Actually, that's out of date now. John Portsmouth Football Club Westwood has changed his name legally from 5 words back to 2. Sorry guys, the fun is over.

Now the 'club' barely plays 'football' he has ditched The C unt With The Bell, and now prefers to be simply, The C unt.

everytime one of us watch the Pompey youtube clip they get a donation, i would delete it straight away.

The more money they get the more likely they are to do something silly with it, ergo the more likely they are to continue to provide us with chortle fodder...

Johnny visited his Gran one Saturday. Afterwards she walked back to the bus stop with him. As the bus drew up, she slipped a fiver into his hand. 'Now remember John, a fool and their money are soon parted', she reminded him. 'OK Gran,' he replied, as stepped on to the bus: 'but thanks anyway'.

L2, for a second season, with no money, even longer forgotten, dwindling crowds and getting used to losing at obscure places? That's when it becomes more painful. When you have to find the energy to even care anymore. Apathy doesn't sell many tickets.

Not sure I agree with that - I went regularly in the 90's when we were **** and had Scott "legend" Hiley ;) etc playing for us and we were getting dicked most weeks. At least the pkayers although limited gave it 100% and thats all we asked for. It was a laugh because there was no expectation and it was a chance to hook up with your mates an just have a laugh, if we won the lager and hangover was much sweeter if not ahh well it was still a good crack. Alot of us still feel like that now we are just back to being a club with normal aspirations for a club of our size.

Fair play, but that was you. I bet the crowds were much lower than they are at the moment, and they will be again.

You might enjoy it but it's all you will have. It's back to "fifty years of dross", to quote Harry Redknapp.

If you're happy to accept that and that you will have spent the best part of 100 years as the laughing stock of Hampshire then fair dos.

If an employee earns money in month 1, I have to pay HMRC by day 18 (I think) of month 2, whether i physically pay the money to the employee or not. That liability to HMRC is what the previous court cases were about and why HMRC were banging on the door to get their money. As a result, all the PAYE and NI due on the wages was part of (one of) the CVA(s).

Indeed, but the situation now is that a number of players are receiving money as a result of their previous employment. Surely there must be a tax liability on these payments? If not, I can see an opportunity for avoiding tax in all sorts of situations where a company is not currently viable but is expecting to receive payments at some point in the future.

But surely, if the wages had not been paid the PAYE and NI were not yet due. I am not sure that the taxes due on future contracted earnings would have been included into the CVA. Therefore, as these 'payments' are for owed wages from their contracts they 'should' also have to pay PAYE and NI on them. It would be an awful shame if HMRC also thought this way (if the club are not paying it anyway) and were to subsequently issue another winding up order for unpaid tax. Anybody know anyone at HMRC we could ask about this situation?

Fair enough Mero, and this is how it should be. But as people on here have noted, a large (or visible) part of your fanbase seem to have a need for being biggest/bestest/first at everything, and that doesn't exactly exude the kind of laid-back attitude you have. There is no letting go of the sense of entitlement and embracing the cold facts as they stand today.

What you have to remember is that Tax and NI on wages are due when the money is earned, not necessarily when it is physically paid. So for wages that were earned, because the player was under contract at the time, but just not paid because they didn't have the cash, then that Tax and NI was due the month after it was earned.

If the money being paid out is some kind of negotiated settlement after the termination of the contract then that would be different, and it may even be that the tax liability falls to the individual player as they are no longer under PAYE (like a contractor or someone self-employed) but then it goes beyond my realm of experience so I couldn't say for sure.

Of all the crimes committed by the skates, the outrageous tax evasion tops it all for me. How they managed to be such a high profile company yet blow off tens of tens of tens of millions of tax is unbelievable. This is the basic stuff too, VAT, NI, PAYE FFS, even our finest tax avoiders such as Starbucks manage to pay that lot.

But didnt neil allen tell us the table was from the victory?

This is an intresting one- I assume this is the builder that was ripped off by previous administrtions, but that's not the point.......

If the club claim them, is that an acknowlegdement of association? Or do will they distance themselves from the previous regiemes and not stake a claim......answers on a postcard.

Yes this is Terry the builder who was owed £70,000 by the club.

copy and paste:

I have a login and quite early on posted a copy of the 'MOTD-attendance is everything' dig at the scummers that I'd written and posted on here. It was the sort of daft stuff I used to write for Frattonise, and it got a nice reception on here. The people that replied to it on POL absolutely hated it, saying it shouldn't be on there because it was about scummers shocked.gif.

A large proportion on there seem to be utterly paranoid about our 'friends' from up the road, to the point where they're not allowed to be mentioned. Part of the problem seems to be the fact that on the infamous PTS thread on scumweb, a large number of their regular posters boast about having logins for POL, and have been posing as Pompey fans for years. The way I was jumped all over in very quick succession, it does make you wonder.

I still login to it occasionally, but every time I do it seems to be the same mix of humourless individuals and closet scummers.

The bottom line for me is that I felt very unwelcome, which is a shame as I've more than done my bit over the years to help the Pompey cause....

what an interesting version of events that is in the BBC press release promoting Antiques Roadshow but dressed up as a news story.

They seem to have glossed over the whole builder who was financially-crippled by money-laundering liars and child-maimers, retains expensive furniture as security to try and get back some of the thousands of pounds he is owed aspect of the story.

But it's always amusing to see another portsmyth sink into The Solent!

Victory, Warrior, The Ark?

They were off some old boat.

"Your boardroom chairs are worth more than your team"

There must be a song in there somewhere surely.

even not working, the clock is worth more than their team,

I notice that they sent another player out on loan, only to then get another player in from Millwall

Sensible move IMO, the young lad Bird is only 25, and exposing him to the seething pressure cooker at Fratton Park too early could irreparably damage his future career.

Either that or he's crap.

Had the pleasure of seeing Danish side Esbjerg away to Standard Liege on the telly last night. Liege's central defence consisted of none other than Jelle Van Damme and Tal Ben Haim  Van Damme looks like a total nutter - bald with a huge beard - and Ben Haim still has those tired eyes...

Esbjerg scored and Liege equalised and went for the winner. In the 94th minute Ben Haim passed the ball out of defence and the midfielder miscontrolled it and lost possession. 10 seconds later Esbjerg bagged the winner with the last touch of the game...
