As rb has already pointed out, they're collecting a bit over £200 average per ST, and spending most of that before a ball is kicked in earnest in the league season.

Their biggest problem is Fratton Park, a huge money pit in it's current state for a 4th division club to keep licensed. At the moment they're keeping their certificate by a combination of

* Conscript labour free of charge from the Job Centre

* Fans with hammers and paintbrushes

* More investment from their directors, in exchange for shares

If there's any money from Tesco it will disappear down this hole too.

To stabilise their finances, even with their crowds, they either need to get promoted or get rid of FP.

I don't see either happening any time soon, so another financial crisis looms.

tarmac like in the plans maybe, considering its a condition of them being allowed to build the store.

That was an artist's impression and a lot of negotiating has gone into this deal since then.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think that is pretty much finished for now as per the final agreement.

Had a look at the car park today. Abysmal workmanship. Can't understand why they've used a close graded 20mm binder course instead of 10mm surface course for the asphalt surface. The tie ins are rough as f*ck and no way have they been saw cut. There are trip hazards along the entire length which could leave the club open to some hefty compensation claims should anyone trip over on them. Finally the gravel was badly rutting and looks like it's been laid too thick, probably as it's cheaper than sorting out the sub grade. If this was one of my sites I would have condemned it and forced the contractor to undertake extensive remedial works. (2/10 must try harder.)

Seen the quotes on the snooze about how they're "still the best fans in the country"....They'll never get it that lines like that make them seem like a classless bunch of numpties...Even when they no longer have a club to support they'll be banging that drum :s

'hey I've got some Tarmac left over from building a motorway, I ll do your car park cheap'

And equally funny that super Awford has let go the two right backs he got on loan... Fish and Wynter.

Excellent decision making going on as ever at Nottarf Krap.

Apparently this frees up places for more signings in their admitted oversized squad.

The article by Comical Neil fails to address the issue of how they intend to offload contracted players in January though...

Credit where credit's due. 2 points from the last 15 is not to be sneezed at. They've clearly turned a corner under the firm grip of Awford.

Credit is what it is about. Hang on long enough and it will all go away!

They are still comparing themselves with Bournemouth ! They are in denial....why don't they look at the league tables and also have they not worked out that Bournemouth are well run solvent club on the way up.

They should be comparing themselves with the Shots as they are more likely to be their new rivals, unless the Shots get promoted of course.

Not sure about that part, tbf. They've spent way beyond their means in recent years but their Russian owner has been happy to write that money off, converting it to equity rather than debt.

Why don't you apply the same to your endless stream of negative posts about Saints on the main forum? We are 4th after 19 games and you are still on about survival.

Adam Blackmore said on Solent a while ago that Bournemouth owed the 25% cut from the Lallana deal to the fact that they passed their FFP test this year...

From the fanfunder's report of the Wimbeldon game on the Portsmouth FC official site:

"When the final whistle was blown, the stadium was filled with a chorus of deafening boos, from the Pompey fans, followed by the chant of ‘that was embarrassing’."

It's been a while since I last had time to contribute anything of note in our much loved nutjobs corner, but after reading through Jordan Cross's hilarious boxing day match report, I was inspired to fire up the long neglected editing software, and get to work. Fortunately I had some rare free time over the Chstmas period to start mocking something up, but have been back to work the last couple of days, and only just had time to finish it off tonight.

It's not up to previous standards, but that can be blamed on shortness of time, and not having my old favourite go-to editor on my new system, so please excuse the 'unpolished' nature of the finished article. I'd have liked to have taken the time to go much more intricate with it, as there were so many golden oportunities with the screencap of JC's article, but I was very conscious already that the clock is ticking, another game has already passed since, and that if I didn't complete soon, publication might not have made it out before Pompey's accounts.

They still haven't published them yet? What was I thinking!? :mcinnes:

So anyway, have yourself a merry little chuckle at the ever wonderful Jordan Cross first...

I tried my best to keep to as short pompey-paragraphs as possible, but in the end, I just couldn't fit in everything I wanted, so had to resort to at least semi-literate 'journalism' in the end.

Happy New Year my fellow nutjobs, and for our fishy friends down the road, let us hope that it is a most miserable and unprosperous one. :toppa:

I was just about to write a complaint about that, but you've admitted it!:) I like the "Discover the Most..." and Jobs Today section too. :)

He's stirring it up nicely on his Twitter account. Complaining that the motion for a new chairman was not on the Trust AGM agenda and demanding to know who proposed and seconded the motion.

It's not a completely unreasonable point, tbf. They had an AGM barely a month ago, and now all of a sudden the chairman's been replaced without a proper election.

Looks like the board chairman is elected in at the first board meeting after the AGM every year. All within their constitution according to @Pompeytrust. If so all looks above board and he's just ****e stirring.

I wonder if they're following their own Standing Orders? Most companies have strictly laid down rules about calling AGMs, Emergency GMs, deadlines for submitting emergency resolutions, quora etc. etc.

But I bet they don't have Standing Orders - after all, they don't do anything else by the book
