rallyboy Posted 9 November, 2014 Share Posted 9 November, 2014 Nice one. But in 12 years time plucky youngsters will be able to ask their great great grandparents about that amazing win at SMS that denied us promotion and kept them in the 2nd tier. If they have gained anything today it is confirmation of their new local rivals - until Eastleigh go up. That glorious European victory/draw against Milan seems a long time ago. Pamplemousse Posted 9 November, 2014 Share Posted 9 November, 2014 They're not happy over at POL Had forgotten how bad North stand toilets were; made Fratton End's feel palatial. Catering was awful. No sugar? No spoons? No hot food at half time? Only thing left fruit-*******-pastilles? Maybe we had some leftovers a couple of games, and someone decided to cut wastage. Great, but then when there isn't enough supply, I just won't eat at the ground and you get zero income. Seriously, the margin on a pie must be high enough to justify having a bit of wastage as long as you sell some? With the money from both games, have we got enough to pay off Connolly now? Well, did anyone tell the players that those red things on their chests were poppies and not noses. It seemed more like a comic relief sketch. All I can say is it's lucky we didn't get relegated to the Conference last season We mightn't have got back to L2 for years Interesting to read the Aldershot forum: lambasting us for a poor turnout and poor atmosphere and saying they had fans in the home sections. Apart from that, a few were questioning Andy Awful's tactics and a load more were demanding that the board sign a load of new players. Nothing new there. Saint Lindford Posted 9 November, 2014 Share Posted 9 November, 2014 Either the BBC highlights commentator did not have his glasses on or he had been given the list of Portsmyths. Golden Balls Posted 9 November, 2014 Share Posted 9 November, 2014 Apparently it was a good turn out considering it's Remembrance Sunday. Ya know, cos Portsmouth being the only place that remembers. Apparently the atmosphere wasn't the usual intimidating cauldron due to the somber mood of Remembrance Sunday. Apparently the booing at the end was the JCLs and not true fans. Apparently they NEVER boo their own. (Except Connelly and anybody else that expects to be paid what was agreed). This is from a quick glance at twitter. They do make me giggle. Waterside.saint Posted 9 November, 2014 Share Posted 9 November, 2014 Agree, they can lose to Aldershot and gain little or no revenue from the cups. We can draw Eastleigh instead. A long, valuable cup run would certainly do the pluckiest minnows a power of good. It would be so tragic if this were to be cruelly cut short

hutch Posted 13 November, 2014 Share Posted 13 November, 2014 Work to start this month Work is due to commence later this month on developing a new club car park behind the north stand in Anson Road – and fans are being warned to expect disruption. The scheme is part of the deal which saw planning permission granted for a new Tesco superstore on land currently used by the club for its main car park. As a part of the deal, Pompey will get a new car park built off Anson Road, as well as an undisclosed seven-figure sum towards future stadium improvements. Contractors will start work on the first phase of the development – creating the new club car park – on November 24. Fans will still be able to access Fratton Park via Anson Road on foot, although this route will be reduced and there will also be restrictions on car parking until the work is complete. The club currently use land behind the Fratton End as a main car park and off Anson Road for additional matchday car parking. How this will affect fans over the next few weeks: - December 13 v Accrington: Main car park open only - December 26 v Wimbledon and January 3 v Tranmere: Anson Road and main car park open - January 17 v Burton: Anson Road car park open only Pompey chief executive Mark Catlin said: “We apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused to fans by the works, but in the long run the deal is of great benefit to the club. “We will keep fans informed via the official website and local media as the work progresses.” Read more at http://www.portsmouthfc.co.uk/news/article/new-car-park-information-2080643.aspx#HITgCdeyIzvaJbok.
