Lord Duckhunter Posted 25 August, 2009 Share Posted 25 August, 2009 they will snap Villas hands off. He is not a player to help when the chips are down. I agree, however it's going to be another blow to the support and also keeps up the "crisis club" line in the press. I can't see how they're going to replace him, or get anyone decent in. If rumours of agents fees outstanding are true, the agents aren't exactly going to push them to their players.

Weston Super Saint Posted 25 August, 2009 Share Posted 25 August, 2009 Dubai Phil - heard anything about the rumours we have found another middle eastern investor - rumoured to be one of the prince's. To be announced by tomorrow, Al Fahim is leaving the board with Storrie as chairman. Storrie apparently has said its deffo a middle eastern new owner and its not SAF. no close of play tomorrow most money going on this bloke Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani - worth around $2B who knows though - getting as protracted and drawn out as your one was lol ! no one really knows. dubai_phil Posted 25 August, 2009 Share Posted 25 August, 2009 This is actually quite funny. So you've had a new owner since June of this year and yet you didn't know about it http://footballblips.dailyradar.com/story/mystery_surrounds_reports_of_uae_takeover/ Ras Al Khamaih is a growing emirate about 1 hour north of Dubai. It has built a very nice Golf resort Al Hamra Fort and is best known locally as home of MMI Cellars, purveoyors of fine wines without needing a booze licence. RAK is probably ranked as the 5th Emirate here. They went on a "let's follow Dubai| scramble and opened a Free Trade Zone which allows ex pats to have a business here cheaper than with other zones. There has been a lot of building of late, probably best known for RAK Ceramics. His personal pilot is a nice bloke, a Brit, good golfer, the bulk of the cabin crew are African. So in summary, the family have personal wealth, but the RAK Development COmpany who are building several thousand villas around the Al Hamra course and other developments aimed at promoting tourism announced earlier this year that in the first quarter of 2009 and they managed to sell.... Absolutely zero of the villas they were building. Decent guys, not zillionaires though

RAK airlines had been hoping to offer a low cost service to the South of England as part of their planned "Global brand Building Programme" linked with their much rumoured take over of struggling EPL team Portsmuff. Apparently, the first scheduled service, aimed at bringing the new owner to last night's match and doubling the attendance, was spotted trying to mistakenly land at Portsmuff Airport Late yesterday afternoon. A spokesman denied there had been a misunderstanding, insisting that they had been given documents by Portsmuff that showed they were a major force in the EPL and that was accompanied by maps clearly showing the location of the airport. Apparently the fact that the photographs were in Black & White had been put down to an error in the IT department. "We were a little concerned however when the photographs showed the crowds wearing flat caps and collars and ties whilst waving rattles, however we were led to believe that this was simply a local cultural habit, we totally deny the unfounded allegations that we did not notice that the documents supporting the bid were over 50 years old" An inquiry is expected. So regardless of how much he has left for players, they're in a much better position than they would have been without the takeover. No he hasn't. The problems he's had are getting the debts transferred to him. All that will have happened is that he's managed to convince someone to go guarantor to appease the banks (or managed to negotiate a repayment package based on their TV income over the season, which is far more likely, I would imagine). Unless he's discovered £30m he didn't know he had.

So regardless of how much he has left for players, they're in a much better position than they would have been without the takeover. I'm sure we'll hear this stated as FACT by the skates however the only ways that their debt has been wiped out is if: a) DR Al has paid it all off. Given how long this has taken highly unlikely b) The Bank and Gaydamak have agreed to write it off - Slightly more plausable in the case of Gaydamak but I still would bet my house against it. c) The Banks and Gaydamak are foreced to write it off as a result of the club going into administration. As far as I'm aware this hasn't happened. So, in summary, they are still in debt. As for the take over, I wouldn't believe any of Dr Al's announcements until I saw the paper work. I wouldn't be surprised if he were playing a desparate last throw of the PR dice. I assume there is nothing on their official site? If I were a skate (god forbid) I think I'd rather have Storie.
