hutch Posted 29 September, 2015 Posted 29 September, 2015 Oh for gawds sake they're not still harping on about the free stadium. Everybody knows it was paid for in full with gold bars made from melted teeth of holocaust victims.
Waterside.saint Posted 29 September, 2015 Posted 29 September, 2015 Ah - a nostalgic trip back to page 698 -I enjoyed that! I guess time had dulled the memory as to how thick PFC123 was, how Ho still proclaimed that there was greatness ahead for them, that charities and businesses would get paid..and f**k me there's a post from Mack (Hi Mack!) that is grammatically ok, spelled correctly...I suspect a ringer...and not of the evil-smelling, tw*t-hatted variety! Five years on, karma tastes as sweet and smells as wonderful as their festering fat-ridden smells putrid. Long may the comedy continue!! :-) I get Mack's mis-spelt parody, it's like the patched coat and clown shoes of a superannuated children's entertainer
Mr Biscuits Posted 29 September, 2015 Posted 29 September, 2015 I get Mack's mis-spelt parody, it's like the patched coat and clown shoes of a superannuated children's entertainer More like Mr Jelly http://www.jellyparties.co.uk
Pamplemousse Posted 29 September, 2015 Posted 29 September, 2015 Exeter 1-0 up in their cup final No doubt it was the ref's fault for their goal, overawed by the occasion etc. etc.
Jonnyboy Posted 29 September, 2015 Posted 29 September, 2015 Annoyingly not one team in the top half are leading at half time.
teamsaint Posted 29 September, 2015 Posted 29 September, 2015 2-0 the Danny Butterfield magic is working.
stevegrant Posted 29 September, 2015 Posted 29 September, 2015 2-0, Saints academy graduate Aaron Davies with the goal
SW5 SAINT Posted 29 September, 2015 Posted 29 September, 2015 The sight of Exeter in their red and white shirts is normally enough upset them on it's own. It was even better when Fly be was printed on them!
Pamplemousse Posted 29 September, 2015 Posted 29 September, 2015 At least they've got Championship-standard floodlighting now...
andysstuff Posted 29 September, 2015 Posted 29 September, 2015 Too little too late indeed. First Exeter win at Fortress Fatpipes since 1923 apparently.
dronskisaint Posted 29 September, 2015 Posted 29 September, 2015 [emoji38] Pretty average crowd all fancy dressed up as blue seats ... bound to look better that way:D
Lets B Avenue Posted 29 September, 2015 Posted 29 September, 2015 It certainly looks worse when TCWTB and his retards are let in.
rallyboy Posted 29 September, 2015 Posted 29 September, 2015 That pic of Moran made me chuckle! Well I was an angry young man on page 698. Funny how five years on, some of the few still don't understand what happened. We must be due another attendance debate pretty soon, though I see their full houses aren't looking that full. Top of the table, fan-owned, biggest club south of London but still not packing the park?....time to build a bigger stadium!
Chez Posted 29 September, 2015 Posted 29 September, 2015 (edited) At least they've got Championship-standard floodlighting now... Er, they must have had a slight problem there...too bright? Edited 29 September, 2015 by Chez
FloridaMarlin Posted 29 September, 2015 Posted 29 September, 2015 Champagne Ian on South Today earlier tonight reiterating that promotion is the minimum expected this season. So no pressure there.
TwoPints Posted 29 September, 2015 Posted 29 September, 2015 3rd now or as some might say, joint 4th ?
TopGun Posted 30 September, 2015 Posted 30 September, 2015 Champagne Ian on South Today earlier tonight reiterating that promotion is the minimum expected this season. So no pressure there. Champagne Ian has turned into a bit of a sideshow curiosity now. He clearly had no clue before and is now just tagging along having fallen on Cook after the previous disasters.
Mr Biscuits Posted 30 September, 2015 Posted 30 September, 2015 I reckon he's been told to keep his gob shut
Golden Balls Posted 30 September, 2015 Posted 30 September, 2015 Didn't even know they played last night. Just been told they lost. Apparently they battered them all game though. I'm not arguing if they did or didn't, just found it funny the skate had to mention it. Anyway, onto Yeovil Town. I might try and catch the result after we've played the champions.
dronskisaint Posted 30 September, 2015 Posted 30 September, 2015 Champagne Ian on South Today earlier tonight reiterating that promotion is the minimum expected this season. So no pressure there. The minimum eh...well they're out of the Johnstones Paint trophy, out of the League Cup so I'm guessing that leaves FA Cup there for the maximum.....
