain for the authorities to bend the rules for poor little Poopeyto gain an unfair advantage with O'Hara.

If you are financially sh@gged, play the youngsters, it is what every other team has had to do in such circumstances.

And, most of all STFU

If Grant thinks he can not do his job then he should tender his resignation to Andy Android. He can't continue to bleat about how unfair the PL are being. He maybe should have read the rule book before taking a job in this country. If he wants somebody to blame, he should start with Storrie and move on to just about anybody associated with the club's executive decisions over the past 5 or more years.

By the way, good to see that parenting skills are being kept up in Southampton. I see even football hooliganism is a father son bonding experience for you lot now (ps, PMSL that you've got a hoolie called "Xavier")

Fourteen men have appeared in court charged with violent disorder following clashes between rival Portsmouth and Southampton fans.

Only one of the accused - Alan Taylor, 30, of Milton Road, Southampton - pleaded guilty at Southampton Magistrates Court yesterday.

The men, including Martin Bishop, 42, of Wheatlands, Fareham, are all charged over violence that erupted between fans before and after Pompey beat Saints 4-1 at St Mary's Stadium in Southampton last month.

Their appearances came as police investigating trouble released footage to The News of clashes between fans near the ground in Britannia Road following the game.

The shots, filmed from Hampshire Constabulary's fixed-wing aircraft, show an angry mob of hundreds of Southampton fans rush through the forecourt of Freeborn garage opposite St Mary's stadium after the match, hurling abuse at Pompey fans.

Police officers in fluorescent yellow jackets can be seen trying to stop the baying crowd from breaking through a metal fence and rushing towards their rivals.

Pompey fan Keith Strevett, 77, of South Road, Horndean, suffered a head injury after being hit by a rock thrown by opposing fans in Britannia Road.

And fellow fan Robert Graeney, 51, of Kimberley Road, Southsea, Portsmouth, suffered a cut about one in long below his left eye after being hit by flying debris.

About £30,000 worth of damage was done to property at the Freeborn garage during the trouble.

So far eight men have been charged after police released CCTV of 10 suspects wanted in relation to violence on derby day.

In total 23 men have now been arrested and charged as part of Operation Austen.

James Koral, 20, of Haddon Drive, Eastleigh, Michael Byles, 24, of Aldemoor Road, Southampton, Matthew Hinton, 19, of Hillside Avenue, Southampton and Ross Phillips, 28, of Swift road, Southampton, also appeared before Southampton magistrates yesterday.

Lewis Buckley, 24, of The Milburns, Romsey, James Smith, 34, of Brentwood Crescent, Southampton, Christopher Stevens, 46, of Stagbrake Close, Southampton, Xavier Whyte, 22, of Wilton Road, Southampton, Kevin Medway, 28, of Old Farm Drive, Townhill Park, Southampton, also appeared.

And Stephen Jordan, 49, and son Cameron Jordan, 21, of Middle Road, Southampton, and Marcus Bevan, 22, of Warburton Road, Southampton appeared before the court.

More than 260 officers were involved in policing the match on February 13, including mounted officers on horseback from Thames Valley Police, police dog handlers and the British Transport Police.

Taylor was released on unconditional bail to appear at Southampton crown Court for sentencing on April 22. The remaining 13 accused were released on unconditional bail to appear at Southampton crown Court on May 7.

I have to say I'm very disappointed there are no Stuart X's from Romsey on that list. I thought given his military training he'd have been a shoo in to be leading the charge

Congratulations for being a total diicckkhhead again.

I realise you have to clutch at straws to try and have a pop......but that story is hardly a scratch on your pathetic history of violence. How old was she???? Was it 13 (I think)??? And that is just on your recent history.

I applaud you sir, as you never fail to make us laugh at you. You are almost as funny as watching that joke of a football club you support whimper and squirm.

My position is nearly untenable. I can't go on like this. Oh, Is it Friday & payday, again? Another £20k safely tucked away in the bank. What the hell, let's give it another week, eh?

"Avram Grant believes the Premier League should admit they have made mistakes in their treatment of Portsmouth."

I think he is spot on and it disgraceful how they have been treated:

- the transfer embargo should never have been lifted

- the nine points should have been deducted as soon as they went into administration

- the £1m fine is nowhere near enough for the way they have disregarded the premiership rules and other clubs.

- the current owner has never been through the Fit and Proper Person test

- why should they be allowed to play players they clearly can’t afford

- they shouldn’t have been allowed to bring in load players when they cant afford to pay the wages of the players they have

- why should they be allowed to sell players outside the transfer window? It’s a mess of their own making so why should the rules be ‘bent’ for them?

I’m sure there more that could be added.

So a message to Avram….just shut the ffuucckk up and stop whinging.

I must admit the O'Hara saga gave me the biggest lol of the day today.

Grant: Hello Harry, we were wondering if we could play our best player against you in the FA Cup Semi Final, Jamie O'Hara, thus diminishing your chances of progressing to the final?

Harry: No, **** off.

Grant: Oh ok. Can you lend us Defoe?

Harry: Hell No. Can you please tell Andronikou for me that Portsmouth owe me £5million. Ta chuck.

The skates always make a deal of not having enough players for the squad. Such a load of rubbish. Never to seem to mention their reserves of youth sides. What a joke.

