Pompey Takeover Saga

Nah, not really, your gimps in fancy dress just took advantage to cry in front of the Sky cameras about how hard-done-by-plucky-little-p*mpey have been mistreated by the world. Despite a good result there you could only muster a few hundred for your next away trip. But then again there was no TV cameras for the "bestest" was there.

Maybe. You were top of the league though so does sort of help.

What did the Donny cheif have to say about your support. Can you link me to the article?

In fact what has anyone independant, ever had to say about your support?

Quality not quantity.

800. Thats roughly how many we took to Hartlepool. On a tuesday night.

Run along now...

If its quality, not quantity, then this lady is better than any Skate fan, as voted for by ''influential and respected representatives from the media, sponsors and The Football League, alongside industry experts for the various categories''.

Better quality in one person than 800 inbreds. Now lets stop the willy-waving and get back to the Titanic-esque sinking of the Good Ship Fratton.

FFS....will someone tell Miss Money Penny that she surely has better things to do with her time and tax payer's money than to sort out the finances of a private company?

That's her job. Anything that affects her constituents is her business. Makes no difference whether it's a private company or not...

Shame she wasn't as vociferous about the arrival of several dubious owners over the last 5 years....or maybe highlighting that Pompey were buying trophies wasn't such a big a vote winner back then....

Sigh

Back to back wins for Pompey keeping them just about in it.

Bristol City have Barnsley at home next who are already safe and even as a neutral you'd have to fancy Bristol City. Unbeaten in 6, and drawing against Brum away and West Ham at home in the last week so their in good form.

For Pompey I think the phrase "it's the hope that kills them" is going to become very relevant once more on Saturday ;)

So Bristol City need 2 points from 2 matches to send the Cheats down (that's if they win their last two matches).

And Saints need 2 points from 2 matches to condemn WHam to the playoffs (that's if they win their last two matches).

I like the symmetry. :)

I see the phew are celebrating keeping their survival hopes alive, though. That's sad really, because it is the hope that kills you. And if they miss survival by one or two points, and we go up by the same margin, it will hurt even more to know that if they'd won at SMS they would have escaped relegation, as well as prevented our automatic promotion. Their only crumb of comfort would be that relegation isn't as bad as liquidation.

Oh.

Since counting beyond 4 is beyond most of them, it probably won't dawn on them that, by going down by a margin of less than 10 points, the point penalty will have actually punished them this time.

But at least a few years from now they can tell their great great great grandkids about the famous point their late club managed to scrape against the thriving PL club which those kids support.

I vomited after a couple of lines when he went on about deductions being wretchedly unfair on the fans. F\/ck off is my response to him. How about the wretched unfairness of being beaten by players that the fans sang about yet couldn't afford.

What a tosser

Being picky, but I think we could go up on GD with just 1 point ??

A Pompey fan phoned TalkSport last night and the presenter (Andy Goldstein??) told him that at least they've got the comfort of knowing that if they do go down it wasn't due to their performances on the pitch but it was due to their dodgy owner(s).

Erm....interesting logic....and there was me thinking that they only had a half decent side BECAUSE of their "dodgy" owners....

Alas, there will always be mentally challenged people who just don't quite get it...

Oh dear, another great plan goes down the toilet,

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/newsbysector/retailandconsumer/9210707/Tesco-unveils-1bn-revamp-plan-after-drop-in-UK-profits.html

Tesco will invest £1bn in improving its stores, after it announced marginally better results than expected but admitted it would drastically scale back its expansion in Britain after poor sales.

PCFC. The Space Shuttle of Football Clubs.

Bloated, stupidly expensive, had a couple of moments, but now destined for the scrap heap with some trinkets left in Museums.

At least the Shuttle went out with some class though

More likely they will burn up whilst attempting to reenter league 1.

Paxman ripped her to shreds the other day on Newsnight. She was made to look very second rate. Very good at quoting slogans and mouthing off but incapable of any sort of logical, reasoned defence of her views. Rather silly and slightly thick to be honest.

Mind you. She is probably an intellectual in portsmouth.

Yes, but would be pretty tricky. With one draw and therefore one loss, our goal difference would go down by at least one (from the defeat) so West Ham would have to win both by only 2-nil each to better us, because by then they'd have equalled our gd but scored more goals, so would go up instead. If we lost one game 3-nil and drew the other, then west ham would just have to win both by any score.

That 6-nil win of West Ham's against gutless Brighton really hit us.

So in reality we need 1 win or 2 draws.

Quite easy to achieve

I would go along with that

If we can't scrape out a win v Coventry, there's something wrong somewhere

I still reckon Brighton's 0-6 v WHU was deliberate by Poyet

He has long since said that Brighton are not ready for the Prem yet

Nigel deserves a smack bottom allowing Bristol City 6 points this season :)

No ... IMHO If it means that Brizzle escape at the expense of Skatemouth, he deserves a medal

Which will give rise to another 'portsMYTH' that we gave brizzle the points to ensure the sk8s went down.

I would just love that! :smug:

We would be up by now if Pompey had gone bust like they should have done.

But when we do (hopefully, etc) go up it will allow us to have a good laugh at West Ham for effectively paying for them to continue but not getting automatic promotion for it.
