The Kraken Posted 3 October, 2012 Share Posted 3 October, 2012 Well actually, you have to go back a step earlier than that. Before all this started PFC had £0 in the bank, then they were given £30k to use for the benefit of their fans and had £30k in the bank. Now they will allow people who otherwise would not have gone to Fratton (ie not theirfans) to go, at no cost to the club, and will end up with £30k in the bank (plus a few bob from selling programmes and food etc) , which they can spend on things which are still not to the benefit of their fans, such as PKF's fees for 3 or 4 days. It all makes perfect sense. I think you downplay it somewhat! 168 tickets are being made available per match, which for the entire £30K coming in equates to £12.00 per ticket. So an extra £2,000 per match day. That's just about enough funding to pay for Tricky Trev's time to turn up and watch the match!
Saint Lindford Posted 3 October, 2012 Share Posted 3 October, 2012 It seems that Tricky Trev has and I quote from one of the Blue Phew 'Trevor Birch had been taken out of the loop by PKF 10 days ago'. rallyboy Posted 3 October, 2012 Share Posted 3 October, 2012 so the fans won a cash prize by naively promoting a utility company's social media campaign... And after much debate about it not being used to pay off debts, rather than using it to do something useful, the club has indeed trousered it. Nice. Which means that the bulk of the bestest fans' cash prize is likely to be pocketed next week by Mr Chanrai. It's not going to clear much of his debt, but it's a start. Tweet an advert, win Chinny some cash. Well done everyone, good effort, not a waste of time at all.

I think they spotted his cunning ruse of actually looking like he was ready to make a decision one way or the other; we're now back into a holding pattern of evaluating all bids received (and clocking up the timesheets at that average rate of £299 for however many PKF employees are currently "working" on the PFC case. Draino76 Posted 3 October, 2012 Share Posted 3 October, 2012 Irony not lost on some; then. I get a 'hard-on' when I get a mention on rivals spaz boards. I have already managed it on KUMB, some Manure site and a Spuds board. What I am really looking for is a mention on POL, for the irony of Portsmouth moerons calling me a moran. tpbury Posted 3 October, 2012 Share Posted 3 October, 2012 I actually 'dig' they're approach. It could be a new model for lower league clubs. Basically, it's like going round the park asking subs if you 'want to play for our team'. Other L1 teams should adopt this - so long as you get decent players, you don;t have to build a team ethos, you just have to build a 'Wild Geese' mentality. Job done! The Kraken Posted 3 October, 2012 Share Posted 3 October, 2012 The toyman and Fartoniser have waded in on POL Corp Ho, the man who came out with the following: Expansion of Fratton to 30,000 is covered by funding from Tesco to build a supermarket on land adjacent to the ground owned by PFC. Well documented. A new stadium would cost far more (if it ever happens) but it's also been widely reported that if we were to build a new stadium at Horsea then the FA would contribute towards the costs. Who knows if that will ever happen. Cost of redeveloping Fratton has been reported as £22m which sounds about right to me. New stadium builds tend to cost around £2m per seat (ie a 30K stadium would cost around £60m) so an increase in capacity of 10,000 for £22m sounds right. Tesco have been reported as willing to pay around 70% of this cost. That would leave Pompey to find around £6.5. IF (big if) Horsea ever did get the go ahead then you're right, we'd probably get around £10m for the land Fratton stands on. Seems like a decent deal all round. The same Corporate Ho, sorry "Banker" who now constantly claims that the Trust's offer of £2.75M for Fortress Fatpipe is fair and reasonable and Portpin should just accept it? Fisher Price must be so very proud of their idiot employee.
St Chalet Posted 4 October, 2012 Share Posted 4 October, 2012 (edited) Based on Corpy / Bankers maths..... At £2m per seat it would actually cost £60bn to build a 30,000 stadium. rallyboy Posted 4 October, 2012 Share Posted 4 October, 2012 Pity those questions weren't asked when things were going well. Wow, what a bombshell today- the first admission of guilt!!! It’s horrible, morally it isn’t right, I know that. The situation is difficult but I feel like I have been doing that every single week since the season started. - UnAppy. He's only talking about treating players badly, but it's a start. The few are taking his rather old school Spartan attitude to player fitness as proof that they are not cheating by outbidding bigger clubs. They still confuse quantity with quality - it's not the numbers that annoys others, it's the actual class of players you're getting! And I forgot that they got away with the holding company going into admin - so many let-offs, so much criminality swept under the carpet, and still they blame everyone else. What happens next? Portpin are declined a FaPP test pass, a new mysterious consortium emerges from the shadows with exactly the same offer - probably called Pinport or Portpin2012, the people behind it will be unknown businessmen with no connection to Chanrai whatsoever. Sort of. He's going nowhere.
