Pompey Takeover Saga

Ah right, so an administrator will give the quote and if the creditor thinks its acceptable then he can apoint that administrator. Then the fees get paid at the end.

I wasnt sure if that initial quote was to be paid before the admin gets started so that his back is covered because he is liable or something.

Not really going anywhere with this point but was just trying to understand.

Now, I would never say this in the context of British Business Practices, but in a Mediteraneanish Middle Easternish Orientish environment I would expect the conversation over dinner to go possibly along the lines of.

How much are your fees going to be?

Only that much?

Ah so if I was to win how much would they be?

Never happens outside this region though

Fantastic News! In all fairness, I want this to be a 'fresh' start for pompey and for better or worse I want Chainrai's involvement investigated and the administrator checked over.IMO best we could of hoped for.:)

Back in court on the 15th

Judge calls for another hearing to establish validity of appointment, week commencing 15/3. He wants evidence of payments b/w club & chainrai

Et voila, The 15th of March, the Ides of March and for our fishy friends the choice of dates is one they should be very well bewaring of.

Beware the Ides of March oh fishy ones. Who is the Brutus who will punge in that dagger to your back. Methinks it will be Storyteller who'll do it to save his own slimy skin.:D

Wouldn't say that. They would never have been WU today.

I would have said it is good that they are now going to do some investigation.

Roll on Friday !!

Yeah they havnt got away with anything today. If anything HMRC want things looked into more to make sure all is correct and the courts have granted there wish.

If its a dodgy deal and the courts did nothing today then they would have defo got away with it.

Just have to wait for the 12th/15th? to find out how dodgy if at all the whole admin/loans are.

On behalf of SWF Thread Team members I would like to thank Judge Norris for his Sterling efforts today and his decision to hold the next hearing on 15th March.

This will of course provide the extra boost and time required for us to push on and breach the magical 30,000 posts mark.

the downside is

I'm fecking working all day away from the innerweb

If you read his posts alongside the BBC Twitter feed through @BBC_Matt - there's a distinction.

Which is, the BBC are reporting the facts - The News are reporting what suits their target market - mushrooms.

The News reporter isn't in court - he's getting his information from his two colleagues that are, which probably explains the lack of info as he's probably getting it about third hand by the time it gets to him.

The BBC guy is tweeting direct from the court. Well, outside it I guess, as it's illegal to do so from in the court room. He'll have to keep running outside every ten minutes or risk being found in contempt!

is there any possibility they could be wound up on the 15th, if the administration deal turns out to be dodgy?

My guess is that there is no documents that prove that Chainrai was a secured creditor of PCFC so unless they get someone with a record of forging documents in court cases in they are probably going to come back fairly quickly and ask for the court to put them into admin instead.

This really messes up AAs plans, as anything he were to do could I guess be deemed (Illegal?) if he was found to have been wrongly appointed. So the whole admin process of selling everything they can, getting rid of staff etc must be put on hold until after the hearing in two weeks. Presumably then the PL wont take any points off of them until after this date too?

Now, who do we know with such a history ? ... It's on the tip of my tongue.....no, no, I just can't recall; maybe somebody in PFC's accounts department could help :D

Is that something they were trying to argue today? I mean the legality of Chainrai being able to put them into admin?

If so, Brilliant :D

two quotes

Mr Mitchell said the statement of affairs shows the club owe Portpin LTD £13.5m and the HMRC want evidence of that.

'We haven't so far had an answer to that,' he said.

Mr Mitchell said there are issues about money lent to the club.

He said Tanya Robins had said Portpin LTD had lent money to Falcondrone, not the club.

He said: 'We say that the evidence of Miss Robins is that Portpin provided money to Falcondrone not to the club so its all very mysterious.'

So, any chance of BC just holding his hands up and saying 'it's a fair cop' and opting for liquidation, or is that just too easy an option?

Also wonder whether Birmingham may consider postponement of the FA Cup game until PFC's legal status is resolved?

Because of the enormous sensitivity of the case,
Soccernet's
Fratton Park insider wishes to remain anonymous, but said: "The Revenue are out to break the rule which puts football creditors to the head of the queue and the Revenue down the pecking order.

"The Revenue are unhappy with this arrangement and want to use a big stick to get the government to intervene and impose regulations on football that the Revenue must be the number one creditor.

"The worry is that they have an agenda and are using a big stick against Portsmouth."

I wonder who Harry Harris's secret squirrel insider at pompey could be

Ah so they are questioning it but not directly. Sounds like they are setting up for the next question which will be "mr Judge, Can you now tell this bunch of idiots to get stuffed and can you get things done correctly so we can Wind this pathetic club up?"

Well would be nice if the Judge is as much of a Saint as HMRC is. lol
