Pompey Takeover Saga

My suspicion is that the league (including the majority of the league 2 clubs one would assume) probably wanted to impose the penalty next season but because of the statement the league made initially about the penalty applying this season they felt they might have legal problems if they did not do what they initially said. Really all they should have said was "We will treat the penalties for exiting admin without fulfilling the first CVA in exactly the same way as when a club first enters admin" and then it would all have been clear.

Solent just saying that our 10 point deduction was for going into administration whereas theirs is for coming out of administration. The 10 points for them going into admin have already been deducted. Oh and btw their chairman says on the subject "Give us a break". Bless!

OldNick and SaintRichmond will be overjoyed as it gives them another three years to foam at the mouth ranting on about the Football League's "beloved Portsmouth" and them getting away with it and other such bilge.

Start frothing, boys.

I suppose because the Boston bomber was wounded he has had his punishment and should now walk free... a bit extreme i know but

Portsmouth football club....meh **** em.

they got off lightly,I agree.....which is wrong....so very wrong, considering their misdemeanours.

Southampton is all that matters, and the only thing I truly care about.

the skates do disgust me,all that they have done, the delusional fans etc..etc....

but I can do nothing...but support Southampton FC.

No. You're right. It is just the same as the Boston bombers. Just the same.

Thanks for not letting me down.

Let's look at the real world for the skates 23 games x a generous 12k fans x average £17 per game. This is £4,692,000 gate receipts, and throw in an extra £2.3 million from advertising and TV and match day stuff. With the financial fair play at 55% of receipts that accounts to £3.85M being the maximum allowed to be spent on wages. 52 weeks of the year, this equates to a squad pay of 74k per week. With a squad of 25 players this is about 3k per player, including sign on bonuses and win bonuses. Not that much really.

Why do you lot care so much about them anyway? Saints are as good as they've ever been and you're still all bitter about that lot down the road. Time to get over it me thinks.

I'd avoid this thread if I were you.

The THIS IS SO UNFAIR nutcases haven't even got going yet.

The fact is Pompey are Royally fu cked for a decade, if not longer.

Read this thread over the next couple of days and you'll believe Michel Platini has stepped in to give them a bye into the Champions League final.

One question - how come we got our 10 point deduction carried across to the next season - costing us a play-off place - and they didn't?

OK two questions - how come its only -10 points when Luton and Leeds got -15 or more?

They always seem to get away with it somehow!

Bournemouth are pretty much promoted unless they get thrashed by 7 or 8 goals next week. Brighton right in the mix for the playoffs. Next season the south coast wil have 3 clubs in the top two divisions. Plus them lot in the 4th division, vying with Aldershot for the pride of being the south's 4th biggest club.

Our punishment was for going into Admin past the season deadline, theirs is for coming OUT of admin. Two completely different incidents.

Is quite amusing seeing all the PST sadjobs, I mean nutjobs, who carried on predicting they were toast. Far from it IMO.

Not sure I ever predicted they were toast but wouldn't it depend on how you define toast?

If you look at it from an un-biased perspective they will be starting in the 4th division with debt and payments that must be kept to. That means a chunk of their income has already been swallowed up. Add to that league two has strict rules which states you can only have 55% of your turnover on wages, means they can't go into further debt buying players on stupid wages to help them out of the league at the first time of asking.

Add to this today there seems to be a fair few people asking what they have actually got with their stake and who makes the decisions. The infighting is just around the corner when they realise League Two isn't going to be as easy as they thought.

They are going to be screwed for a long time. Look at Bradford.

However I do think that maybe it is now time to close the thread as they are out of admin and have been taken over. Maybe re-open it when things start to go tits up which they will.

I suspect anyone who has been shafted by Pompey will not feel as charitable as you

Why don't you write a letter to the family of that eight year old boy who died in Boston to see what they think about Pompey?

Funny, I thought I'd be more aggrieved with the points deduction not being carried over. But now I see them so far adrift at the bottom and everything's settled, it's like the feeling of satisfaction you get when you finally wipe the last bit of dog poo off your shoe.

I suspect they will be grieving a bit for that. Perhaps the charities,St johns ambulance and businesses that have been effected might be better for you to write to and tell them how you feel that justice has been served

I suspect you are a little embarrassed the way your club has acted, but you live on and the minutes to the board meeting will be funny as time goes on. The power struggle will begin,if you thought the'lets go Wilde ' tee shirts were funny as he vied for popularity, you ain't seen nothing yet! Lol

You can be relied upon to be hilarious time and again.

I don't remember saying anything about my thoughts on whether "justice" has been "done".

But you compared Pompey to a bombing that has killed a child and haven't yet retracted that sentiment. I have nothing more to add.

Who is that clown that summarises the Skate game? I thought Merrington should be forced to retire, but that bloke needs locking up for his own safety.

Some of his gems;

Connelly wont play for a bigger club.

Guy needs to be given a decent budget.

The future is bright.

Mark Kelly. He's an utter 'tard.

And that other ****ing idiot who kept saying their -10 was because they were in admin at the start of the season. I watched our game on a stream and then took the dog out listening to Solent's reaction hour on my phone.

I really felt like kicking the dog and shouting "it's because they didn't honour the CVA, you ****ing Muppet".

In the end I had to turn off when another idiot kept asking MP about our disallowed goal, no matter how many times MP said he didn't see it and hadn't spoke to Adam about it, he kept digging trying to get MP to react. What with that and the Pompey love in, I'm never going to listen again. ****ing bunch of Partridges.

Maybe Bournemouth could loan you some young players. Though they might not see much use in them dropping down two divisions.

Pathetic fawning from the media continues.

New plaque at Pompey says it all. A joy to be at the rebirth of a much-loved institution pic.twitter.com/6mMDEgiFTS

No plaque though for the creditors, charities and the taxman ripped off by that pathetic cesspit of a club.

That's utterly nauseating, again.

What utter pr1cks. No humility in what they done, just more "bigging" themselves up.

What we all should remember outside this forum and all the skates web-shiites no-one gives a toss about pompey. No matter how much they try to big themselves up no-one cares. I live in Central London and with all the various London club supporters, if on the odd occasion I mention skates, they just laugh. To them skates are a lower division side that resided for a while in the prem'.

So now the pikey's might start to show their heads again after being too cowardly to do so over the past few months, esp' corp ho, mackill and PFC23. Remember they are 4th division in status, position, footballers and facilities.
