Pompey Takeover Saga

Fitzhugh Fella

All this makes sense. I could never understand why Azougi would have been appointed by an Arab. Tell me if I am wrong but it would be business suicide to for a supposed leading Saudi businessman to be working with Israelis. Dubai Phil could tell me if I am wrong here. It also explains why Jacobs is still on the board.

So in essence Gaydamak has been the owner all along (especially as it has never been paid) PCFC has been a vehicle for money laundering .Do we know if Storrie is Jewish?

I realsie that this may offend some and I am not anti-semetic but the connections appear rather strong and more than coincidental.

HRMC must be loving the coverage of this case. It must be well worth a bit of forrensic accounting and overtime to pour through the statement of affairs.

This is the best advert for paying your PAYE and NI for bussinesses there has been since Lecter Piggot was sent to prison for tax evasion.

Winding up Pompey could net the HRMC billions in quickly submitted taxes.

Not much sign of Fitzhugh Fella lately, is he busy writing a best seller ?

Christ.

Thank you to PES for the links. Good to have some sensible input from the blue side - pity more of their number weren't following this thread earlier...they may have learnt a thing or two.

Either we've got suspicious minds, or our fingers more on the pulse, but when you look at the comments section on the Snooze, it is laughable.

Do none of these people talk to anyone else? They all seem to live in a Storriewonderland where everyone wants to buy you when you're the football equivilent of the dry egg boiler.

Not to mention their habit of seeing any comment from a Saints fan as inappropriate. 'Comment deemed unsuitable by user' - yeah right.

Haha..then there's the obsession with last week's result.

4-1 this, 4-1 that.

Here we go then...he's a red and white version.

Southampton 1 (real owner with integrity) Portsmouth 4 (fake potless owners in one season)

Fin.

I suppose it's inevitable, after telling them to stop winding me up I point out I'm not gonna be the only one wound up this week ;)

One of the things that keeps surprising me when I take a peek on PFC message boards is how so many of their fans seem to think that administration is the easy way out and will instantly solve all their problems.

I think they must see it as some kind of magic reset button which we all know it isn't. I can only guess they are partly influencede in their thinking by what happened to us. Go in to admin, wait for the rich guy to come save them. I really don't think that it will be like that for them.

They have no facilities, they don't own their ground, due to debt to HMRC there is no way that they will get a CVA which means there will be more point deductions. Also, with Story, Harry and Milan in court for tax evasion there is also a chance that more points will be deducted as happed to Luton (I think).

The numbers just don't add up. You would have to be stupid to buy them. If you wanted to own a football club there would be many better options.

Was just having a look at the poopy 606 and this bit made me laugh!!

"I think there is more arm twisting to come behind the scenes. Eg

1.Government and the local MP - election coming up.

2. PL dont want their product tarnished.

Scudamore could be sued by Pompey if we are wound up

3. There are loads of clubs like us - we are the tip of the ice berg.

4. FA are in a dodgy posn re: FA cup ties. Saints back in, B'ham a bye

5. Arsenal and West Ham particularly but all other clubs would have made their views known - imagine WHU going down because the points they had won were scrubbed"

Ha Ha Ha

That is £60k on average for a month.

£15k p/w

I suspect that the £1.8M will be the total wage bill for ALL staff including, office, groundstaff, stewards, caterers, PS and directors, Avram (IF they're actually paying him). Those we've signed in the last year will almost certainly be on less than 10k a week.

In a way, the fact that we've had to sell virtually the whole first team already should take the 'shock' factor out of the equation if indeed we do go down. If most of the decent players have already departed it might mean there will be less chance of going straight through the CCC into L1, even though there will still be some loanee's to go back.

Having said that we could be in the Hampshire league if it all goes tits up :(

Therein lies your problem for next season. Half your team are made up of loanee's, the other half will not play in the CCC. Get relegated without any huge cash injection and I reckon you will keep on falling. Youth experiment anyone? And that is why no one will buy you. Too big a risk when there are much more 'stable' clubs out there (Palarce?)

I think that you'll find that £1.8m was your players wage bill, the total wage bill was closer to £3m per month. But of course it will have reduced after the massive sales that you made during January - remind me again of who left because I can't remember as there were so may: Williamson, Begovic and ....

Here in Eastleigh we dont wish that. We dont want TCWTB soiling our stand seats.

I find it unlikely that your first team would have comprised the following;

Asmir Begovic

Matt Ritchie

David Nugent

Gautier Mahoto

Mike Williamson

Paris Cowan-Hall

Marlon Pack

Linvoy Primus

Who, other than Kaboul, are the players listed on Sky Sports as having left PFC since the start of December, when you are supposed to be desperate for cash.

( And at the same time bringing IN Tosic, O'Hara, Rocha, and Owusu-Abeyie )

in 2007/08 the lowest PL wage bill was derby at over 26m. That is two years ago, and all but 2 clubs were over 30 m. I think its safe to assume that poopeys bill including paye and nNI is at least 2 .5 m, and probably higher.

My guess is that the £1.8m was a net figure excluding PAYE.

Probably nearer the mark, anyway you dont have to pay PAYE, or any taxes, do you?

Oh! You are supposed to!

This latest attempt from pompey to bend the rules is ridiculous and I can't see it happening.

*

The fact is, they ARE allowed to sell players at any time. Or at least, they are allowed to receive transfer fees. The rule only prevents the buying club from registering the player for competing this season.

*

Of course, the amount that a player will command now is likely to be less than it was 3 weeks ago (if they can find a buyer), because the buying club won't pay through the nose for an asset they can't use for 6 months, but this is nobody's fault but Portsmouth's, and if they were desperate for the money they should have sold during the transfer window like everybody else.

*

Lifting this rule for one selling club would mean lifting it for everyone. You could not have a situation where one buying club can bring in a Portsmouth player and therefore strengthen, but one of its direct competitors can't (because they don't wish to buy a Portsmouth player). This would undermine competition integrity. So you would need to lift the rule for all clubs across all jurisdictions. Basically, Portsmouth want the transfer window revoked because they are in financial trouble. And it's a FIFA rule anyway, not EPL. Given FIFA's attitude towards English football finance, I very much doubt this will happen.

*

This just smacks of desperation, and rather serves to undermine their claims of solvency. Interesting timing, given that the statement of affairs was submitted yesterday!
