pedg Posted 20 April, 2013 Share Posted 20 April, 2013 (edited) My suspicion is that the league (including the majority of the league 2 clubs one would assume) probably wanted to impose the penalty next season but because of the statement the league made initially about the penalty applying this season they felt they might have legal problems if they did not do what they initially said. Really all they should have said was "We will treat the penalties for exiting admin without fulfilling the first CVA in exactly the same way as when a club first enters admin" and then it would all have been clear. St Chalet Posted 20 April, 2013 Share Posted 20 April, 2013 There is one big advantage for us with the FL's frankly spineless although not surprising decision. At least we won't have to listen to all the bull**** about them being at a disadvantage all next season.

mcjwills Posted 20 April, 2013 Share Posted 20 April, 2013 Let's look at the real world for the skates 23 games x a generous 12k fans x average £17 per game. This is £4,692,000 gate receipts, and throw in an extra £2.3 million from advertising and TV and match day stuff. With the financial fair play at 55% of receipts that accounts to £3.85M being the maximum allowed to be spent on wages. 52 weeks of the year, this equates to a squad pay of 74k per week. With a squad of 25 players this is about 3k per player, including sign on bonuses and win bonuses. Not that much really.

The Kraken Posted 20 April, 2013 Share Posted 20 April, 2013 Bournemouth are pretty much promoted unless they get thrashed by 7 or 8 goals next week. Brighton right in the mix for the playoffs. Next season the south coast wil have 3 clubs in the top two divisions. Plus them lot in the 4th division, vying with Aldershot for the pride of being the south's 4th biggest club. Is quite amusing seeing all the PST sadjobs, I mean nutjobs, who carried on predicting they were toast. Far from it IMO. Not sure I ever predicted they were toast but wouldn't it depend on how you define toast? If you look at it from an un-biased perspective they will be starting in the 4th division with debt and payments that must be kept to. That means a chunk of their income has already been swallowed up. Add to that league two has strict rules which states you can only have 55% of your turnover on wages, means they can't go into further debt buying players on stupid wages to help them out of the league at the first time of asking. Add to this today there seems to be a fair few people asking what they have actually got with their stake and who makes the decisions. The infighting is just around the corner when they realise League Two isn't going to be as easy as they thought. They are going to be screwed for a long time. Look at Bradford. However I do think that maybe it is now time to close the thread as they are out of admin and have been taken over. Maybe re-open it when things start to go tits up which they will. And that other ****ing idiot who kept saying their -10 was because they were in admin at the start of the season. I watched our game on a stream and then took the dog out listening to Solent's reaction hour on my phone. I really felt like kicking the dog and shouting "it's because they didn't honour the CVA, you ****ing Muppet". In the end I had to turn off when another idiot kept asking MP about our disallowed goal, no matter how many times MP said he didn't see it and hadn't spoke to Adam about it, he kept digging trying to get MP to react. No matter how much they try to big themselves up no-one cares. I live in Central London and with all the various London club supporters, if on the odd occasion I mention skates, they just laugh. To them skates are a lower division side that resided for a while in the prem'. So now the pikey's might start to show their heads again after being too cowardly to do so over the past few months, esp' corp ho, mackill and PFC23. Remember they are 4th division in status, position, footballers and facilities.
