bridge too far Posted 10 April, 2013 Posted 10 April, 2013 How mean of the Judge! I've got ****loads of ironing to do this afternoon. Skilled multi-tasker that I am, even I can't iron and keep up to speed on here at the same time
suewhistle Posted 10 April, 2013 Posted 10 April, 2013 (edited) So, Harris to buy stadium and lease back to PDT...? Or PDT calling Harris/Chainrai's bluff by saying they'd now rather move the club to another home....? I thought the land was worth more _without_ a ramshackle edifice on it? Edited 10 April, 2013 by suewhistle Request from Ohio
Ohio Saint Posted 10 April, 2013 Posted 10 April, 2013 I thought the land was worth more _without_ a football stadium on it? Define "football stadium" please.
trousers Posted 10 April, 2013 Posted 10 April, 2013 @NabilHassan79: After an hour or so of speculation, the PST say they still expect to be in court at 2pm for BDO v Portpin. Watch this space...
DS Posted 10 April, 2013 Posted 10 April, 2013 The suspense is killing me. Will P*mpey be the second controversial old dinosaur to pop her clogs this week?

trousers Posted 10 April, 2013 Posted 10 April, 2013 @pn_neil_allen: Some #Pompey fans waiting for latest news on the case. Word is talks underway between parties at nearby BDO offices. http://t.co/xyEtWxC8Fe
Chez Posted 10 April, 2013 Posted 10 April, 2013 @pn_neil_allen: Reason for delay remains unclear. Hearing contrasting reasons for it. Not worth speculating on! #Pompey Investigative journalism at its very best. The reason is bloody obvious, it's ****ing lunchtime and the judge needs to get to Greggs before Penny Moreish empties the shelves.

trousers Posted 10 April, 2013 Posted 10 April, 2013 @pn_neil_allen: Everybody now filing into Court 30. Just seen Trevor Birch outside, looking relaxed. Looks like 2pm start. #Pompey
CB Saint Posted 10 April, 2013 Posted 10 April, 2013 My bet - deal done. Neither party can risk a decision.
trousers Posted 10 April, 2013 Posted 10 April, 2013 @pn_neil_allen: Terms agreed but have to be documented. Judge given them until 3pm to get documentation finalised. #Pompey
Matthew Le God Posted 10 April, 2013 Posted 10 April, 2013 This thread is far from over, in fact the fun has only really just started. I predict administration number 4 in the next 2 to 3 years, this time the fans will have only themselves to blame.
Hurricane163 Posted 10 April, 2013 Posted 10 April, 2013 Well if an agreement has been made it surely means that it will cost the PDT more money. Looks like the perfect result
trousers Posted 10 April, 2013 Posted 10 April, 2013 @pn_neil_allen: If documentation not signed by 3pm then judge will start case. #Pompey
stevegrant Posted 10 April, 2013 Posted 10 April, 2013 Can't wait to hear what the terms are. My guess: £3.25m up front, £250k a year plus a fixed percentage of any sale price in the future.
rallyboy Posted 10 April, 2013 Posted 10 April, 2013 agreed in principle? Sounds a bit fragile to me, with the potential to not be agreed, in principle. No time for any vagueness, it has to be sorted, now - in fact, within 48 minutes! Without seeing detail we have to assume that the Trust has upped it's offer to Chinny, perhaps committing more money that they don't have. Will that stop Portsea declaring a fantastic victory and partying like a former PM has just died? I fear not. Sensible folk will await the detail.
trousers Posted 10 April, 2013 Posted 10 April, 2013 @pn_neil_allen: Have been told Portpin made initial moves last night. Unclear what precise final deal is but Trust very happy! #Pompey
andysstuff Posted 10 April, 2013 Posted 10 April, 2013 So just a case of awaiting implosion of PDT after months of squabbling over budgets and competitiveness. I for one can't wait.
trousers Posted 10 April, 2013 Posted 10 April, 2013 @pn_neil_allen: Cannot expand, all a little sketchy. But back for 3pm for developments. Encouraging though. #Pompey
trousers Posted 10 April, 2013 Posted 10 April, 2013 So, the -10 is applied at 1 minute past 3pm then...?
trousers Posted 10 April, 2013 Posted 10 April, 2013 @NabilHassan79: Judge also asked for clarification regarding Keith Harris and Football League. Birch and co have now left court to seal deal. #pompey
trousers Posted 10 April, 2013 Posted 10 April, 2013 Sky Sports News @SkySportsNews31s Sky sources: Pompey Supporters' Trust have agreed deal in principle to buy Fratton Park from Balram Chainrai. More on #ssn now
Matthew Le God Posted 10 April, 2013 Posted 10 April, 2013 So, the -10 is applied at 1 minute past 3pm then...? The Football League board will need to have a meeting about it. They may decide to make it conditional on how Pompey finish the season, if they are relegated anyway then the point deduction applied next season or else it isn't a punishment for diluting a failed CVA.
andysstuff Posted 10 April, 2013 Posted 10 April, 2013 @NabilHassan79: Judge also asked for clarification regarding Keith Harris and Football League. Birch and co have now left court to seal deal. #pompey That's odd

Isn't there a football league statement from a couple of months ago that was pretty categoric in saying the points deduction would kick in "as soon as Pompey come out of administration" - I don't recall any caveats in the statement (but that doesn't mean there aren't any under the covers of course) Anyone got the exact wording of the original statement?
Lifelongsaint83 Posted 10 April, 2013 Posted 10 April, 2013 14:18 Comment From PUPLDN Agreed with Ken - don't celebrate until we know for sure... We have all suffered long enough and I hope we are owed some karma for the future!
trousers Posted 10 April, 2013 Posted 10 April, 2013

Mark Acheson: Emma has just phoned me quickly from court - talks are between administrators and Portpin - we have no clue yet as to nature of deal provisionally reached, except that the Trust is pleased. Reasonable then to assume from that that the deal is for Portpin to go, leaving Trust to take over. But to emphasise, no confirmation of that yet

trousers Posted 10 April, 2013 Posted 10 April, 2013 That's odd Hassan then tweeted that the judge was duty bound to ask about that....i.e. just a formality to show in the records that he had asked about it on behalf of the creditors....well, that's his interpretation anyway

Ultimately, an eight-man Football League board will decide the outcome once the club comes out of administration. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-fears-over-points-deduction-next-season-1-4852481

Accept a deduction of 10 points in the 2012/13 season;

Minty Posted 10 April, 2013 Posted 10 April, 2013 Jesus, the overreaction from their fans on that News link is comedy. It's a court case to determine if, and for how much, the ground can be sold to the PST. Nothing more, nothing less. It hasn't suddenly given you £300m to play with, it hasn't promoted you back to the Premier League, it sure as hell doesn't undo everything else that has gone before. And it certainly doesn't guarantee anything about your future. It could even prove to be a millstone around your neck in the future, especially given the state it is in. It's a bit like a tramp celebrating that he's been allowed to buy a wheelie bin to live in.
Tokyo-Saint Posted 10 April, 2013 Posted 10 April, 2013 It's a bit like a tramp being made to pay I've the odds for the wheely bin they live in. BC has played a blinder here, pushing the price up with a fake bidder.
