stev2001 Posted 28 April, 2012 Posted 28 April, 2012 By selling Pearce and Halford, does that mean they last longer than 2nd June?
stev2001 Posted 28 April, 2012 Posted 28 April, 2012 By selling Pearce and Halford, does that mean they last longer than 2nd June? I hope so, then they sell all their assets to keep themselves alive. Finally they will own nothing and still have huge debt, then liquidation.
pedg Posted 28 April, 2012 Posted 28 April, 2012 By selling Pearce and Halford, does that mean they last longer than 2nd June? The only way they will last past the 2nd of June if is someone buys them. Selling a couple of players is not going to allow them to stand up at the meeting and promise they will be able to for-fill their fixtures for next year.
eurosaint Posted 28 April, 2012 Posted 28 April, 2012 Dream scenario for me now is that they flog everyone, Chinny comes back to strip the carcass, they get a 17 point deduction and go down to league 2 ! Liquidation would mean the end of this thread and leave us nobody to take the p.iss out of ! Maybe I'm being too kind Though !
Gorgiesaint Posted 28 April, 2012 Posted 28 April, 2012 Does Chinny have the time to strip the carcass? Henderson's already gone, deals agreed for Halford and Pearce already. Who exactly is going to be left by the time Chinny gets round to owning the club - other than Kanu as he can't run away as quickly as the others? Seems more like TB is striping the assets before liquidation...

Seems more like TB is striping the assets before liquidation... Exactly. Chinney is a bit of annoyance to TB. So sell as much as possible and come June 2nd admit to the FL that you can't complete next years fixtures. The golden share is then withdrawn and Chinney can 'not let the club go into liquidation', but there'll be nothing left for him to asset strip. Might even be that the Prem and FL retain the parachute payments against football debt and Chinney gets the ground and sweet f*ck all else.

Selling a couple of players is not going to allow them to stand up at the meeting and promise they will be able to for-fill their fixtures for next year. I seem to remember they have told lies to a Court, so why won't they tell lies to the FL? .
Crazy Diamond Posted 28 April, 2012 Posted 28 April, 2012 So where's Corp then? Being a ho, I imagine. Has to do something to pay the bills.
hypochondriac Posted 28 April, 2012 Posted 28 April, 2012 So where's Corp then? Ran away in a huff. Still keeps tabs on us though (he is banker on POL)
Chez Posted 28 April, 2012 Posted 28 April, 2012 let me guess, he and they are trying convince themselves that their two draws with us (that sent them down) stopped us winning the title, when in fact it actually took us up. Very, very bad day at the eastern end of the M27. Normal service has resumed. Saints in the top flight, Pompey in the lower leagues and the skates showing their true bitterness once more.
Jimmy_D Posted 28 April, 2012 Posted 28 April, 2012 This is better than normal service for me. I've never known us two leagues above them before.
Hockey_saint Posted 28 April, 2012 Posted 28 April, 2012 Just been twittering and I thought I'd have a look at how tfcwtb Westwood is managing to cry into his beer when, surprise surprise, his account has been suspended BONUS!

Dark Munster Posted 29 April, 2012 Posted 29 April, 2012 I wonder how much West Ham still have to pay for Henderson? Must say his playing stats for West Ham are quite impressive: West Ham

