Pompey Takeover Saga

I watched the second half of your game on TV. Funny as ****, your terrible. When are you twunts going to realise that Cortese is f*cking your club up. Yet you divs bang on about Adkins, poor Tango, it ain't his fault. Look to Nasty Nick and Slimy Les for the problems. At least when your in div 1, no one notices or gives a ****, your soap opera is slowly unravelling for the whole country to see. Anyway you sleuths have had a month now, whats the story with your BVI loan, how much is it for and what is it secured against? Facts not speculation please.

PES how did you get on against Stevenage? Did anyone really notice other than the 250,000 pikies that went to see the game (as they do every game) and us on here.....no one else gave a toss. You are 3rd division where you've spent most of your years, your natural position...you had your taste of the big time and fuucckked up big time. Well done for cheating the charities, the taxman, local business...you are obviously so proud to be a skate...again congratulations.

OK, if you did watch last night then you'd be aware that the Saints fans were loudly supportive of Adkins with Sky commenting on it as he walked across the pitch to applaud them. A few bedwetters on a messageboard are not as representative of a club's fans as much as the hardcore that actually go to games, particularly ones up country on a Monday night live on Sky. It's a bit like deluded skates telling the world on t'internet that they're the "bestest" when in reality...

Talking of deluded, has the f*ckwit at the News linked McAppless with the Scottish job yet?

If you want deluded, read this peps:

From skatesonline (non peodo division)

Well they can't play for another club this side of Jan. can they? By then we'll hopefully have the PST. If the players have performed poorly up to then, we shouldn't be keeping them anyway. I am not too fussed about losing a manager who is endlessly being linked away to what are often smaller clubs.

Mate. Something just came in from a local source but who could just possibly know some details. The person I need to check in with to get a bit more detail is currently in UK on the tube, it's midnight and I have a 6am start tomorrow & am even missing the game on telly 2night so unless he answers his phone in the next 20 mins it will have to wait until tomorrow.

It is funny, like before I just marked a time point in this thread as to when something may just have happened 7:47pm #76782

IF it is BS then everyone can put it down to usual D_P obliqueness, IF true then you'll understand why Rallyboy will need more confirmation. This could take us to the next level. Hollywood here this thread comes. We could become a movie before Bearsy's 50 Shades Thread

Any update kind sir? :)

What's even funnier is the managers they think they'll attract. Various POL f*ckwits suggesting the likes of Owen Coyle, Harry Redknapp, Gordon Strachan, Avram Grant, Nigel Adkins and David James should be in the frame. All of those are supposedly feasible on equivalent wages to Appy's current £2K per week.

Echo that.

Without wishing to point score or dwell on the negative side, if people want to read about the lack of sensitivity toward the victim then this is probably a better place to start: http://m.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-boss-admits-forward-was-not-ready-for-cup-clash-1-4442478

Check out the wording under the photo 'Nottingham County FC' ........ WTF? Wonder if that dickhead reporter Allan had a hand in writing that, about his level of miss reporting.

Apparently Poopey want £200k compensation, Karl has offered £50k.

This has all the hallmarks of Crouch being "desperate" to keep Burley when the Scottish FA came calling!!! Trevor Birch can't hold out for too much otherwise he will lose the chance to cash in what must be manna from heaven. He'll take the 50 grand and run but can't jump too soon as Blackpool will smell a rat.

I'm not sure that Birch is in the strongest bargaining position.

He can now offload UnAppy's meagre wage and leave a more capable coach like Whittingham in charge - but pushing his luck with cash demands could scupper any deal.

From Blackpool's point of view they just seem to want someone cheap who will live nearby - any footballing qualifications beyond that will be a bonus.

If pompey do get some cash from Blackpool you have to take your hat off to them.

They might not have a clue in the transfer market or an understanding of basic maths, but when it comes to selling really poor managers there is no one to rival them.

Getting money for Cotterill was bizarre, the best deal they've done since they stuck two fingers in the taxman's face.

And what becomes of the heroes if Appy departs?

