Totally shameful

Wasnt it the demented Toy Salesman who consistently argued that all the smaller creditors and charities had been paid?

Scally, thanks for posting but I have had to remove as there will be potential copywrite cutting and pasting the whole article.

Yeah, but c.100% of the information in that article has already appeared on this thread.... ;-)

At long last... The nationals are taking an interest!!

And rather well too. It also brings to mind why parachute payments exist in the first place - largely to cushion clubs against the otherwise crippling effects of premier league wages in the lower leagues. So when PFC administrators resort to exerting public pressure on players to walk away from contracts intended to be underwritten by the parachute-payment system, it beggars belief that the football authorities and the PFA allow this to go on without even the hint of a reprimand.

@pn_neil_allen: Original Telegraph article on #Pompey appears to have been pulled. Conspiracy theories abound! Try this instead http://t.co/3RA1F4rf

"The absence of the statutory annual report and accounts, coupled with the fact that Portpin is registered in the secrecy jurisdiction of the British Virgin Islands, have made transparency impossible to achieve."

Wouldn't surprise me at all if Portpin was part owned by Gaydamak.

No plucky Pompey, no bestest fans, no pack the park - all of that usual bullsh*t was mercifully left out of that article. Nice read!

Article doesn't say about the cheating regarding players they've signed they could never afford, especially the ones since 1st admin... Huseklepp, Varney, Lawrence, Kitson, Norris, the approx 100k a week wages added by these players. As has been said in Scotland with Club 12, sporting sanctions, throw them out...

I missed the original article, what is now different?

I didn't see the original but they put it down to a 'technical fault' with the website according to later tweets.

Meanwhile, I see you've annoyed Mr Allen again....

@pn_neil_allen: @MatthewLeGod Yep. Bored of your obsession now. Consistently and embarrassingly ill-informed. Goodbye!

:-))

He has the cheek to call me "embarrassingly ill-informed" and churns out nonsense stories every day in the paper. I've read every post on this thread, I'm about as informed on this subject as you can get! ;) :D

I don't think that the PL are that stupid and can and will hold it back, diverting what is owed to the appropriate people.

Don't underestimate the PL.

short of some form of oldco into newco thing where their contracts are no longer valid, but the newco somehow retains its golden share, I don't see what can be done. They ain't walking, so someone is going to have to pay them at some point.

Paying them is one option. But there are alternatives.

So the quote from the taxi firm owner that they lied to him was removed, and the section at the end about the PST bid was added.

You get the impression there's a LOT of bad feeling directed at PFC by local small-business creditors (and creditors with now busted businesses) in particular - the very same ones, unfortunately, who are deeply reluctant to go public for fear of provoking a backlash from some not-too-bright fans. PFC and the administrators could be seen to be silently condoning this threat precisely because it suits them to keep those with such legitimate grievances quiet. So the local small-business and charity creditors are victims twice over (not to mention being third-time losers with the impending 'CVA').

But once the floodgates open...

The lieing is difficult to prove, which is probably why it was removed. No doubt about the debt though!

I'm sure when I lived in the area Aqua Cars made me pay cash in advance on club runs! Normally taxi drivers have their ear to the ground, but to allow the cheats to go 6 months without paying in the circumstances was a bit stupid.

I'd be interested to know how they built up the debt 2nd time round. Hope no small creditors got caught again; anybody know?

Think TB missed a money earning trick this weekend. Shouldda let the poor festival goers park up on the pitch for 50 quid a pop and shuttled them down to the IOW ferries

Well the club did let people camp on the pitch. How about a concert to Pack The Park and put a few more quid in TBH's pocket? SkateAid?

just been trying to explain to a skate for the zillionth time how our administration was not exactly the same as theirs....he reckons both clubs should have folded and we left just as many creditors.

Apparently they will pass us shortly anyway - when we overspend and get relegated while they triumphantly rebuild. :o

There's nowt as dim as the stupid, what can you do?

You can lead a seedy old pervert to Horton Heath but you can't make him send the boys out on manoeuvres.

no point in discussing much at all with them.

It's all tank commanders and dock strikes.

The more b0ll0x I hear the less sympathetic I am.

And I wasn't that sympathetic to start with!

I'm through with trying to give maths lessons to dentally-challenged people who think that all houses have jockey wheels.

I think that Bompey fans are going to be fuming if Pompey get treated more leniently than they were when they were in a similar position. The Football League were incredibly harsh about not letting them sign players and their goal keeping coach had to come out of retirement to sit on the bench. They frequently couldn't fill their bench and had to use youth team players to fill up the first 11.

Their first friendly is in 3 weeks. There is a 4 week period for the high earners to leave, starting on Monday. I can't see the Football League allowing them to sign any players until the ownership problem is resolved and a substantial number of the leeches out of the door. That friendly could be a fiasco and I'm betting on a Hawks win against a makeshift youth team. The tour to Gibraltar is before the end of the 4 weeks as well. Fun, fun, fun.

True...and winning an argument against a skate journalist is, almost literally, like shooting fish in a barrel!

"Almost literally," hmmm, interesting. So you put the skate journalist in the barrel and shoot him, and then you've won the argument or what?
