Pompey Takeover Saga

Fitzhugh Fella

They will have printed it like that on purpose as (a) to get a sympathy vote from 'the nation' and (b) to send a shot across the Football League's bows to say "look, if you don't let us sign more players we can't afford soon YOUR league is going to be a laughing stock. "

In other words, they want people to laugh at them as an attention seeking ploy.

Cue the Football League taking pity on them next week. A smart move by Pompey in the knowledge the FL will roll over like a puppy.

Bolton must be really $h1t to lose 3-0 to a team of trialist.

"Tony Blair will not take up a formal post with Labour despite his return to frontline British politics as a sports adviser to Ed Miliband."

I wonder if he has been reading all about pimpey on here and how they operate and picked up some tips ?

Let me guess - all of a sudden friendly results are in fact really important

He said he "hopes The Trust or Portpin can give him the finances he needs to make the team competitive so they don't become a laughing stock"...

Another lap of the vicious Pompey circle beckons...

Sigh.

I think Tal Ben Haim has placed his faith in the PFA.

He will get his money, and the Skates will finally die.

It appears he's calling Chinny's bluff. TBH appears to be the only one to realise Chinny isn't going to walk away from the parachute payments, especially as he (TBH) is the last of the magnificent 8 standing.

Or maybe it's just because TBH has more to lose than the 6 mugs who compromised.

Let's see who cracks first in this Mexican standoff.

Of course, if holds out, he is going to incur the wrath of the phew, as Trevor whips up their hatred toward him to a total frenzy. But I have a feeling he can handle that. For a few million pounds I think I could too. :D

A few million £ would certainly do wonders for my self esteem, maybe other people are different though :)

Three years ago, Southampton were also newly relegated to League One, in administration and facing a points deduction."

More like eels than skates that lot.

Too much value in the PP for them to disappear.

I'm still convinced that BC will take them over, run them on a shoestring & then toss PST the carcass once he's sucked as much money out as he can & rent FP to them after moving it over to another company.

I know a PST committee member who expects that to happen as well.

It'll be fun watching it unfold in the next few days. The handwringing, the threadbare squad, those plucky phew, those happy phew, those band of closely-related phew* ... repeat ad nauseum

Thats roughly how I see it. BC will only put in the absolute bare minimum - whether he throws the PST the carcass is the bit that's open to debate.

I heard a bit on the news last night in the other room and at first I thought it was the Olympic stadium cheering Ennis through her 800m, but after reading the match report I realise that it was in fact the noise of the amazing 4,500 fans at fortress fatpipe.

Now, one expects poor gates for a pointless friendly....BUT to big-up a handful of people knocking around a crumbling stadium as the most passionate etc is both desperate and deluded in the extreme.

We too have low gates for hollow friendlies - but no one spins it to fool dim people.

Anyway, if we pretend Kanu's legal claim doesn't exist, it looks like it all boils down to Ben Haim, the man abused by his own fans at Aldershot, just to assist the negotiating process...

Complicated scenario warning - AA has to accept on the player's behalf that his wages will be paid to pompey in full via PPs over the next two years, but pompey want to keep those wages, to give AA's other client.....

Likely press statement by midweek?

Ben Haim does a deal, and is welcomed back to hero status.

In reality?

Birch offers him money that Tal will NEVER get.

Birch won't be there when it is due and doesn't give a flying fatpipe whether these current brokered deals are honoured or not - he might as well be getting them to agree to lease light industrial units on the moon.

There you go mate, £2M to be paid sometime, later, with a vague date...sign there.

Result -

Birch is a hero, the football creditor rules are bent over further than Avram's housemaid, all former plucky bestest players are heroes, the few claim victory, ticker tape parade, bus tour, the glory continues, coaching genius UnAppy's battling troops take on the world as he unveils his hot targets and delves into a hefty promotion warchest.

Much chest-thumping, lots of tiresome spin, the Trust waits in the wings with its tenner.......final PP payments and next administration looms on the horizon.

I tend to agree on the prospect of further, multiple / CVAs. MK3 (4) will be along quicker than Avram could pull his trousers up in a Horton Heath 'Hotel'. MK4 (5) before 2014?

Tal Ben Haim has indicated he hopes to have some news on his Portsmouth future next week

Having ridden it out to the end, there may be a few spare quids down the back of the sofa to make him go quietly. Kanu is possibly more of a problem as he truly has nothing to lose, as a retired great-grandfather back in his native country.

Sadly I now think they will survive, and our over-optimism may come back to haunt us. What troubles me is that their bunch of 'no-hoper' triallists have actually won both their games and it gives the club some momentum to go into the season, including persuading better players to join them.

I think Howard is the tester - he said publicly that he would like to stay in the south and has settled his kids in school etc in Hampshire - BUT money talks. If he walks away from Championship offers to join the DCFSBs it can only because their offer is at least close to the other offers and it will signal a new 'quality over quantity' campaign. If he goes elsewhere it might just suggest that they are offering him a wage they can actually afford to pay.

As ever an interesting week ahead

I'm not sure that the PST proposal allows for BC getting his hands on the club first.

How much meat do you think he will leave on the carcuss?

As soon as the PPs are paid, & he's run the club on a paupers crust, he'll simply move FP into a separate holding company & then make a gift to PST of "newnweco" whilst charging them rent of FP.

Don't forget about Lawrence. It's all been very quiet all along for him.

The unlikely hero for us nutjobs might be across the sea...who knows?

The rumour was that they were trying to sort a deal where by they would extend his contract but at a lower monthly rate so overall he would get the same. But didn't they do that with Kanu previously & that worked well didn't it? Plus LL is on £19k pw so unless he signs a six year contract then they're still overpaying him...

... unless he continues working in the ticket office of course!

Well, unfortunately a busy life has deprived me of the chance to stay completely up to date with events down on the Isle of Skates at Fortress Fatpipes, as much as I would have liked. I keep coming back to catch up, but I always seem to be about ten pages behind.

Still, after a couple of days off, I'm all up to date now, and just want to add my thanks to the 'usual suspects' for endless pages of comedy gold. And to all our regular PST comic genius's too, for ripping the p!ss out of them for it; and catering for our daily entertainment! ;)

Our roving reporter has been down to the Rust Bowl in disguise, to take a look at just how bad the situation is, :suspicious:

and has reported back with these classified images:

UzryYl.jpg

FGKCQl.jpg

Hmmm, well, that doesn't look too healthy, does it?!

So, how does this fatty situation affect the quality of what passes through the clogged Fratton waterways?

E8WqHl.jpg

Ahh, I see.

So, who wants a nice refreshing glass of Fratton Water???

DBuSFl.jpg

NO???

Don't worry, such wonderful "world renowned" support as the skates enjoy, aren't subject to such poor standards of quantity over quality.

That's just for the away fans.

The "bestest fans in the world eva!!!111" get theirs purified first!

FNZnOl.jpg

Mmmm, that looks delicious!

So, as our fishy friends continue to struggle on valiantly, with all these nasty creditors having the audacity to keep pestering them for their 0.4p in the pound, and those outrageous devils the players, those former loyal "heroes" turned disgraceful villians actually having the temerity of wanting to be paid for the privilage of representing such a fine and respectable club as p*rtsmouth, and the spectre of that evil dastardly Mr. Chinny looming large, as dear old Trevor threatening hovers over the 'liquidate' button...

the only other fitting thing of note to add in summation, would be:

The gossip from the blue side is that Lawrence is staying to play for them next season :scared: :scared:

I tried to dig a little deeper and from what I could work out the source is his other half (Now of course the bloke that told me could just be pulling my chain)

Have to say I am a little confused.
