Or, as it seems more likely, would it be true that they'd be allowed to do it, but if one of their players ended up leaving, they wouldn't be allowed to replace him with an incoming transfer?

I think this is the case. Youngsters are not counted as first team players unless they have played som matches (?) for the first team. They let jouneymen suck the clubs tits dry while their footballing future doesn't get a drop...

I see it's the annual London and South East Media Awards tonight.... no one from the Portsmouth News sports team seems to have made the short list for Sports Journalist of the Year though....Surely some mistake....?

This is really embarrassing for them...I'm reliably informed they'd reserved two tables for the event.:?

Ferk me i nearly fell asleep, he is so monotone. Its like listening to an annoying drone.

He's waiting for Mancini to get sacked and then he'll take over at City.

Nah, waiting for Mourinho & Ronaldo to move to PSG, then he'll take over at Real Madrid and taking La Liga by storm with his combination of ignoring the youth team and bringing in month to month contracts with some added West Brom loanee's....

he actually sounded close to realistic this morning on Solent when discussing the FA Cup tie; said the most important thing was ensuring League One survival, so he clearly expects the -10 to be applied.

Then said it will be a 'massive' season for the club NEXT season.??

.... suspect the bit missing from the interview is wher he added:

'whether its PST or Portpin, both have indicated they are willing to invest heavily in the playing squad for promotion which will involve loans from WONGA and other serious financial institutions - so it will be a high risk strategy that may leave us in the red again, but hey nothing ventured.... - having seen off 2 admins in 2 years and 3rd should not be a problem as we know how to get round all the restrictions to remain competitive - which is our right - and whats more, there are plenty of mugs out there willing to lose money by investing in or providing services to this massive club.'

or maybe something like that?

OK I'll have a go:

Don't worry Appy, I don't think fans from any other clubs will want to join your board.

Am now convinced Michael Appleton is asking his journo pals to link him with champ jobs following #cpfc move for Holloway

Fook me.........10 pages back

Why do people keep linking him with jobs in the Championship? He's not exactly got a great CV.

Name: Michael Appleton

Occupation: Manager of Portsmouth, 15th in League 1

Achievements: One relegation

Played 49, won 13, drawn 11 and lost 25.

A 26.5% win ratio is bound to get you a championship job interview, surely? (NB Adkins has a 47.2% career win ratio).

Think he must be confusing the board room with Fratton Park.

Mikkel Andersen hasn't failed to notice that the reserve keeper he was competing 50/50ish with at Reading has taken over from Federici: http://www.bold.dk/nyt/Mikkel-A-Klar-hvis-Reading-kalder

Bascially it says that he has no regrets coming to Pompey but that he is interested in taking up the battle for the No.1 jersey at Reading. He uses the fact that he is not allowed to play against Notts Co. in the cup as an example that he is still in Reading's plans...

Losing at home to Notts County now

Shame. That'll be a real giant killing for County, what with pimpey being so massive with their bestest fanbase and all

I expect that the ref is to blame and has been overawed by the occasion, or is the FL for not allowing them a competitive squad (and by competitive I mean PL standard), or maybe it's Blackpool, Palace, Ipswich or any other team without a Manager in the last 2 years fault for unsettling their ultra talented manager Appy.

Well, it's only half time.

I'm sure the bestest will raw them on to a resounding 5-1 victory in the second half

One of their latest stars in trouble..

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/4625546/scott-allan-questioned-car-crash-leaves-pedestrian-critical.html

Mid-fielder Scott Allan was at the wheel of a £50,000 Audi when it allegedly reversed over the man, leaving him with critical head injuries.

Allan, 20, was questioned by police following the collision last night.

He is currently on a one-month temporary loan to crisis-hit Portsmouth FC.

The crash happened in nearby Southsea and police said that the victim, who lived near the scene, was rushed to hospital in Cosham, near Portsmouth.

A spokesman for Portsmouth FC confirmed that Scott had been involved in a road incident but said the club was making no comment.

He did not feature in the line-up for the team's FA Cup clash against rivals Notts County today.

Suppose Notts County were intimidated playing at such a wonderful stadium against world class players. The MASSIVE capacity crowd sure would have scared them half to death.

Or not.

Sent off straight to prison.

Almost two years to the day since his last little fracas. Unfortunately, this time there's a £50,000 Audi with a big dent as evidence.

Considering the oppo, & who we had out, along with 'Appy saying it was 'not on his radar' (etc), don't think it's that bad. Not been an 'upper' of a week - just drifting whilst we wait for news. So all in all, sounded like we weren't going to take this too seriously, wasn't our first 11.

Oh dear. Typical skate attitude again, believe that UnAppy was biging the game up yesterday saying that it would be a good game against good opposition and it should attract a good crowd... obviously that news did not get around the Republic of Portsea Island as only 7500 bothered to turn up. No big pay day to cover Tricky Trev's wages and the chance of the Trust to make some money on a decent cup run... LOL

I shouldn't laugh but...

@solentsport: #pompey's Scott Allan received a straight red card not two yellows according to referee Darren Sheldrake. He will now face a 3 match ban.

The Pompey trust bid document budgeted for 30,000 total attendance for the 1st rounds of the JPT, FA & Capital One Cups.

Actual total = 18,857
