Pompey Takeover Saga

Just reading on that pompey chimes website that some bloke reckons its all a terrorist plot you couldnt make it up.

"I am ready for the many rebuttals I may receive, but we are all intitled to an opinion, so here goes:

Terrorism doesn't just have to be about fighting a war. The financial uncertainty after 9/11 was felt around the globe as the US scurried for cover. maybe they are hitting Britain a different way, but harming a public way of life is still terrorism even if no bullets are fired (difficult to prove too)

When you consider the complete mismanagement of the club since the recent takeovers (escalated from Sacha'a fated reign) could there be more to this than meets the eye:

Consider the current war on terror and you'll find an enemy that might be manoevering a master plan to un-hinge the stability of our 'leisure and pasttime' as a way of life.

While we are wining militarily due to batter equipped and trained forces, we are currently losing the media war on terror as the enemy just has to threaten the Allies and the people get scared to fly etc.... (mainly this side of the pond) and the economics goes haywire.

If a premiership team was to go out of business, how would it affect the rest of the football world, especially in the UK? If Pompey don't try and pay bills, it will be a very public disaster (already is) but nothing too harmful as we are an unassuming club that no one would notice until too late. With so many Prem and almost all lower league teams in debt, economists have been saying for a while that the 'house of cards' will fall after the first 'big' club goes out of business. Not administration, but completely gone.

Pompey don't even look as if they're trying to pay bills, just putting out fires till the time is right and all attention is on them. Is it a coincidence that we've found two people from Dubai and Saudi Arabia who don't have any money between them, yet have walked in financial circles ...... and what religeon are they again (I understand and accept that 95% of Muslims are just like us and don't consider themselves at war with Christianity)?

If not financially, they will beat us by numbers within 3 generations at the current birth rate (UK is 1.78 and Muslims around 6.7 - rate of birth needed to amintain population 2.11) Just do the maths and see how scary that ratio is."

Lol.

Freud would probably be very overworked :D

Nope - the deal is agreed with Lens who get the money. It just means Pompey won't have to pay the remaining transfer fee - which they weren't paying anyway. This is why Lens dropped the threat of action against Pompey and part of the reason they got their transfer ban overturned.

So the skates rearranged the payments with Lens so that the embargo is lifted, then a day later the player is sold on......maybe i'm putting 2 and 2 together and getting 6 but that just seems really coincidental.

Lens happy with deal and Skates by chance now have no embargo.

This stinks to high heaven also, imo.

We are up **** creak without a paddle.

Can not blame Grant if he wants to leave, not at all. Just wish we can go into Admin now, so we can get all these fools out of our club.

Bet you lot are loving this and i cannot blame you, but hopefully see you on the 13th Feb and let the rest of the world south coast derby is not dead.

Over and out

You've got to admit car crashes are fascinating, especially when they involve your neighbour. I think most on here would like you to survive after losing all your best players and getting relegated - saved by a stable but not too rich buyer so we can play you for a season or two.

Quality quote from a Skate:

"the scum game scares me to death now if i'm honest"

Too ****ing right it does, fishy.

And another skate quote :

... aye, to be honest, I hope we go pop before we go into admin, go down, or lose to the scummers ...

... at least that way the truth will come out and serve as a warning to others, hopefully forcing some awkward questions for the premier league mandarins to answer, and hopefully force a shake-up in favour of all clubs, not the top four!

Mr Fry, cancel all holiday and fire up the Bentley!

There's a gargling fat lass riding south with the other three horseman of the apocaplypse and they are Fratton bound.

On second thoughts, forget cancelling the holiday, you will need about an hour to establish that there's nothing left to sell.

Wow, what a couple of hours

Pancake - Post of the year mate

The paranoid Skate - makes some of our anti-Lowe conspiracy freaks seem like Sesame Street characters

The Guardian article, possible the best p1ss take I've seen - surely the journo that wrote that MUST be a Saints fan

This is a really bad day, I actually feel some sympathy for PES & Merovigan at least they saw the writing on the wall, strange that we all saw this coming months ago.

I feel sorry for my mate Sparky & the rest of the lads at Deacons, but apart from that, this has truly been a comedy classic.

Perhaps when the dust settles, the real hurt that will last up the road is having become a laughing stock (new OXO cube). Palace, Chester, sad. Saints - served Lowe right but this one, just simply classic....

Still

I suppose it took TWO Arabs to truly show how to stick your head in the sand.....

indeed...saints fans want this more so than they have for years....I think the atmosphere is going to be electric..

on paper, we should lose...but in reality, we have nothing to lose and no fear (unlike last time)

I just hope they survive long enough so we can dish out the final humiliation.

My word, it is going to go off BIG TIME!

Telegraph

The Telegraph

The Portsmouth Supporters Trust responded almost immediately to the website problems, to help supporters clamouring for FA Cup tickets for the fifth round tie at neighbours Southampton, by offering to run any club ticket information on their new website www.pompeytrust.com.

Spokesman Ken Malley believes it is a sign the dire financial situation at Fratton Park has deteriorated further.

"It's hard to explain how you feel as a Portsmouth supporter when it becomes apparent the website is down simply because they haven't paid the bills," said Malley. "It's an ongoing tragedy and you dread to think where it will end. It's particularly worrying that something like the website fell by the wayside.

"On the scale of things one would have thought the rental on a website would cost peanuts when compared to other things that money has to be spent on. I'm really surprised Portsmouth's financial problems are affecting items of this nature."
