Pompey Takeover Saga

So, Harris to buy stadium and lease back to PDT...? Or PDT calling Harris/Chainrai's bluff by saying they'd now rather move the club to another home....?

I thought the land was worth more _without_ a ramshackle edifice on it?

@pn_neil_allen: Reason for delay remains unclear. Hearing contrasting reasons for it. Not worth speculating on! #Pompey

Investigative journalism at its very best. The reason is bloody obvious, it's ****ing lunchtime and the judge needs to get to Greggs before Penny Moreish empties the shelves.

agreed in principle?

Sounds a bit fragile to me, with the potential to not be agreed, in principle.

No time for any vagueness, it has to be sorted, now - in fact, within 48 minutes!

Without seeing detail we have to assume that the Trust has upped it's offer to Chinny, perhaps committing more money that they don't have.

Will that stop Portsea declaring a fantastic victory and partying like a former PM has just died?

I fear not.

Sensible folk will await the detail.

So, the -10 is applied at 1 minute past 3pm then...?

The Football League board will need to have a meeting about it. They may decide to make it conditional on how Pompey finish the season, if they are relegated anyway then the point deduction applied next season or else it isn't a punishment for diluting a failed CVA.

Isn't there a football league statement from a couple of months ago that was pretty categoric in saying the points deduction would kick in "as soon as Pompey come out of administration" - I don't recall any caveats in the statement (but that doesn't mean there aren't any under the covers of course)

Anyone got the exact wording of the original statement?

Mark Acheson:

Emma has just phoned me quickly from court - talks are between administrators and Portpin - we have no clue yet as to nature of deal provisionally reached, except that the Trust is pleased. Reasonable then to assume from that that the deal is for Portpin to go, leaving Trust to take over. But to emphasise, no confirmation of that yet

Concern over whether Pompey may start League Two next term on minus-10 also exists in Pompey Supporters’ Trust circles.

Ultimately, an eight-man Football League board will decide the outcome once the club comes out of administration.

Therefore, as a condition of membership, any new company established to apply for ownership of Portsmouth Football Club's share in The Football League will be required to:

1. Accept a deduction of 10 points in the 2012/13 season;

Jesus, the overreaction from their fans on that News link is comedy.

It's a court case to determine if, and for how much, the ground can be sold to the PST. Nothing more, nothing less. It hasn't suddenly given you £300m to play with, it hasn't promoted you back to the Premier League, it sure as hell doesn't undo everything else that has gone before. And it certainly doesn't guarantee anything about your future. It could even prove to be a millstone around your neck in the future, especially given the state it is in.

It's a bit like a tramp celebrating that he's been allowed to buy a wheelie bin to live in.
