Finally they have 2 whole football pitches to train on, some changing rooms that have had a lick of paint and a few dumbbells to share.

:blush:its a f***ing turnip patch to the side of Roko, got more curve than a banana, and at this moment in time is a field of mud n pikey wheel tracks,

a 40 year lease is costing 1 mill, But!!!!!! its all ours, :mcinnes: until we welch on a payment)

See I knew persons from pompey don't read proper :mcinnes:

"will be the Blues’ new permanent training base after a 30-year lease was signed on the site.

The 40 year bit was this

"This (a permanent training base) is something that Pompey have been crying out for from when I first came to the club nearly 40 years ago."

So it's temporary then ;)

There is a football facility with changing rooms etc.

pompey have done a deal to use it and put some cash in to change things a bit.

They do seem to be bigging up the fact that they have basically joined a gym.

Meanwhile, they have had to cut costs and dump part of their youth development programme.

While they obviously need a training base, if cash is that tight, continue to develop youth for the future, but let your overpaid journeymen train on the village green.

I'm not sure why cash is that tight, they are ahead of all projections on income and have already pluckily pledged to increase the great promotion warchest.

A cynic might think that the positive talk is all about season ticket renewals.

Some Pompey fans getting all excited about the possibility of signing James Constable from Oxford.

Plenty of platitudes.

Prove goal scorer, experienced, take the team to the next level etc

However all change when the news comes through that he has signed for Eastleigh!!

Poor player. over the top, Pompey can do better etc etc etc

That is clearly begging, dressed up a bit.

I understand why a new club might want investment to start, but one year in, income way ahead of projections, why are they still asking their fans to dig deep and pay for things?

And if things are that bad, how can they increase their playing budget as claimed, prior to season ticket renewals?

They must be the only club that spends the summer sat next to a cashpoint with a scabby dog, a bit of cardboard and a paper cup.

Well Mike Han**** will be available now after his defeat in yesterday's local election. Looks the part already...

Doubt it, he'll soon be too busy in court defending charges that he sexually assaulted a constituent with mental health problems.

I'm surprised that you'd get prosecuted for that in Portsmouth, to be honest. Unless, of course, the person he's alleged to have assaulted isn't close enough family - just a cousin or something.

And so, following on from Herman on the last page, I get a post on the PTS page of my birth year. Go me.:ninja:

Han****? I'm trying to figure out what was censored. My guess is that his name is Mike Handjob.

Well, at least we know what gets through the prudish censor! Mablethorpe is OK but S****horpe isn't; it must be a real pain if you live in the latter town.

So, 9 years ago, Portsmouth were a Premier League team.

Fleetwood were playing in the North West Counties League. (Level 9 of the pyramid, 3 levels below Conference North/South)

Next season, Fleetwood will be playing at a higher level than Portsmouth.

Hold the front page - they sold six t-shirts in a day...

I only came on here because the main board currently has too many people clearly troubled by mental issues making stuff up and generally being knee-jerk and overly-theatrical about what might and might not happen - but that leisurewear bombshell from Fatpipes did cheer me up.

Anyway, back to the sobbing -

if Poch goes I'll never attend a football match ever again, it's all too much...etc

Re: the t-shirt sales - I was in Whiteley yesterday, and went in SportsDirect to see which new kits were about.

Sondico is a Mike Ashley brand and the Skates were trumpeting their Sports Direct links at the start of the season. Anyway, there are loads left on the shelves even at £15 a chuck.

It's good to know that their bog standard, widely available, L2 shirt is still around in similar quantities to the number remaining of Saints' most hated shirt ever (which unlike the Skate kit is only left in XL and upwards and can only be bought in Saints stores in Southampton).

We really could do with a new ground design sometime soon.

I miss those Maradona Harbourdomes that would host World Cup Finals, with their underwater casinos, seabed Mr Clive factory outlets and porpoise-petting zoos.

I'm not sure that the proposed £1billion compulsory purchase of real estate is now justified in League Two.

That was an era!

yeah Mack, slight price difference though.

Looks like we are going to get more in cash for a 32-year-old supersub than the whole of plucky pompey cost the property developers.

Times have changed.

You'll be able to sing, scummahs going down with £200M in the bank....

Far to many people on the main board getting un necessary. Llalana and shaw will go but there is big money there. Biggest indicator will be the calibre of manager they employ which might give an indication of the chairwomans intention

Its just nice that for once in the close season we are not the ones being pasted. I am enjoying the peace and quiet and laughing at brighton who are deluded beyond belief

We could buy them to be our B-league team as a warning to our bright young lads to stay focussed and not drift down the leagues. (There, it may not be interesting, but at least I got my 1960 comment in, before I get overtaken by a younger poster!)

Things must be very bleak in fish city if all you have to cling to is this!

Stadium, top academy, top training facilities, prem league football, a sh*t load of talent and plenty of cash rolling in. Shaaa la la la la............
