Pompey Takeover Saga

Looks like Bin Haim is missing tomorrows game due to a hip injury.

Shame we could have given him a heroes welcome for his part in fleecing Skatesmuff for a few years. Pity he backed down in the end on his demands.

Has he been paid any of his outstanding money - ha ha silly question really!!

What is this please?

I think he works for Chelsea's community football coaching and the skates have (quite rightly) turfed them out of portsmuff. I believe Chelsea have been trying to poach support and talent in Winchester as well and the world has enough glory hunters as it is.

Attendances in the Singapore league are so low the players have started going round knocking on doors to try to entice new fans to matches. They average 932 spectators a match.

Wonder if they will start doing this in Portsmyth?

Stil no date for the court hearing? Or have I missed it?

I noticed that BBC south today said that the council loan was agreed only hours before it had to be , implying the court had said put up or shut up in effect

No date yet that I've seen or heard. A week ago yesterday Birch declared that the court would set a date "within a few days"... Bear in mind though that a few days on Planet Pompey is the equivalent of 6 weeks on Planet Earth...

No, they haven't been turfed out of anywhere, no top rated club can be plus Cobham is within 90mins of Pompey (apparently).

Looks like the toaster brigade have got it wrong. I would like to believe we would have such luck when the push came to the shove, but we were so so close to go forever. We got away with it by the skin of the teeth

Rubbish. Our situations are not even remotely comparable and we were never so so close to going forever. It's nonsense.

Laughable horses hit.

Still doing the "they've got away with it" fantasy I see.

after what I have endured the last week, this club really is full of scum. For those who have read that **** head Awfords column in The News, they have played some very dirty tactics.

In my opinion, they've just bitten off more than they can chew.

What did he say? He does come across as a rather unpleasant character. But he's "Pompeeeee fru an' fru, ain't eeee?"

Skates getting ahead of themselves on their fans forums - convinced Tesco are going to partner with them and build them a massive new stadium as a result of the Robinson deal.

Lol. Yes, that's right. Now's the right time to build the 36,000 pottydrome - just as you're levelling out at the bottom of League One. At least it'll give Puncheon something to sh1t in til 2016.

not sure where you picked that up. Chelsea do a (very good) after school club at my son's infant school every week - about a mile from Fatpipe park

Skates Online.

I don't think it's right for Chelsea to be operating down here really, however they cloak it.

Especially as inviting a young player to join Chelsea's academy is as futile a gesture for their long term prospects as asking the skates to honour a payment schedule.

Why has everyone suddenly decided that the Judge will rule in their favour?

We learnt that from Injustices Mann and Whats-her-name.

Anyway, it looks like my prediction of a February liquidation has been skittled by the mysterious £4 million increase in PPs. Looks like that pact they signed with the devil hasn't expired yet. Well, not until the yes-this-time-it's-really-the very-last PP in August. popcorn-and-drink-smiley-emoticon.gif

My 999th nutjob post. I've been keeping my powder dry this month, hoping my 1000th would coincide nicely with their demise, but to no avail. :( I don't think I can hold off posting for 6 months, so plan B is to do a trousers and post 999 more just before they go pop in August.

Any pro club can operate within 90mins of their training base.

Under the new rules any top rated academy can operate where ever it wishes.

If the skate cun.ts haven't bothered sorting their own academy out then fu.ck them.

Shouldn't the court case be held asap so that

1. The Trust can buy the ground

2. Administration ends with the Trust in control

3. 10 points are deducted THIS SEASON.

If it is all left to the last moment then the season will be ending so the points will be deducted next season.

We want to start the club running not drowning.

Get a move on and value the ground !!

It's not an impossibility to stay up. They just need to be 10 points and goal difference above the relegation zone by the end of the season as precedents stand.

So that probably means they need to end up on 50 points as L1 history shows. They have 24 points and there are 11 games left so if they won them all they would have 57 points. Then they would still get hit with minus 10 but this season thus avoiding a minus 10 next season. Tactics for Guy Whittingham to consider as he plays the unattached player transfer market with his budget.

My sentiments exactly. Poster on POL seemed to think that the club asked the council to get Mountbatten Leisure Centre to tell Chelsea they couldn't use the facility. So typical scummy Pompey strike again. Local kids have their very enjoyable football sessions cancelled cos Pompey are too shambolic to mow their own ****ing lawn. disgrace of a club. (if the POL poster is presenting the correct facts of course)

Perhaps.....but realistically?....plus, thats with the assumption the judge will suggest a knock-down price which could very well end up in court again as well as IF the PST take over, now for me there are just too many variables.

What a load of bollo.xs. We were nowhere near being liquidated.

well it shows what you know. At that time i had a very reliable source at the club, he has since left.We were goners.

Pompey are alive because they have had tens of millions of PP's to keep them alive as well as Bc who has made it his business to stop them going into liquidation, to keep his chances of getting his money back

Fry said if we didn't have a buyer within a week he had a decision to make. I read that as liquidation.

I read it as posturing to try and generate a bit more activity. After all, Markus Liebherr and others had expressed interest, but valuable time was wasted with the interference into the process of the Le Tiss tyre-kickers. It really is incredible that we were deemed to be on the verge of liquidation with the relatively low level of debt and the value of our infrastructure and latent support, whilst the Skates have probably been trading insolvently for the past year or more with no really serious buyers apart from Chinny and the Trust.

Chelsea try to operate in this part of Hampshire as well too. I'd imagine with less success. It's not the academy thing that concerns me, it's the community football aspect of it. This isn't Chelsea's community.

Then why in the name of Greek Buggery hasn't PFK and Birch closed that circus down already?

That is the Million Dollar Question

IMHO, Someone, somewhere, at a VERY high level, has been using their "influence" to keep them "alive"

ANY other Business, trading insolvent, would have been closed down months ago ... ( try running on empty yourself, and see how far you get )

It is despicable, it is corrupt, and it's about time someone in the know had the B&lls to do a Whistle blower on the situation

It's not rubbish Hypo, it was close, we were past the bluffing and administrator speak stage. I would also point you the direction of Clapham Saint's post, presumably you know the line of business he is in.

Where is the proof of this? We would have found someone to take us over, most likely with very reduced circumstances but we weren't getting liquidated.

Whilst what you say is correct .... It's simply down to the PPs. That is ultimately what has kept them alive. Because the creditors agreed to a 500k CVA, and they managed to come to a compromise with players, the 11mil due since last summer allows them to pay all that - which is greater than a liquidation sale - the issue now is that with the 3 mill trust cash + the council loan, they want to pay back some that over time and keep 3 mil or so in cash rather than pay creditors more - in effect doing the same again, only with the creditors being mugs for agreeing to the 500k in the first place....

Actually we were very very close.

I went to a meeting where Crouch, McMenemy and Mary Corbett told us that the Football Club were now just about out of money. Bearing in mind this is not SLH in Administration we are talking about. The statement made was that there wasn't enough money to allow SFC to go into administration. If it wasn't saved quickly it was liquidation.

Don't you think meetings like that have happened at all clubs in admin all the time. Luton. Coventry.Bradford. Whoever. They've all got their "24 hours from oblivion" story.

We would never have gone under. Nowhere near.

The truth is probably somewhere in between. No money left approaching insolvent trading and thus liquidation in any normal circumstance - but in reality, Barclays and Aviva would have know they stood a far better chance of getting something if a new buyer came in - and the infrastructure available as a club was a good possibility of this happening - i think if push had come to shove, Aviva and or Barclays may thave swapped debt for equity and taken contrrol whilst awaiting for a sale...
