Pompey Takeover Saga

I've not really been following this thread too closely but is it too late to form a Southampton Supporters trust and try to outbid the PST? Obviously Pompey fans are better than us but I reckon we've got more of them (aside from the 200,000 who lined the streets after they won the cup) as such I think we could raise more capital and out bid them.

Imagine the fun we could have if WE owned Pompey. We could rename Fratton, 'The Matt Le Tissier International Stadium' and paint the seats red and white. Then sign a load of players from the womens Sunday League.

And change the badge to a picture of a fish...

I'm in!

Hassan has lost track of the facts - and I note that he is being sponsored by the word finally.

if PKF can finally force the sale of Fratton Park and finally relinquish Balram Chainrai's hold on Pompey then the PST will be taking control of a financially-sound club.

Do tell me Mr H, where is the money coming from to pay off the old debts, the new debts, the shortfall to football creditors, AND to cover the day-to-day running costs of this financially-sound club?

From 16k gates in League Two?

A group of them are investing £1,000 each to create the largest community-owned club in Britain in a bid to save the team they love.

"For me, this is about my kids, who all have Pompey in their names," supporter Micah Hall told BBC Sport in November.

Looks like the "Intrepid Sleuth" may need his money back pronto, to pay his own legal costs. ;)

please can we plough through this page fairly quickly so we don't linger on that top post - Kraken's disturbing fantasy image of the right honourable Minister for Pastries and Pies.

It may well make his honourable member stand up in the commons and pass something, but I'll give that particular tugboat a wide berth ta.

Call me picky but I prefer my women less-bouncy castle and more swimming pool lilo.

And less annoying.

That said, if I ever fancy a go on something that looks like the interior of a high-mileage, ex-Hertz Mondeo after the airbags have gone off, accompanied by dirty talk about the PFA, there's only one penny slot that I'll pop my loose change into.

But it would have to be the last money box in town - so please fill this page.

@pn_neil_allen: A year ago today PKF were appointed as administrators of #Pompey. 30 league places lower, 32 defeats and no new owner here we are...

Happy anniversary agent Birch :)

Although their actions have been necessarily cloaked in operational secrecy, the day will come - like those who worked at Bletchley Park or within the Special Operations Executive (SOE) - when the story of our agents can be told. I don't think I'd be giving much away if I were to hint that agents Birch, Cala, Chanrai et al. will soon be able to stand up proudly to acknowledge the significant - if covert - parts they have played in the skates' downfall.

@NabilHassan79: #pompey: A year in administration. My look back at the past 12 months at Fratton Park: http://t.co/sXnZBeGl

I see that Admin1 has all but been wiped out from the annals of history...

The prelude to this sorry tale began in November 2011 with the collapse of Snoras Bank, which had been part-owned by the then-Pompey chairman Vladimir Antonov.

Pompey were soon placed into administration as it emerged they had debts of £61m and faced the very real threat of liquidation.

As funny a that would be it is no more realistic than the trust taking over. If we were to gazump the skates it would have to be for a deal with Tesco, it looks like there are plenty of property developers and people with liquidation experience ahead of us now.

In fact, good old Voldermort has mentioned he was meeting potential pompey owners up to four times a week when in charge of the laughing stock:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2013/feb/15/michael-appleton-blackburn-rovers-arsenal

"To deal with two administrations, losing 10 points twice and your best players, not getting paid, having to lay off staff and to chip in and pay for your dinners … I'd gone there to work with owners who wanted to improve the infrastructure of the club, and then after two weeks the earth collapsed beneath us. The last month I was there I must have been called over to the stadium three or four times a week to meet potential new owners, or to have serious conversations with the administrators over the possibility the club would fold. In the end it became smothering. You felt you were constantly picking people up: the fans, the players, the staff, even the administrators sometimes. Being offered the Blackpool job was almost a relief. It was certainly a release."

FFS Trev, tell these mugs to hurry up and pack their bags... Chinney wants these chancers OUT of his fratton hotel post haste, as mentioned above (and Haris), there are plenty of people looking to rent the presidential suite of nottarf.

I understand there is a homeless shelter at Moneyfields the ramshackle skates could use... it even has two pitches, one for playing on and one for training on... its the perfect home.

On the subject of Penny Mordaunt.

Has anyone actually highlighted the fact that Fratton falls into the Portsmouth South constituency, not her Portsmouth North.

Incidentally, the actual MP for Fratton and therefore Portsmouth FC, is Mike Hancock... a fence si.... sorry, Liberal Democrat.

Yeah, but given Pompey bring c.£300m into the Portsmouth community as a whole she has a vested interest...

Interesting point you make though. Why hasn't Hancock been as vociferous as Mordaunt...?

A skate on twitter dares to criticise the trust's bid and the Pompey Pravda. Local Journalist of the Year isn't happy by the looks of things...

Luke Carden ‏@luke_carden

@pn_neil_allen @peteblackman I don't believe anything reported in the news, clearly a pst supporter and narrow minded, their bid has no cash

Luke Carden ‏@luke_carden

£20 to park the away team coach, the Robinson regime has started. #thefutureunderthePST #laughingstock

Neil Allen ‏@pn_neil_allen

Please look for yourself at @luke_carden and his previous #Pompey tweets. It is solid gold comedy.

If he's actually parted with £2000 of his own hard-earned on 'shares' in the PST, I think he has every right to be locked up for his own safety...

Portsmouth trust are considering suing the government. HCC and the fa for failing to protect the club under articles 5 a right to liberty and security . In that the three name respondents have done nothing to help with their security to survive as a long standing football club. Also the trust are perusing a claim under article 1 of the 1st protocol in that the trust believe the maintaining the historic football ground called fratton park should be classed as a grade one historic monument and preserved at all costs

For a few seconds I believed that. But then I thought: not even the PDT could be that deluded, could they.

Could they?

Really?

Well they say some of the worst examples of 50's and 60's architecture are listed just so they can be preserved to show future generations of architects how badly they can go wrong...
