Saint_clark Posted 11 April, 2013 Share Posted 11 April, 2013 Is it me, or does the directors box look like its had a bit of a refurb....? all looks (relatively) posh for a club that's been run on a shoestring for the last 14 months.... Now you mention it, the paint looks brand new.
Colinjb Posted 11 April, 2013 Share Posted 11 April, 2013 I owned a little bit of Ebbsfleet, then got bored. Saw them win at Wembley though! Again look where they are heading. Same here, except I didn't go to Wembley. At least I got to vote on the sale of John Akinde to Bristol City. (That worked out well for him....) Waterside.saint Posted 11 April, 2013 Share Posted 11 April, 2013 So what have they got for all the pennies spent - a division four club , 90% of the players on a 4 week contract , a manager who took them on one of longest runs without a win and of course the have the delightful Fatpipes Park - a crumbling decrepit ground and they seem so excited by all of this - it's like me saying "Hey come and see my Ferrari , its not drive able, needs a new engine , a new respray , the chassis needs replacing , new windows , the seats are missing - but hey its mine and I have the log book to prove it .. Quite right, only I'd have put 'Lada' instead of 'Ferrari'

Show them how it should be done Greg, wave your debt. I'm sure he is 'buzzing'. Liquidation would have meant him losing his compromise agreement. Whereas, there is now almost a 20% chance of him eventually seeing a percentage of the salary the club agreed to pay him when he signed. CB Saint Posted 11 April, 2013 Share Posted 11 April, 2013 I just feel relieved and pleased for the local businesses and economy. The club was bringing £300M a year into the city when they were struggling, so now that the crowds are all back that figure must be closer to £500M - that's £20M for EVERY home game. Fantastic news. And if anyone feels the same as Essruu you can send me the cash and I'll burn it for you. In fact Lord T can give me his money too and I'll go buy a share. Honest I will. 300 m eh? If a league one club can do that then it would be fair to say that th 92 clubs in the league can generate a collective £27 bn per year. So if we state sponsor another 450 clubs, the deficit is gone and we all live happily ever after (under the sea)

St Jim Posted 11 April, 2013 Share Posted 11 April, 2013 Can someone explain how their claim to be the biggest community club in England works. Is it based on 1. It is the community club with the largest turnover in England 2. The percentage that the fans own is the largest of any club owned/part owned by a community of fans 3. It is the community club with the largest average crowd in England 4. It is the largest amount any community of fans has paid for a share of the club 5. It is the largest family ever to part own a club or 6. None of the above, it's just another myth.

Look, they may be just a bunch of thick, deluded, inbreeds from Fantasy Island but this time they may have a point. When you consider literally 100s of skates have put their money into it, not forgetting the dozens of local business' and their hefty contributions and then there's the local charities that have given up £thousands to get them to where they are today. But what makes them stand out against the rest is the colossal number of people who now rightfully hold a stake in p*rtsmyth football club, the biggest contributors, there must be getting on for 60 million taxpayers in this country. That surely should make them the biggest community-owned club in the country/world. #Like# that taxi twitter conversation too

Well, to his credit, Tony Husband DID reply albeit in a very nebulous way: Dear ............. Thanks for the note. I suggest there maybe a little bit of semantics in the various arguments. I am of course aware of Barcelona’s shareholder ownership and indeed many similar German models. Portsmouth is a hybrid version of Trust ownership (the words of a leading Sports lawyer- not me) backed as you say by high-net worth individuals and supporter donations, large and small. I’ll be referring to the UK more often than not in future reports though as you do correctly point out that it could be confusing when we do hear about fans owning Barcelona, and indeed, the Green Bay Packers! Thanks for the note though. The9 Posted 12 April, 2013 Share Posted 12 April, 2013 I thought Micah Hall said he had nothing to fear?? Which proves how confident Hall is in his claims - the possible libel charge phrase sounds like the kind of thing Redknapp would fling around, but let's count the number of times he's actually gone to court about these supposedly libellous claims, knowing that his reputation is likely to get dragged into it as part of the evidence...
