Pompey Takeover Saga

I wonder if now the 'age' thing has come to light (Kanu is actually 42 - is that for real?), can they cancel his contract which would have been signed under false pretences / false information?

Not even the Skates would be stupid enough to give a long contract taking an outfield player up to their 43rd birthday...... would they?

I don't think there is any proof. It is I think quite likely but without any proof I don't think they could do much.

You can work out someone age by doing an MRI scan on their wrist.

I thought that was only for under a certain age when certain bones had not fully fused or such like. I know it had been suggested as a test of age for U21 etc matches but I doubt it would be able to definitively distinguish which of the many ages for Kanu is the correct one.

I guess though its one thing to have someone knock up a fake certificate but another to completely falsify your whole history. I would expect if someone went to Nigeria and try to cross reference all the official documents relating to him, including things like school records etc, they might be able to find the right answer but who would bother? Can you see Birch justifying the cost of getting a private investigator to chase these things in case the rumour is true?

The way I see it, if no one else comes in and someone offers peanuts say 3million then the creditors agree (or not) then the club and its assets are yours? THey can literally turn £50million of debt in to 5 million or 3 to use my example. CRAZY just CRAZY.

BUt the achilles heal that they can't shift is all the players on big contracts. They're ageing players, with little transfer market value, and on salaries that they won't get elsewhere. What's the incentive for them to move? Sure, they may move because they want to play at a higher level, but they'll want their contracts paid up.

Buying the club for £3 or £4 million is one thing, but funding £21m a year in wages is quite something else.Even if they manage to halve that (I can't see how), £10m+ is monstrous for L1.

Maybe those derby day heros will rip up their contracts and move on. The irony of the 'heros' being the ones to liquidate the club will be totally lost on the fans.

I don't know why they don't agree 0.5p in the pound on CVA2 and just get on with selling the club for 5mill or so. They can then spunk that money on loanee salaries, **** paying every other ongoing supplier, ignore paying CVA2 and start work on a promotion campaign, the next admin and CVA3. All this ****ing about wastes everyones time.

Quite damning really.

Personally I think there are many, many more people than those just associated with PCF who are simply sticking two fingers up at everybody who questions this whole sorry mess.

From what I gather today - we have a business that has seen fit to twice enter administration, run up debts of nearly 200 million pounds - but are happy (as appears are the administrators) to simply 'right off' the debt and carry on as normal.

And I was worried about my poxy mortgage.

That is the irony

Try doing the same with your mortgage and you'd soon lose your home and be out on the street

One week on from the famous point at st faries and pompey are on the verge of falling to league 1.

COYBCFC!

Ben Haim in the third tier on £36,000 each and every week, with pompey shelling out half a million a week on the payroll, in front of sub 10k crowds against Oldham...

Exciting, isnt it?

I saw a pompey supporting friend this morning - he went on about the £11M pa wage bill, failure of fappt & how unfair on pompey this all is - he then spoke about L1 next season. Are they not hearing what Birch is saying ? Unless new owner comes along, there is no next season.

Yup! :smug: Many times we have moaned that nothing seems to be getting done about their cheating but we've been impatient......

Would you say that league 1 makes their chances of a takeover better, worse, or not relevant. Personally I would have thought worse. The debt remains the same wherever they are, but as a league 1 side there's surely less chance of turning a profit (as if lol) with lower attendances etc.

Patience is required.

Its pounds they need more than points - and Bristol City are creeping towards safety.

They'll hitch up those caravans and move on in their own time, you can never rush an eviction.

Though personally I'm more concerned these days about our own situation and West Ham's goal difference than what the pikeys are up to.

If they raise their performances levels to those against us they could quite easily pick up 3 wins out of 3. They've got Palace at home who have nothing to play for, Derby at home who could be out of the playoff hunt by then, and finally away to Notts Forest who could be safe with nothing to play for.

Even if they somehow manage to avoid relegation, liquidation is still a strong possibility.

Relegated and out of business, survive and out of business - heads they lose, tails they lose.

Donny Chairman on Talksport talking about the referee, another 2 penalties against us today & the third & fourth goals were handball that a blind man could see. Interesting.

First penalty and sending off decisions were truly awful. Temporary and unjust reprieve for the DSBs.