Blackpool won't pay the money for the likes of Howard so he won't be able to rip the heart out of the battling squad.

The West Brom favours will stop, and IF any new owners come in they can have a complete clear out with no manager fighting against the budgetary constraints that should be in place.

Meanwhile the Trust and Portpin mutter under their breath about Trevor's fees.

The fees that were agreed ages ago and tick along nicely everyday.

And all the time they drag out moaning about them, the fees gently rise and soak up the money needed for next season, if there is a next season.

IMO the only thing keeping them competitive is Birch allowing Appy to pay over the odds.

If he leaves, the squad could dismantle, thus leaving them staring down the barrel of League Two.

Meanwhile, when is Phil going to spill the beans on our next conspiracy theory, and more importantly, why is he wearing a pompey tie in his latest PR shot?...;)

Trust me I hated that, but then it is the Corporate Colour.

I'll make up for it at the golf in a couple of weeks, I'll have Red & White on me for that don't worry.

@pn_neil_allen: Appleton has 2-and-a-half years left on a contract worth more than £200,000 a year. Naturally #Pompey want compensation from Blackpool.

So, in the fairyland world of Pompey finances, I make it that Blackpool would owe c.£8,000 of that £200,000 contract....

And of course there's the total lack of irony awareness from Mr Allen in stating that a Pompey contract should be honoured and/or properly compensated....

Portsmouth want £200,000 compensation from Blackpool for their highly-rated manager Michael Appleton.

The Mail revealed that Appleton was the leading contender to replace Ian Holloway, who left for Crystal Palace last week.

The Tangerines have made an official approach to Pompey and both clubs are currently locked in talks over a suitable compensation package.

The cash-strapped League One club want £200,000 to release Appleton from his contract, a price Blackpool are hesitant to pay.

But Blackpool owner Karl Oyston, whose club received in the region of £500,000 from Palace for Holloway, is confident a deal can be reached/

So, Tricky Trev wants £200,000 for UnAppy. Or, to put it another way, 22 days worth of fees for PKF. That should be just about enough to cover their costs for making sure the deal goes through (and give Trickster a nice little wedge to buy himself a gourmet Christmas hamper).

Nice of Simple Neil Allen to broadcast UnAppy's wages to all and sundry, though.

Not been on this thread for ages so not sure if this has already been posted, but this is a fun read. I do like it when fans of other clubs see through the 'poor old pomp*y' attitude.

They are a set of well informed fans the Baggies.

Good lads, particularly enjoyed this bit:

This muppet reminds me of the last game of the season in (whenever) when beating them 2-0 c/o Big Dave and the loanee from Manure, meant the Saints were relegated. They had our shirts on from the Club Shop, cheered our goals and were genuinely happy to get beat. Thank God they didn't score that day they would have probably booed their own team.

Reminds me of Sunderland fans a couple of years ago outside the Ground saying "hope you win" so they could get rid of Steve Bruce.

I am proud of my Club and if we EVER stoop that low I will not be in control of my actions. May you respectfully be totally ashamed, you sad *****.

The meeting took the form of an update from the Pompey Supporters Trust, with no fixed agenda set for the meeting. The below cover the points raised.

•It is acknowledged that, for obvious reasons, the Trust only able to make limited information publically available due to the ongoing discussions as regards club ownership.

•The Trust's aim for the future is to create transparancy at the club but cannot, unfortunately, be truly transparent at the moment during this acquisition phase

•Ashley then gave an account of events over the last few weeks

•Four weeks ago, the Trust were confident of being named the preferred bidder for the club

•Unfortunately, as has been mentioned in various public media, risk managers at PKF did an about turn and recommended Portpin to the Football League.

•Following this, there was a concerted effort to make the football league aware of all facts before a judgement was made, and the Football League read and took notes of the facts and articles put forward by the likes of Mike Hall and Sue Maskell.

•Following this, the Football League put questions to Portpin, some of which they were either unable to answer or did not answer in full.

•The Football League then went back to PKF and said that any deal with Portpin would take time, and the circumstances around discussion with Portpin made things very difficult.

