holepuncture Posted 5 July, 2012 Share Posted 5 July, 2012 I can't work out if this Neil Allen chap has genuinely got his head in the sand and truely doesn't know how ridiculous stories about employing a recruitment manager sound, or whether he privately does know how daft things are on Planet Pompey but is under strict orders from his newspaper's management to humour Pompey fans to preserve circulation figures etc. He clearly reads this thread too, we normally expose the latest bout of shameful behaviour down the the arena and then a couple of hours later Allen has popped up with a nice load of spin and nonsense about faithful, heroes, loyal etc. Its very amusing, particularly the A-O-C articles (many of them), but in a roundabout way perhaps it is us nutjobs that are boosting the news' figures. Great entertainment, a little side piece to our 'mega thread' on here. ps: Hi Neil you mug, whens the next webchat? Its been a while since I posted this, but please take a look at one of my very favourite pictures below and please explain to me what on earth do the trust think they are doing?! Absolutely no chance! Shalala
Lord Duckhunter Posted 5 July, 2012 Share Posted 5 July, 2012 ‘Michael’s phone doesn’t stop ringing. I wouldn't be surprised if they do what a friend of my son's family do. Because they're so tight, they call our number and hang up before we answer. My boy then does 1471 and then 3 for ring back, and we end up paying for the call..... Well Appleton has had to personally supply the bog rolls at the training ground for quite some time now, no wonder he loves his job and is so committed to stay *****il he gets a management offer and he'll be off faster than Avram can say "you can take our spirit"). I believe the players have to bring packed lunches too, and LL has to run the ticket office after training. The groundmans equipment has been siezed for non-payment of something, maybe they bring their own tools to work now... and the finest for me, pompey sending tickets to their supporters (fratton faithfull etc) without postage so the plucky skates have to cough up for the stamps... thats after the £2 administration fee which was supposed to go to charity but went straight into lampits rocket! Wes Tender Posted 5 July, 2012 Share Posted 5 July, 2012 Read a headline on News Now that suggested that "Westwood could join coaching team". dubai_phil Posted 5 July, 2012 Share Posted 5 July, 2012 What a disasterous day for PTS thread. I am GUTTED at the news. Our local Satellite just advertised their big movie for tonight. Toast Starring Helena Bonham Carter (who has an extremely tenuous link to this thread) It appears that the BBC made a Film that made it across to Hollywood. http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/toast_2011/ Yep, there goes another source of potential funds for our takeover of pcfc. Somebody else already made a movie called Toast. (Oh the Helena link? It was a Merchant Ivory Gay Porn Historic movie thing starring yours truly alongside Hugh Grant. Oh alright it actually recruited most of the local Cricket Clubs around Salisbury to take part as extras and we got paid 15 quid. Helena helped out with the 150 of us in one scene in a courtroom and cut some people's hair (her college pocket money job) One dumb git didn't actually recognise her and tried to chat her up. Ho hum, she could so nearly have been PMDP (past Mrs D_P) Yeah right. But the 15 quid was handy. (There you go D_P in I was in a Gay movie shock revelation. Sure that will cheer a few up. You can still find it in the remainder bins along with most of Old Sarum Tuesday Night Cricket Leagues players - Maurice) (Oh but you only see me in the Wide Screen version luckily)

FloridaMarlin Posted 5 July, 2012 Share Posted 5 July, 2012 It's an insult to King Edward's School to describe the (former) training ground as "shabby." It's actually very nicely kept up together. And, of course, throughout that piece there's a name missing. Who was the manager who 'chased the dream' and brought all those highly-paid players in, laying the foundations for their current mess? Once again, Saggy Chops' media buddies keep his name out and try and ensure distance between him and any unpalatable stories.