Mr Biscuits Posted 30 September, 2015 Posted 30 September, 2015 Clearly they are concentrating on the league after all, the bestest have won everything ever
Wes Tender Posted 30 September, 2015 Posted 30 September, 2015 [emoji38] Age-related eyesight deterioration? Time to get them tested, mate.
Wes Tender Posted 30 September, 2015 Posted 30 September, 2015 The minimum eh...well they're out of the Johnstones Paint trophy, out of the League Cup so I'm guessing that leaves FA Cup there for the maximum..... Actually, there is a let out there, as they could go up via the play-offs as a minimum, or as champions as the maximum.
Weston Super Saint Posted 30 September, 2015 Posted 30 September, 2015 Anyone got any shiny pictures of their championship standard floodlights?
Ohio Saint Posted 30 September, 2015 Posted 30 September, 2015 Meh, they are doing quite well at the moment. Give credit where it's due (See what I did there? Due credit?) Frankly, I prefer to kick them when they are down, or at least more down than they are right now.
Mr Biscuits Posted 30 September, 2015 Posted 30 September, 2015 They'll sit in league one obscurity for a while when they realise there isn't any more money coming their way. The stadium will eventually be closed on health and safety grounds and they will have to ground share with Havant &waterlooville. Meanwhile their fan base will be eroded by bigger and better teams either way up the coast. Lower table obscurity will do just fine. (Although dropping out of the league completely would have been utterly hilarious)
Chez Posted 30 September, 2015 Posted 30 September, 2015 Anyone got any shiny pictures of their championship standard floodlights?
buctootim Posted 30 September, 2015 Posted 30 September, 2015 Fitting adaption St Neil! Considering they're supposed to be floodlights, it looks a little, um dark, on the pitch
Waterside.saint Posted 1 October, 2015 Posted 1 October, 2015 'The world of CARP' A pompey pun, shurely - loyal fishfolk can amuse themselves endlessly by swapping the middle two letters
Mr Biscuits Posted 1 October, 2015 Posted 1 October, 2015 I wonder how many of them began to hiss and melt into a puddle when those lights got switched on?
Weston Super Saint Posted 1 October, 2015 Posted 1 October, 2015 I have to say, it was worth the wait. I, for one, am very impressed. Those lights look very 'special'.
dronskisaint Posted 1 October, 2015 Posted 1 October, 2015 Actually, there is a let out there, as they could go up via the play-offs as a minimum, or as champions as the maximum. True but the end result is the same...hoping it will be joyously academic anyway!
Hatch Posted 1 October, 2015 Posted 1 October, 2015 for Comparison with other 'Championship Grade' floodlight, these are Bristol Citys, currently bottom of the Championship and just been promoted.
Danbert Posted 1 October, 2015 Posted 1 October, 2015 "Admired around the world," allegedly: http://www.pompeytrust.com/news/trust-announce-increase-in-shareholding
rallyboy Posted 1 October, 2015 Posted 1 October, 2015 48.48%? That can't be right, they keep telling us they own the club, not less than half of it. I'm no mathematician but shouldn't the number be something like 100% to claim ownership?
The9 Posted 1 October, 2015 Posted 1 October, 2015 "Admired around the world," allegedly: http://www.pompeytrust.com/news/trust-announce-increase-in-shareholding Meanwhile, the Newport County Supporters Trust have today announced they've achieved their fundraising target and will take over the club subject to the formality of FL approval, holding more than 50% of shares in the club having bought out the top two shareholders. Way better than a poxy 48.48% and an agreed plan to pay off creditors without needing to go into adminstration, never mind 3 relegations. Amazing what can be achieved with a little foresight. Newport County also now has £236k more than they did have for this season's running costs.

farawaysaint Posted 1 October, 2015 Posted 1 October, 2015 It was fun while it lasted but I'm afraid the buggers are going up this year. Doubt they'll make Championship for a good 6-7 years though.

Danbert Posted 1 October, 2015 Posted 1 October, 2015 Given this huge and not at all pathetic global fan base, surely they'll soon be back where such a massive club belongs? http://mobile.portsmouthfc.co.uk/news/article/mark-catlin-visits-pompey-stateside-supporters-club-in-las-vegas-2720473.aspx