PKF then went back to the Trust with a renewed interest in talking to them as regards a deal.

•One sticking point, as is publically known, is the situation around the charge on the ground. PKF wanted to do a deal with the Trust before any court case regarding the ground happened. The Trust refused this due to not wanting to risk paying any amount for the ground they were not happy with, they would prefer all amounts to be known pre-deal.

•The Presidents are underwriting the majority of legal fees, although the Trust are also underwriting a proportion.

•The Trust are meeting PKF once again early next week, w/b 5 November. A deal will not be done unless the Trust are confident that the Club would survive financially both in the short and long term, and that all demands/requests made by the Trust, as a result, are met.

•Taking on the club will require a lot of hard work, and a lot of work as regards discussions and getting a deal in place will take place over the next week.

•The share prospectus will, hopefully, be available next week. Full agreement on the figures is needed before circulation.

•The timeline for taking over the club depends on any court case brought by Portpin as regards their charge on the ground. It is looking likely that any case would happen in December, although a judgement would be made there and then. The case would be in two parts. 1) PKF go to the court and serve notice that they wish to sell Fratton Park for a set amount, which Portpin could challenge, 2) The court is reconvened later so the judge on the valuation of the ground. The latter part would happen in December time at current timeframes.

•The Trust have instructed their QC, and are in possession of independent valuations of Fratton Park. The Trust lawyers believe there is a very good chance of obtaining the valuation which the Trust want.

•As regards player settlements, a couple have still to be fully agreed, but not enough discrepancy to affect any bid. Money for players would be balanced by remaining parachute payments.

•No loans are involved as regards the money put in by the Presidents, it is all their own money.

•All but one of the Presidents are Pompey fans, with the other being a keen football fan. As well as those publicised, other fans have put in just as much money.

•The Trust have had an informal chat with Michael Appleton, and explained what the Trust are trying to do.

•Enquiries as regards how to pledge money are still coming in.

•It is acknowledged that, at Day One, the Trust would not own Fratton Park if they take over, with Stuart Robinson taking over Fratton Park initially. However, the Trust will have a period of exclusivity to buy the ground. To be clear for those with any concerns, any planning application to build on the land around the ground would have to be approved by Portsmouth City Council, with any build having to be beneficial to the football club. To be aware, this is not a concern from the Trust, this was in answer to a question put to them at this meeting.

•Protection will be in place as regards selling of club shares, so an 'aggressive takeover' would not be possible.

•The Trust would always hope to have at least 51% of the voting share of the Board, although 25% would be the minimum required to veto some decisions (some decisions would require a 75% majority, some a 90% majority).

So the fan backed takeover will be for only 51% of the club? that £1k is looking even worse value than before.

They'll be lucky to get 51%.

No wonder this has taken so fecking long; there's quite clearly still some absolutely enormous holes in the takeover plans. It truly will be hilarious if they decide to plough full steam ahead.

Gosh, I bet TB is stoked at this, it all sounds so concrete and he can go back to a proper job sometime soon.

About January by the looks of it...

Looks like PKF will be having a grand Christmas Party after all

I like coming on here - the main board is like an overloaded psychiatrist's casebook - anger, denial, delusion, self-loathing, psychopathic rage, plenty of depression and more hysteria than adult men should be capable of.

It's saying something when this cauldron of nutjobbery and obsession is considered 'normality' :) :)

@dermotodw: Fans loyalty admirable, but Appleton was an inexperienced average manager in a job too big for him

11k....that's ****. When we were on -10 and in league one at least we had 20k to watch against brentford...

Pompey = massive club. Everyone wants to play for the massive club and be apart of it. Except for Appy who seems to have applied for every job going...

There's a thread on gimps online poking fun at us losing away to West Brom. If that's funny how ****ing funny is losing another home match in League 1?!

But the bestest fans in the world continued to show their famously loyal support to their heroes in blue:

the News "Understandably, boos rang out at the final whistle as home fans vented their frustrations but if was Appleton’s last game in charge, it will not be one he remembers fondly. "

oh.....