Apps As sub Goals Yellow Red

Total (Club) 0 (0) 0 0 0

League 0 (0) 0 0 0

FA Cup 0 (0) 0 0 0

League Cup 0 (0) 0 0 0

European/Others 0 (0) 0 0 0

Yes but it saved them losing 6 valuable points. So instead of finishing 3rd on 86 points they would only have finished 3rd on 80 points. £700000 well spent, I would say.
um pahars Posted 29 April, 2012 Posted 29 April, 2012 The only creditors to lose money were Aviva, a global behemoth of a company based in...Norwich! Who will now be paid a large figure as a result of promotion to the top flight, as the original deal had repayment of the outstanding debt becoming crystallised if we went up to the top flight.
Torres Posted 29 April, 2012 Posted 29 April, 2012 Oh really, UP? Never heard that before. Interesting. Do you know how much is to be repaid and therefore how much of a haircut Aviva took, if any?
St Chalet Posted 29 April, 2012 Posted 29 April, 2012 So in the end everyone gets paid back by Saints, whilst that scummy pikey bunch of ****s down the road leave others £130m in the lurch.
eurosaint Posted 29 April, 2012 Posted 29 April, 2012 So in the end everyone gets paid back by Saints, whilst that scummy pikey bunch of ****s down the road leave others £130m in the lurch. That was last time, now you have to add a further £58 million on top !! (TBF there may be a bit of an overlap but for sure it is more than £130 million!)
trousers Posted 29 April, 2012 Posted 29 April, 2012 Who will now be paid a large figure as a result of promotion to the top flight, as the original deal had repayment of the outstanding debt becoming crystallised if we went up to the top flight. Interesting. Didn't realise that. Fair play though. Shows our willingness to pay our relatively small debts as opposed to avoiding them like the plague.

Where did you hear this? I never saw anything of the like reported during or after the takeover process. We were led to believe that Markus paid a lump sum of cash, reportedly about £13m, to buy out all debts and take control of the club.

We were led to believe that Markus paid a lump sum of cash, reportedly about £13m, to buy out all debts and take control of the club. That's what I understood as well, with Aviva writing off the remaining debt as they had already received most of what they originally loaned in interest payments anyway.

I suspect the cheque was posted testerday.
Truckasaurus Posted 29 April, 2012 Posted 29 April, 2012 Normal sevice has been resumed All thats left now is liquidation to take it's course over on the dark side. (i'm still pinching myself) What a glorious day ! God bless HMRC.

Correct Sir = 4 million fat ones winging it's way to Aviva
Kingsland Red Posted 29 April, 2012 Posted 29 April, 2012 The big difference, and something I begrudgingly respect Lowe for is that the debt was to a monolith - Aviva and not vast numbers of local businesses. Down the road the debt includes local businesses and charities that would be the support on the 'terraces' - ie. biting the hand that feeds.
Pugwash Posted 29 April, 2012 Posted 29 April, 2012 Correct Sir = 4 million fat ones winging it's way to Aviva Ah, yes, but the skates are going to pay back an extra 5p in the pound on their debt, as part of the CVA, when they get re-promoted! Oh...
Crab Lungs Posted 29 April, 2012 Posted 29 April, 2012 (edited) Ladies and Gents, you're going to enjoy this picture immensely; (keep scrolling, it's worth it) (a little excerpt from PO) That says what a lot about the group of players we had here, They get PFC and the fans. As a group of fans we are unique who else would sing about their chairman (in a possitive way) who would sing louder than the home fans after going a goal down? You cant buy that support and I bet evry chairman, manager and player wish their fans were half as good as ours. (keep going) ROFLPMSLLOLCOPTERS Edited 29 April, 2012 by Crab Lungs

Elmore Posted 29 April, 2012 Posted 29 April, 2012 With all the evidence to the contrary, the really do believe they are the worlds best fans don't they? Almost feel a bit sorry for them. They really need to get some perspective.
pedg Posted 29 April, 2012 Posted 29 April, 2012 Such a pity they did not leave quite enough room to put Bestest

