The talk on POL is about a tweet from someone they seem to think is ITK, that says Chainrai is taking over in the next 24 hours, as TBH does a deal.

Well I say the talk ,but it is always pretty quiet on there .....they only have about 20 members left that are allowed to post!

They're going to Wimbledon?

Isn't that where the Wombles gather up all the damaged crap that nobody wants anymore and try to fob it all off on unsuspecting new owners?

So it's not a match tonight, it's a business meeting.

Great Uncle Trevor Bulgaria is trying to recycle some old sh!t and stitch someone up with OriNewco.

We are not worthy! :toppa:

The FL are being very spineless. There are 11 days to go to the first league game. Poopey have 1 senior player. and as we know they seem to refuse to use anything but senior players. So 11 days to sort out their **** and sign a whole new squad. The FL should turn around to them and demand to know whether they will be in a position to start the season. If they cannot give a definite "yes" (which they can't), then they should drop down to the bottom of the league and let someone else take their place.

What happens if we get to next week, a week before the season starts, and they say they can't fulfil their commitments? Too late to reschedule everything and get another team in to replace them.

They will start with 23 clubs, as I've already said a number of times on this thread. They did that in 1992 when Maidstone and Aldershot went pop within 6 months of each other, and they actually abandoned expanding to 94 clubs (inc the Prem teams) as a result.

They are already at least a month over the line regarding replacing a team in the division, there are all kinds of complications involved, and if they don't take up the golden share OR if they go bust during the season, the division will finish with 23 sides.

Also, I'd be inclined to think the 10th IS the FL's deadline.

Nice to see the question I asked a few tens of pages back about Birch reallocating parachute payments was answered anyway. He can.

Indeed.

So he's had the ability all along to negotiate the compromise agreements with the players and allocate the PPs towards paying them!

He hasn't done this for some reason, so the person responsible for liquidating the club will be him!

You're far too sane to do that

A skate colleague of mine has just sent me the following text:

"Just said on Express FM that the staff at PFC have been told to prepare for the worst and should bring in boxes tomorrow to pack up their personal belongings"

Any nutjob here been listening to their game tonight and heard the same?

On the basis of that post I've just put it on hoping for a repeat statement.

TBH is playing !

Yes, that was said by a journalist on Express FM tonight.

I wouldn't read too much into it; Birch has done all his business through the media and this could just be his latest tactic to put pressure on TBH and Lawrence to sort their deals out.

So if you were an office worker at FP, what do you do tomorrow morning ?

Can't be bothered to go through the full thread but does anyone know whether PST has any contingency plans in place - have they set up a company to operate a new club and applied for provisional membership of any league or would they have to wait until next season if it all goes TU?

They would have to wait for a season. It isn't going to happen though, Chanrai will not let them get liquidated for one player on 30K a week.

From everything I've seen (on this thread) there is no contingency whatsoever, and even if they didn't get the golden share they'd be extremely lucky to get membership of anything above county level at a week's notice before fixtures begin. So that'll be funny, because they'll be angling for a start in the Conference, which took AFC Wimbledon 7 years to get back to, and Newport County AFC 21 years. They'll then have a whole year to badger and pillory and try and bully their way into a league higher than they should be in due to their support, even though they mostly had comparable Prem crowds to Wimbledon.

The point is that if they had any kind of shame they'd have done all this irrespective of the current club's existence. You can't blame them for wanting to cling onto the highest level they can in the state they're in, I suppose. It's not like any of their other decisions have been based on anything other than self interest, after all.

Newport County got liquidated for a £400k debt with a player who was transferred for £2m within 3 years on their books... I'm hopeful the Portsmouth saga will conclude after at least ONE "lock-out" of the ground, it's not a liquidation without one of those when the council buys the ground and they don't pay the rent - but I'm impatient, I don't wait to wait the 6 months it'll take that to happen with the current proposals.

Difference is Chanrai is prepared to pay a little to get a lot back.

No, come on, don't be lazy. Start at the start and read the full thread. The answers are all in there, you just have to look.

Why would that be a year long loan if he only has a year left to run on his contract ?

The implication to me is that the Skates would still have to pay some of his wages otherwise he might just as well be sold directly !

As always, I smell something very fishy going on down there !!

Tal Ben Haim going out on loan could potentially save the club from liquidation, if a loan really was close why did they risk him getting injured and scuppering any deal by playing him tonight vs AFC Wimbledon?

http://www.portsmouthfc.co.uk/LatestNews/news/Appy-Waiting-And-Hoping-3583.aspx

Like everyone connected with Pompey, manager Michael Appleton is waiting and hoping.

The future of the club remains in the balance with Friday’s deadline looming for a deal to be done to prevent liquidation.

Appleton and his band of trialists will report for training in Eastlegh on Friday hoping to hear the news that the club is safe.

They have been ultra-professional throughout the club’s heightening crisis – epitomised by another polished pre-season performance at AFC Wimbledon on Tuesday night.

Eight of the starting line-up are on trial and two are unlikely to be around if Pompey survive.

But once again they combined slickly in a 2-0 win that made it three straight pre-season wins without a goal conceded.

A noisy band of around 800 Pompey fans saw first half goals by Luke Rodgers and Liam Walker see off AFC Wimbledon at the Cherry Red Records Stadium.

There is less than a week to the club’s opening game of the season in the Capital One Cup at Plymouth.

But first comes Friday.

Appleton said: “We still need to come to an agreement with Tal Ben Haim and Liam Lawrence, while discussions between the administrators and potential owners are going on as we speak.

“The lads are back into training on Friday and hopefully by then everyone will be in a happier frame of mind, knowing the club is secure.

“I’m just doing my job and getting on with the football side of things. I can’t affect anything that goes on between the administrator, Portpin and the Supporters Trust.

“That’s why I’ve not thought too much about would could happen. I’ll wait to see what happens over the next 24 hours or so.”

If Pompey survive then the first job for Appleton is to sign a whole team of players.

He said: “We’ve got a league cup tie in a few days time and we will need to get some serious transfer business done before then.

“And if that happens we’re going to need a lot of luck over the next five or six weeks. It will probably be the least prepared any side will have been for a league campaign.

But hopefully we can get through it and be competitive next season.

Given the FLs stipulations will he really get 'a lot back' though.

The scenario is he buys the club, runs the club on a tight budget, sets up a holding company for the ground and syphons off money that way. Much will depend on how much of the PPs are available to him. If he gets most of his money back in two years he can sell the club to the Trust and rent the ground with a nice annual income.

PST wasted time and money with the "pay for a pal" scheme and pack the park, just propping up their rival. The £1000 pledge is weak. They could have raised more with a life time season ticket ( but with a cap on the ticket value i.e. not inflation or promotion proof and maybe a 10 year limit)

They should be brokering a deal with the big earners to go only if the PST take control and shut BC out. I still can't see PCC loaning them the money and I can't see the FL giving PCC first charge on he parachute payments (before football creditors?)

Oh well....... Tick Tock. 42 hours?

Remember the 1st meeting TB ever had with afew supporters in the bar after he took over from AA?

The most important questio he asked of the fans that night was ' Would you rather have Chanrai again or start all over from scratch'?

I seem to recall that the overwhelming vote from the fans was for the second option - lets hope he keeps that in mind over the next 24 hours

It would be nice to think, should Chinny indeed bottle it, that the mutual recriminations will include that aspect :)
