BigShadow Posted 28 January, 2010 Share Posted 28 January, 2010 I still hope they lose some more players before we play them. Currently their team could look something like this: Jamie Ashdown Steve Finnan - Aaron Mokoena - Tal Ben-Haim - Hermann Hreidarsson Tommy Smith - Kevin Boateng - Michael Brown - Richard Hughes Piquionne - Utaka Subs: Antti Niemi, Angelos Basinas, Danny Webber, Hayden Mullins, Mark Wilson, Nadir Belhadj, N****wo Kanu, Vanden Borre, Yebda Injured: Pape Bouba Diop Still a decent side and capable of beating us. Hopefully they will lose a few more and have some injuries too! It would be a nightmare if they put Niemi in goal against us - I would hate to see that. It is unbelievable that not one of the secured creditors has put them into admin yet. What can they possibly hope to gain from not doing so? :smt102 I want to play them even more now. Chez Posted 28 January, 2010 Share Posted 28 January, 2010 Tells stories said that they always knew there was interest in Kaboul, but admitted that until now it had been paper talk only - ie no offers from Man City or Sunderland. Apart from Begovic today no other club had shown any interest in any of their other players. With no interest elsewhere they have no choice but to sell Begavic. With installments due on Kaboul dn the sell on, you can guarentee that money handed over will be relatively small. It also sounded as though that the Kaboul money will pay wages. What it won't do is cover the HMRC if the court finds on the side of the taxman rather than pompey and insist on the full £7.5m being paid. If they lose the case they won't have the money to pay it off in full so will be reliant on the taxman accepting a phased set pf payments.

*Halo* Posted 28 January, 2010 Share Posted 28 January, 2010 The website is back up for the going out of business sale. Click here for a bargain. Notice on that front page, bottom left corner, they use(d) VeriSign as their Certificate Authority (to verify the site as one "Trusted" for accepting payments). Well, shouldn't they have removed such a misleading 'reassurance' in light of this?: They can't even afford to pay for a genuine Certificate any longer, and are now self certificating. But aside from that, the irony (of the parallels [of the error message] with the Club itself) is hilarious! "Certified by an Unknown Authority"... "Unable to verify the identity of http://www.store.portsmouthfc.co.uk as a trusted site"... "you are possibly connected to a site pretending to be portsmouthfc.co.uk, possibly to obtain your confidential information"... (or to defraud you of your hard earned cash and relieve you of your assets")