For all their whining I notice they had a full complement of 18 established pros (so to speak) against Chelsea, who had two untried teenagers on their bench.

Two out injured from Tuesday (& Rocha might still be fit) - two up from the bench & two teenagers brought in. If it's good enough for Chelsea, it really ought to be good enough for Poopey

Yesterday Tottenham announced a loss of £6.1 million for the six-month period until the end of December. Revenue fell by £1 million to £53 million.

And so the redknapp virus starts its destructive infection of another new host club...

It would be so sweet to see the spuds go the way of the skates, bagpuss really is a human wrecking ball.

Well done Bournemouth, they have got their transfer embargo lifted.....by doing the right thing and settling their debts

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/b/bournemouth/8590057.stm

That really ought to be brought to the attention of the blue few, perhaps they may even be educated by it and understand that Bournemouth have had a transfer embargo (and been refused emergency loans when they've had to play players with injuries) over a £314k tax bill - and that embargo's been in place for 15 months. How much do Pompey owe HMRC again?

Yes that really will persuade Spurs to plead with the FA to allow OHara to play against them, and risk all the money from a final :D

At least "Arry appears to be very consistant and treats all his clubs the same .

Apparently, they can in the FA cup. Harry must be mad!

What happens if O'Hara had a blinder and made all the difference. Neither Spuds fans or board would be very happy. Perhaps Harry owes Peter one, perhaps for keeping his mouth shut.

H*rrys not mad, he's a thieving c*nt.

"It wouldn't be a problem for me [if O'Hara played against Spurs next month]," said Redknapp, "but it may be a problem for Jamie. He's coming back here next season and that may be difficult for him if he has scored the goal that's knocked us out of the FA Cup."

In other words, 'Arry is doing his usual arse covering to the press but is actually sending out a huge warning to O'Hara. I reckon O'Hara will be strangely injured in training on the friday...

Everybody at least once in their life should have the privilege of attending a Harry Redknapp pre-match press conference.

It really is a media f**k-fest, the epitome of mutual sycophancy and relieved desperation.

It works like this.

The media and Redknapp love each other, especially Sky, whose whole sports news coverage is based on the 30-second sound-bite, which Redknapp has down to a fine art (you can imagine him talking to Sandra in soundbites).

The media love Harry because they know he will comment on any football topic.

Desperate sports editors will send reporters along with instructions to: "ask Harry about..."

The topic in question will have no bearing on the game Redknapp's team is involved in the following da,y but that doesn't matter, he will comment on it. He can't help it, he can't keep his mouth shut.

Thus: "Harry, I know Spurs are playing p****y tomorrow, but what are your views on the situation at Celtic/West Ham/Stoke/Stevenage Borough?"

Or: "Harry, what do you think of player X/Y/Z (who has nothing whatsoever to do with you club, but who you will inevitably say you admire as a player, and therefore give us a line to speculate that are interested in signing him)?"

Harry is like a performing, one-trick pony. Ask him a question, and he will answer it, and to that end, he is manna from heaven for sports editors with airtime/pages to fill.

The price tag, of course, is that Redknapp has never been turned over by a media which is smart enough to know you don't bite the hand that feeds it.

Just about any journo who has worked in the English sports media has Redknapp's mobile number. For f**k's sake, even I've got it!

But I suspect the tide might just be turning. And if he poops on Spurs and leaves them in a mess there are enough Spurs fans in positions of authority in the media who might turn on him.

...Not like you arrogant bunch of schoolgirls who believe that because you spent a while in the top flight you "belong" there. You've got no more right to be there than anyone and clubs like Forest, Norwich, Boro, Leeds etc show that even if you get back there there's a good chance you'll be relegated again within a couple of seasons...

"Arrogant"...?...corpy-ho-ho-ho that's a diamond. I'm losing count these days as the self-proclaimed "bestest fans in the world" go on about being where they "belong"...and you really couldn't have been around in the 80s leading up to your return back to "where we belong" and what you were gonna do when you got there....oh dear.

Why are you girls getting so worked up about a story (in The Mirror of all places) that doesn't contain one actual quote?

It's good to see that your complete and utter disinterest in all things Pompey is still in place though.

Good luck in the B & Q Own Label Tin of Emulsion Trophy though. Will you "paint the town red" if you win?

Yes. And we'll use the same shade of red that personifies your current predicament, the same red that you're deeply in financially. Mind you, as you're also deep in the sh*t, yours ought to be more accurately a sort of reddy brown.

I love this quote from Avram on O'Hara playing against Spurs in the semi.

"But if you are not in a top team it is not often that you get to a semi-final at Wembley, especially at Portsmouth, and Jamie wants to play this semi-final very much."

"I can promise Tottenham that he will not score against them."

Surprised he can get away with saying that and I think he has made that promise to quite a few teams this season, going by the amount of goals they have scored.

Surely that would class as match fixing. Can Pimpey afford to break anymore rules this season? I think its time AA put a lead on AG.

What a lot of tosh!

Was it our fault that we had 4 managers in one season? Signed a lot of dross, causing relegation? Barclays called in our overdraft? Had to play a team of youngsters not up to the job? Started the season on minus 10? No, it was the club's owners!

So if you've got a midfield player that's not allowed to score (and presumably not allowed to assist in scoring or make a goal saving last ditch tackle or block, because they too could affect the score and outcome of the game), Why the fook do they want to play him?