They really need to get some perspective. Well, they need to try and perpetuate the quality over quantity ethos somehow don't they! As a thought, has justice now been done thanks to the tables being well and truly turned on them?
EastleighSoulBoy Posted 29 April, 2012 Posted 29 April, 2012 I guarantee every other club's fans would be fcking embarrassed if a few put up a banner declaring themselves the world's best fans. It's like the ugly fcker in a pub wearing a 'hot and sexy' tshirt. But the bloke in the pub doesn't believe his own hype!
hypochondriac Posted 29 April, 2012 Posted 29 April, 2012 I think the banner was done by the Pompey players themselves (apparently)
Thedelldays Posted 29 April, 2012 Posted 29 April, 2012 jesus christ....they really think their support is something amazing.
Thedelldays Posted 29 April, 2012 Posted 29 April, 2012 can corp ho give us their "transfer target" updates during the summer.... I miss those posts
View From The Top Posted 29 April, 2012 Posted 29 April, 2012 jesus christ....they really think their support is something amazing. TBF, they are thick as fu ck.
rallyboy Posted 29 April, 2012 Posted 29 April, 2012 they really picked the wrong day to get on the pitch for a show of strength! As we both exit the division in different directions, us to try and consolidate a future at the top table, them to try and find enough money to complete the week, perhaps a ceasefire could be called? Even I feel a bit guilty about ripping into them this weekend, it would be cruel, like punching a blind tramp - dignity is a fine trait in a victor. That said....I still see rubbish being spouted... I might respect a ceasefire on the more acidic posts, all those gags about stadiums with jockey wheels, sister-bothering, money-laundering, extra digits, prostitutes, undersea fantasy worlds, Riquelme etc. I might, if I didn't keep on seeing bizarre self-promotion about the best fans in the world and the following.... Lawrence was going to fire Cardiff above us and feck our season. Henderson joined the 'champions' West Ham. Huskellop was going to launch Birmingham's challenge to knock us off our perch. Norris scored the goal that would deny us promotion. Hilariously, ALL of this turned out to be the usual deluded b0ll0x!! So I'm considering a fragile ceasefire.....which could collapse with the first mention of a mythical dock strike. And to the eternal question.... Their nearest rivals were 50 places below them not long ago, they have now been promoted as pompey have been relegated. The scummers even had six points they didn't need and gave them to Bristol City. The rivals are off to The Emirates and Old Trafford, pompey might not even make it to play Crawley Town. Their last game even featured ex-Saint Dexter sending them on their way to the backwaters, the last ten months could barely have been worse for them. So, have they got away with it? They can put on a brave and cross-eyed face, but looking at the facts of their nightmare season, I think the answer must be a resounding NO. Justice is finally being served.
Truckasaurus Posted 29 April, 2012 Posted 29 April, 2012 Maybe a few more points deduction. (Or liquidation to put the iceing on the cake) God bless HMRC.
Matthew Le God Posted 29 April, 2012 Posted 29 April, 2012 Celtic today put a little more effort into rubbing it in to their rivals than we did at St Mary's... Neil Lennon, Taxman, Death, Craig Whyte

ringwood Posted 29 April, 2012 Posted 29 April, 2012 Taxman, well we'd have more hope if it was Peter Griffin!
Colinjb Posted 29 April, 2012 Posted 29 April, 2012 Celtic today put a little more effort into rubbing it in to their rivals than we did at St Mary's... Neil Lennon, Taxman, Death, Craig Whyte Oh I would have been fuming if I was sitting behind that!
Sheaf Saint Posted 29 April, 2012 Posted 29 April, 2012 So, have they got away with it? In the truest sense, yes they have. The paltry punishments they have received from the football authorities do not fit for the crimes. It's like giving a murderer community service because although everybody knows he desereves more, it's all the regulations will allow. Legally the punishment is applicable, but morally? Not even close. However, lets just consider the best case scenario for them: that they manage to make it through the summer without being liquidated and start the season in L1 on zero points. All of the senior players will have left meaning they will be starting with a makeshift squad of youth players, free transfers and loanees, and that really worked out well for them this season didn't it. They will struggle and may even be looking at consecutive relegations. It's obvious that whatever happens the creditors are never going to see what they are owed, so if this is what the future holds for them I will be satisfied that justice has been served.
aintforever Posted 29 April, 2012 Posted 29 April, 2012 The way I see it there is now only two likely outcomes. 1. Liquidation 2. Chanrai takes ownership again Either way they are f*cked. If Chanrai buys them he wont invest a penny and will just keep them alive long enough to get what's left of the parachutes. The few will no doubt boycott, there will probably be another points penalty so another relegation will very much be a possibility. Liquidation could be a better option long term.
