Pompey Takeover Saga

Please someone ask if we can borrow the $5,000 from the Credit Union to invest in PST, then if we run into a bit of 'personal difficulty' we can repay it at 20p in the pound, over say 5 years.

Done.

Its great that Scott from the trust has taken a day off to get mugged off by Saints fans on the snooze website. He dosent seem to have a clear plan or any credible answers...

his response to the £50m issue... 'its only worth its market value'... forgetting all the secured debt that landlocks the arena until its paid in full.

encouraging an 18 year old to take out a credit card to give the pst £1000!

thinking they can simply terminate the expensive contracts!

Weve had banker, gosport pfc and one or two others, but this is my favourite illustration of how clueless this bid is:

Hi Scott, im all for the buyout. But what about the £16m CVA1, £17m secured Chainrai debt, £3m Gadymack secured debt, £2m tax debt, £10m CSI debt, £2m per month wage bill... surely we need £100m? All that for a stadium thats falling apart, and no other assets...

Thanks Sue but again, TB has said that PFC is only worth what someone will pay for it.

I doubt the good man Chinny and HMRC would agree with that frivilous response

In order to offer shares to the general public, a company must be a public limited company (plc). The key requirements are that the company’s name and memorandum should state that it is a plc, and that it should have an issued share capital of at least £50,000 sterling or its euro equivalent.

If a plc wants to offer shares to the public, it must generally issue a prospectus meeting detailed legal requirements, and will also need to comply with the requirements of any exchange on which the shares are to be traded. The company will need to appoint advisers to handle this complex process.

To be fair, I imagine the idea of it being a "share" is just to make the concept easier to understand for their simpletons. It'll be an IPS co-operative, that's the only way the supporters trust model works at the moment, as far as I'm aware, which is then run by the "one member, one vote" system. There's not a cat in hell's chance they'll be floating as a PLC.

As i said earier, there is too much debt for a fans takeover, unless several wealthy people do it and from some wealthy people i know they don't throw good money away. Infact they seem to be even more careful with money.

It's the thick, poor people who throw money away and although there are alot of thick, poor people live in portsmuff,it's not enough.

God bless HMRC.

toast.

I thought that he had a legal requirement to get the most money for the creditors.

Its a legal requirement to get the best DEAL for creditors which may be be the highest bid - eg the highest on paper my by to offer 20p in te £ now... but a alterantive may offer more over a longer period by having and investment and growth strategy that may be more risk, but offer better poetntial returns... as I understand it.

This Scott chap avoided all of the tough questions. The £5m he hopes to raise, seems to be a 'purchase price' - but he avoided all questions about how he planned to pay wages. His plan hinges on removing the high earners - but he has no explaination about how he plans to offload TBH et al. Why he thinks he will succeed where Birch and Chainrai have failed confuses me

Comment From John Westwood

Can my bell buy a £1000 share?

Funniest one yet.

That was brilliant, as was todays webchat.

More Saints fans asking the important questions than skates, they aint happy with Scottys vague replies - in one fell swoop it looks like he has lost all confidence from them, they have no faith in him.

Incredible that they have just a couple of weeks to raise this fantasy £5 million, no chance in hell. Most people in the country would scoff at the proposal to suddenly magic up a grand in the space of a fortnight, just to give away...

Why don't we all pay the 100 deposit to swell the numbers and get their hopes up and then at the last minute request a refund less the 2.50 handling fee!! ha ha ha WTFILN

Because history proves that they don't mind cheating? ;)

Exactly! They'd have spent the money or shipped it off to the BVI before we had a chance to ask for it back.

there is an old saying on the lines of a kettle watched takes longer to boil.

It seems to me the toaster takes even longer.

I look on here each day and my spirits are raised as I'm reliably informed they are finished, only for my newly raised spirits to be quashed.

Pompey have and always will get away with it, and whilst some say that being relegated from the PL was punishment and the recent -10 also , i would say that the relegation from the PL would never happened in the first place if they had not cheated as they would still be dragging around the depths of the lower divisions. To me they have had little medicine for their years in the spotlight and Wembley visits. I dont hold with, 'let them die slowly, as its more fun' as patently the patient while breathing still has a chance. Put a pillow over their face and finish it off quickly.

It seems TB is as crafty as AA and perhaps feels that any creditors have given up expecting any money and will just shrug their shoulders and take nothing, also I wonder if he thinks that they are not going to take them to court by throwing good money after bad.

Clapham doesn't post enough IMO, we need his insight to TB's moves and where they are likely to go next.Personally i believe that TB has Chanrai in a difficult position and he will in the end get little of his 17m back.

Patience Nick. It's not a case of whether Cheats FC will be liquidated, it's just a case of when. The only things keeping the rotten corpse on life support are the remaining parachute payments. And when/if they finally arrive, I'm sure Chinny et. al. aren't planning to use them to "bring forward" the cesspit of a club. :D

Liquidation will occur a nanosecond after the season ends, or the last parachute payment has been grabbed. Whichever comes first.

The filthy money has dried up to fund the corrupt diseased club, so the only hope for them is for TB can find a group, so utterly clueless and devoid of intelligence, to part with enough of their money to fund TBH, Kitson, Kanu and co., at least long enough for the parachute payments to arrive.

After looking far and wide for these suckers, he realises that the only ones are right on his doorstep.

Sounds like birch is a berk and is a far worse spin doctor than android ! If he's saying that fans should put in 1k that means Obody is interested in buying them . If there were potential suitors he wouldn't come out with this crap

Birch isn't saying any of that. The £1K is an initiative by their supporters trust. Which is clearly doomed to fail, as nobody knows how much the club will cost to buy, how much it will cost to run, who the money will go to, and what you actually end up owning for your money. What an investment!

Things do seemed to have settled down for a bit for them plus a couple of home wins.

At the moment I think they will stay up and find a new owner.

But perhaps the football league will surprise us when the cva is not paid tomorrow.

Don't hold your breath on that one. The FL only have blinkered vision of when P'mouth was the British Empire's major Naval base, and the team was top of the old Division One

Perhaps FL stands for Flexible Lunatics ??

Coventry have hit form just at the right time for them. 6 unbeaten now and have won their last 2.

As for Pompey, it's days like this I wish Cloterill was still in charge and we had the comedic interview to come, with how they dominated the match

even when you have a bad day it's always possible to find something to chuckle about.

I 5-1 think we should look for the positives.

The plucky battling troops got clumsily raped by Burnley today at fortress fratton, everyone else made progress in the relegation battle, and tomorrow the CVA officially fails - but on the cheery side, UnAppy can play pranks on people until lunchtime tomorrow, so it isn't all bad! :)

Pranks like, tell Ben Haim he's due a payrise, or tell Varney it's okay to tell your own supporters to feck off, that sort of thing.

Or perhaps realise that you've been the butt of jokes for several months and it's time to go and work for a proper club.

just checked out the fixtures and pompey are right in the sh!t. :scared:

They need to overhaul both Coventry and Bristol City, which is unfortunate because they still have each other to play, so someone's getting points!...

Coventry have a nice home game against Peterboro next week which if they win would take them onto 41 pts with five to play.

pompey are on 33pts - defeat at St Marys would all but relegate them.

Which is nice.
