JackFrost Posted 9 February, 2013 Posted 9 February, 2013 And, so far, OldNick has been right... Depends what you call "getting away with it" IMO if they'd got away with it they'd still be in the PL having secured a half decent buyer. Since it all hit the fan they've been largely free falling through the divisions and almost certainly going to be in league 2 next season (assuming they aren't kicked out the league at the end of the season) Their are never going to just "disappear" or "cease to exist" whilst their in the FL, even if they do get wound up after dropping into the conference or below an "AFC Pompey" will simply replace them. Personally I think them free falling through the leagues with the accompanying hilarity has been the best thing for them. It's been slow and painful for them, and by continuing to sign players they can't afford even after/whilst they've been in admin it's been self-harming in the long-term. If the club had been liquidated, they'd be a complete irrelevance after a week or so. By being kept alive their a laughing stock that are becoming a complete irrelevance.

Agree but then AFC Pompey will be a new club without history. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2

DS Posted 9 February, 2013 Posted 9 February, 2013 Time for an open topped bus parade in Skatesville. They've just gone an entire half of football without being behind.
saintmatt Posted 9 February, 2013 Posted 9 February, 2013 Agree but then AFC Pompey will be a new club without history. Rightly or wrongly they'll still lay claim to the trophies won by old pompey unfortunately, rangers and afc wimbledon have
Waterside.saint Posted 9 February, 2013 Posted 9 February, 2013 Time for an open topped bus parade in Skatesville. They've just gone an entire half of football without being behind. Neil Allen will be insufferable, I'm bracing myself for a thrilling account of how the pluckiest underdogs in the whole world got a point
hutch Posted 9 February, 2013 Posted 9 February, 2013 Time for an open topped bus parade in Skatesville. They've just gone an entire half of football without being behind. Didn't they manage that at Swindon earlier in the season? Trying to remember how that turned out for them
Big Bad Bob Posted 9 February, 2013 Posted 9 February, 2013 Behind now against the run of play. eh?? Not according to the match stats on the BBC it isn't......the plucky phew haven't managed a shot on target yet..
andysstuff Posted 9 February, 2013 Posted 9 February, 2013 eh?? Not according to the match stats on the BBC it isn't......the plucky phew haven't managed a shot on target yet.. Only repeating what they said on final score - said they dad bossed the second half. Who cares, as long as they aren't winning.
andysstuff Posted 9 February, 2013 Posted 9 February, 2013 Hartlepool drawing. Makes the gap one point.
Waterside.saint Posted 9 February, 2013 Posted 9 February, 2013 Bournemouth 1 Pompey 0 They're now 9 points adrift of safety.

Waterside.saint Posted 9 February, 2013 Posted 9 February, 2013 And Hartlepool equalise vs Swindon Thats pretty good against Swindon.
Waterside.saint Posted 9 February, 2013 Posted 9 February, 2013 Scunny are one up, leaving the skates 11 points south of safety. Happy days

Tomobz Posted 9 February, 2013 Posted 9 February, 2013 Hahaha! One more loss and they'll be the only team I've ever seen that has a solid bar of red in the BBC form guide. Brilliant!
andysstuff Posted 9 February, 2013 Posted 9 February, 2013 Isn't that 2 new records for them now - longest without a win and longest losing streak. They really are the bestest.
Tomobz Posted 9 February, 2013 Posted 9 February, 2013 I believe so! They're still the best fans ever though, in the whole world, ever!

Tomobz Posted 9 February, 2013 Posted 9 February, 2013 It warms the cockles of my heart, it really does I'll be supporting the monkey hangers more than I have ever supported another team other than saints on tuesday. It would be a great double whammy of ten straight losses and rock bottom of the league! WTFILN
Waterside.saint Posted 9 February, 2013 Posted 9 February, 2013 Saints 3 Citeh 1 WTFILN Good times. How the skates must wish they'd not gambled their own future for a cup win and lost... Oh.
Waterside.saint Posted 9 February, 2013 Posted 9 February, 2013 Now let me see what does today's result make their recent form? Ah yes LLLLLLLDDDLLLLLLLLL And every prospect of another loss when they visit the Monkey Hangers next Tuesday :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

rallyboy Posted 9 February, 2013 Posted 9 February, 2013 I told you we are being spoilt. Look at the Premier League results and table, look at what happened today in League One - this is officially the greatest day in the history of football!

If they'd been liquidated they'd be on their way back now when in fact they much further to fall. They are starting to get some medicine, but the glorious Wembley visits and trophies is hardly been paid back on the back of 2-3 poor seasons. When they drop out of the league then they may have nearly got payback. They still up til the last few months have been fielding some decent players, they have not shown any remorse for screwing charities and small businesses and are still not dead.

What are you actually hoping for which will constitute a full and proper punishment? The public flogging of the whole city? Maybe some sample executions of fans who were at wembley, just to set an example?
Lifelongsaint83 Posted 9 February, 2013 Posted 9 February, 2013 Saints FC Fans @SaintsFCFans Pompey fans getting off at Soton central on way back from Bournemouth and decided to beat the train guards up ..sums them up really #fools If this is true what a classy bunch they are!
