They mean 40 of the 1330 surely. This is how Ports myths start, in a few weeks time some skate goons will be quoting that as evidence of them being the bestest.

I'm not so sure, I think they teach it ;o)

the Trust are in a really strong position now - they have exclusivity, they have all of their funding in place, so this deal should be complete by Wednesday.

We'd better book a venue for the Nutjob Thread-Closure event.

I could do this Friday but I'm not about Saturday.

http://m.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/loan-man-impressed-by-blues-backing-1-4774413

Adam Reed believes Pompey are heading in the right direction after getting a taste of the club’s fanatical support.

The on-loan Sunderland midfielder turned in one of his best displays in his short spell at Fratton Park during the 2-0 loss at Bournemouth.

And he pointed to a moment in the game when he understood the difference the vocal backing from the travelling Pompey fans can make to a player.

Reed explained: ‘I’m enjoying it down here.

‘You see how much this club means to the fans here. I went into a tackle over near them and they all roared for me.

‘I tackled their lad quite hard and he had a little whinge, so our fans started getting on his back a bit.

‘But when you get that kind of support it gives you that little extra boost.

‘It really helps you to keep going for the 90 minutes and I want to do my best to help this club get a few results.

@solentsport: #pompey boss Guy Whittingham may promote another player from the youth team rather than sign a replacement for departing Frankie Sutherland

Only 3 years too late...

" Promote " ??? ........... I expect the poor little sod is crying his eyes out already ......." after all my hard work, what a way to end what I had hoped would have been a career in football " .. he sobbed uncontrollably

The Pope is resigning at the end of the month. There is no truth in the rumour that he intends to buy PFC.

No but he'll be a free agent and they could do with bolstering their squad. Maybe he could "coach" the youth team, I've heard these religious types are good at that?

Perhaps they got the wrong club through some internal mis-communication.

"yes, you know that club with all the amazing history that's now scrambling around in league one? they're behind on their taxes again!"

Pompey bigger than Southampton shock:

Portsmouth/Southampton metropolitan area 1,547,000 Portsmouth (500,000), Southampton (376,000), Bognor Regis (66,000), Salisbury (29,000), Winchester (27,000), Andover (26,000)

If we can get Bognor on side, we'll be bigger than Pompey!

Credit to Hall for striking whilst the iron is hot this time around....

http://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/portsmouth/fb_news.php?storyid=31391

"Surely a better use of a spare £3m would be to buy Fratton Park - which is what the PST bid proposes - rather than spending out unnecessary money on renting a stadium which can be owned from Day One?"

Err, that is of course if the stadium is only valued at £3m, which strikes me as at least 50% under the market rate.

Just one possible little problem with that statement Micah, what if a judge were to say that FP is worth more than 3m? I guess we will find out soon...........

Edit: damn, beaten to it........ great minds and all that, Joe.......

Indeed. Though you have to wonder when he is going to do something similar for the trust's inner circle? ....who also have no money and who also plan to borrow to buy the club, and some of whom also have business records that include financial troubles.

'So on the day Harris was announcing he was our Fairy Godmother and that we should go to the ball, his company was going under, owing £3m to the mysterious Gorbunenko and £1m to the taxpayer'

Bit cheeky highlighting that as a stick to beat him with.

How much did pompey owe the taxpayer in their last 2 administrations? £60m?

Indeed and a good job too. We need Hall to be at his best for the next couple of weeks. We don't want anything getting in the way of the pst bid- It must go through and ensure that many generations of Saints fans remain as the South Coasts top dogs.

Surprised they missed this loan player loophole...

And the taxman loses another court battle...

I would suggest that HMRC offerd no evidence if the hearing lasted less than a minute. I would speculate that the payment was made late, after the petition had been issued.

This is probably true and Notts County not likely to admit same.

In reality they did not pay when they should have done after repeated requests.

Pompey would never do such a thing...........they just would not pay.

It just depends on the definition of the respective "urban areas". Portsmouth includes Havant, Waterlooville, lee on solent etc. Southampton doesnt contain Totton, Romsey, Winchester, Waterside etc. In fact Southampton "greater urban area" only consists of Southampton, Eastleigh and Bishopstoke. Portsmouth urban area population is 442,252.

If Lee on the Solent is included then surely Gosport should be.

So, from 376000 we can "pack the park" with 31000 plus

Whilst Skatesville, from 442242 can "Pack Their Park" with 10000 Bestest

No wonder they are MASSIVE ................. or do I mean PASSIVE ???

Why would anybody trust Wikipedia for something like this? As you rightly point out, it is ridiculous including somewhere as far away from Portsmouth as Havant, with its massive Leigh Park council estate and not including places that are closer than that near Southampton. Ditto, if Gosport and Lee on Solent are included, which are across the water from Portsmouth, then why not the waterside areas too? Where does Portsmouth end towards us and Southampton start? Fareham? Titchfield? Locks Heath? Bursledon?

In any event, these figures are over a decade out of date.

I couldn't believe what I saw yesterday, as soon as Bournemouth scored the first goal loads of drunken Pompey fans run down the bottom pushing over children and people in wheelchairs trying to get at the Bournemouth fans.

Sadly, after reading Twitter yesterday after the game it does seem that it did happen. One of the "twitterers" had photos of what happened and has forwarded them to the

Relevant authorities

ah, usual 'banter' then
