Pompey Takeover Saga

Nice piece Neil, erm, I mean Rallyboy.

I'm assuming that at least some of the 11 HNWs are starting to wonder whether their weekly injections are actually worth it at this point now. They're in the drop zone and have 10 points to come off so you'd have to think that the HNWs keeping the club afloat are better off watching the inevitable player exodus, reducing the outgoings and accepting relegation so they can divert wasted player salaries into a bit of extras for any post-court fighting fund. I'd certainly like to be a fly on the wall at their meetings. I bet there's a fair amount of division going on. Lots of egos at work etc.

Draft Press Release.

A New Year, a fresh start, ...

.... and 2013 could see pompey right back where they belong.

ends

Well, that's one part which is true. :D

I think TCWTB should go on Dragon's Den, even those hard nosed business people seem to buy into the Bestest fans myth.

"Back home from watching #Pompey with some old friends great to catch up Crap first half better Second half Unbelievable passionate fans !"

In fairness, I did hear that their booing was very passionate.

Just a quick one, fellas: I'm sure I recall they did a ticket offer recently - something like 2 adults & 2 kids for £20 rings a bell - can anyone remember what game it was, the details, or can you point me to the link or page on here. I can't find it and have to win an argument with a skate chump online. This is a serious business. :)

Sarah's back on the News.

http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/whittingham-bemoans-costly-errors-at-the-back-1-4629510

Here's the problem.

If Chanrai can show (a) anyone on the planet is willing to offer him more than £2.7m for his charge OR (b) his charge is worth more than £2.7m OR © the Trust and their property developers can't/won't pay £2.7m, this game is over. Most likely, their hapless, amateur bid fails at point A. It's that simple. (On balance, it looks like the Chanrai charge over Fratton and floating charge over all club assets is worth about £5m-£7m).

The Trust has failed to explain how either (a) they will reduce severance payments to ex-players by £6m (from the £8m agreed to the £2m in thier business plan) or (b) how the on-running costs of PKF and the players, which have now about emptied any bank balance, alters their plans or © how they have re-adjusted their plans in light of very low revenues (and low-ish attendances) at Fratton or (d) how their plans look different in League 2, with releagtion now a 1/10 certainty according to most betting markets.

I'd seriously advise against giving £1K to the Trust in these circumstances. And I'm already considering referring them to the FSA in a personal capacity.

You will not be buying a "share" in the sense that people understand, you will be throwing your money into a bucket that might - just might - (with one hell of a following wind) make Colin Farmery a very junior and (IMHO) totally hapless partner to a consortium of property developers.

If you have been witless enough to hand over a grand, I suggest you ask for your £997.50 back and put it down to experience.

I'm so sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings. I wish the Trust bid had been run competently and seriously. I wish The News had shown the wit to back a proper community-run club

Sadly, neither has happened. Utterly incompetent journalism and a lunatic bunch of wannabe uber-fans are now killing the club. Pains me to say it. But someone has to.

She makes a fair point or two.

Pah, talk about plagair plaiga oh feck it copy & pasting.

She's done nothing clever she's just been reading this thread.

I said it a couple of months back  - all Chinny needs is a proof of funds and a bid for the land.

IF only one other tyre kicker existed out there and TB did not talk to them and they found Chinny's email address, the PDT is screwed.

But they can't do that can they? Until the club officially turns the HNW into LNW then they have a moral obligation [lol] to uphold the promise they made in their manifesto - 'to keep Pompey playing at the highest possible level' ;)

If they bail out on that promise less than three months after they published the manifesto, what other promises will be next?

The boos must have been belted out with some vehemency from the mighty 12k then.

My own personal favourite comment under that article:

"I have it on very very good authority that non league football has been appied (sic) for.. i also am aware that havant and waterloville have been asked to enter discussions concerning a ground share"

Am hearing that it is likely that the hearing on the 15th is to set a further two day hearing to hear the case. Could well be a further four to six weeks from that date. It would be very amusing if they were still in admin in March, got relegated without the points deduction and then had it taken off next season.

Hmmm....a cynic would venture it's being stretched out to beyond the next parachute payment date accidentally on purpose....

What are the chances that Birch and the PDT have struck up a deal?

Something along the lines of: "Trev, we've come to the conclusion that us taking over the existing club is pie in the sky. How about we stretch things out to the next parachute payment date upon which you announce that the club is going into liquidation. We can then set up a truely debt free community club in the non-league structure, free at last from the shackles of Chainrai and co. Deal?"

Meanwhile, in this week's episode of Hero To Zero...

@joemichalczuk: Izale McLeod leaving is a big loss - easily 'Appys best signing - often frustrating but can't argue with that goal record in a woeful side

@pn_steve_wilson: @joemichalczuk No chance. Dreadful attitude, couldn't care less and I've got a better first touch than him - when wearing concrete boots!

@joemichalczuk: @pn_steve_wilson 7th top scorer in league - 10 in dec in the worst Pompey side I can remember - 'often frustrating' - but stats = huge loss

@pn_neil_allen: @joemichalczuk @pn_steve_wilson I agree Joe. A curious character though, for all his goals never accepted by fans. Oh and awful in the air!

The lengths they go to to avoid due punishments............

McLeod was suspended for tomorrow's match, so they terminate his contract early in order to sign someone eligible to play.

Same old cheating ****s.

By the way, I presume DC is aware of the state of their treatment room!

2012 has been very kind;

ANOTHER Relegation

ANOTHER Administration

ANOTHER Points Deduction

ANOTHER Court Case

ANOTHER Shady Owner

And all that with more come. Chuck in Our success and you can start to see where the "Nutjobs" get their kicks.

An honurable mention to Mr Cala and his underwater hotels - Thanks for the laughs.

Happy New Year to you all.

There really is something in the water down there - Steve Wilson must be Neil Allen's brother/father/uncle.

Perhaps outsiders will misunderstand that chant or the fact the team was loudly booed off at half-time. They may consider it disloyal or a lack of support.

But it wasn’t about the scoreline and it wasn’t about the fact the team had played so poorly.

It was the lack of pride.

Why do they need to justify their special booing - team plays crap, fans boo, just like any other club. But oh no, Skate booing is special and different and justified. Every time I start to feel a little sympathy for them, sh1te like this appears to remind me.

Anyway a happy new year and onwards towards page 2000

Well if they just want people playing with pride I would suggest they take the loudest fan's and get them to play instead. Surely then when they lose 13-0 the crowd cannot boo them?

With Portpin now teetering on the brink of defeat, the wages under control, income up, Birch having finished his work, and the Trust about to take the keys, this would seem a good time to close this thread.

The new year is a natural break after all, a time for us to accept that the dirty sister of all takeovers has completed, bar the rubber-stamping, and that 2013 will be the year that they bounce back.

Personally I'll be sad to see the end of this golden era, I may even display my feelings through constructive booing - not disloyal or ignorant booing, just supportive justified booing.

And if you Nutjobs were proper passionate plucky bestest football fans, you would know the difference - though I would imagine we'll all be home by 7pm today as we'll leave at halftime, booing as we go - and not in the good way that has just been invented.
