Pompey Takeover Saga

Oh dear! Liverpool won't be signing Sam Magri, so no money there either. Oooops.

They wouldn't have made very much from that deal anyway, perhaps around £150k. If the club survives, that deal collapsing will probably have been a blessing in disguise.

It's concerning they admit they will not be paying the existing CVA. Now, if by some miracle they do survive and exit admin with a new CVA, is this not a terrible message for the rest of football? Any club can just take a 10 point hit and write off huge debts. PFC have already done this once. Surely there are bigger penalties for this, or failing to pay a CVA??

Isn't it about time the rules were changed to automatic relegation or out the leagues, even if it starts after PFC?

Failing to honour a CVA should result in a hefty points penalty. I have written to the FL on this point. We all should.

Unlike prior times when cries of 'The money is running out, help!' was intended to hurry up an interested party, this time they are just trying to find ANY party to take them on.

They need millions, they need millions now. If they get them it'll be a miracle.

Sky Sports News "people think of the tatooed man, the songs, crowd and what it means to the south coast" - they could at least do some research!!

'Boro could be their last game. - have we been paid for our tkts yet??

SFA looking into rangers and 86k which they may or not owe to another SPL club... Celtic asked for cash upfront when they played rangers at Celtic park

I just put a seed into their heads

"The administrator could raise 1m by selling 1000 lifetime (20 year) season tickets at £1000 via an escrow account."

It was meant to be a bit of fun.... But it could prolong the thread a bit longer... It. Could even work...

What amazes me is the trust needed to come up with millions but their idea raised £2k which also shows they don't have any bigger plans.

There are no buyers, the challenge to the £17m has gone as quiet as a graveyard. TB has discovered another hole in the empty fuel tank. They can't pack the park and the fans meeting with TB had a lot of empty chairs.

The players are only prepared to risk 25% of their outrageous wages. The stewards are revolting.

TB doesn't want to sell season tickets for next season as there may not be a next season.

It really doesn't look good.

Birch said it was touch and go if they would make the end of season, when they thought they had the £2.2mil parachute money.

Now that's gone, is it too simplistic to say that someone needs to come up with that as a minimum, and that's just to get back to the "touch and go" situation.

The only hope they've got is if a Leon Croch type is willing to give away £2.2 million, or one of Chinny or Gayder works out that keeping them going is in their best interests. Even if that happens they have to get past Birch.

Surley we're reaching the end game now.

Is their final act going to be dodging a St Marys humiliation?

Unlike some I don't specifically wish to see them liquidated, BUT I'd just like them to pay the price for cheating - and the seriousness of the sentence has been in their own hands for two years.

Is that Gaydamak the cup-financing hero, or Gaydamak the bloke responsible for all woes? - I forget which one we have to pretend he is.

I think them liquidating themselves is the kindest thing to wish on them really. It allows them to blow off way over £100 million of debt, money owed to other people, real money... money to you and me as a taxpayer. They show no remorse for this so to wish this on them really is very generous.

They can also shake off Gadymack and Chainrai and leave them with the crumbling wreck of Fratton park to bulldoze and convert to flats - by the sounds of the bleating from the skates they dont want these gentlemen about anymore, so this would also be a result. They are secured and are not going anywhere, and they own all the land and assets to protect them, again liquidation splits these two off from the skates.

Any potential bidders will need to be prepared to make a major investment in the club because the outlook for next season looks challenging unless we can sell some players in the summer.’

Major investment...thats just to pay the players premier league salaries, stave off the health and safety bods from condemming Nottarf, and pay Sasha £6k per week for the car park... all whilst paltry home attendences fail to break even week in week out... and then they can move from major to monster investment to buy the assets back off gaddy and chinny, demolish the lot and rebuild... then the training site, academy, accomodation, offices and so on ... I reckon £200 million cash should cover it. Attractive? No? That is the prce just to catch up with Saints, Reading, Brighton, Millwall, Chelsea, and all others south of the thames... PMSL.

Sope, in my opinion, liquidation is the softest, easiest and kindest outcome for them... the DCFSBs should stop bleating and whining and be greatful they have this option.

Still, really looking forward to CVA payment 1 = Gadymack scooping the whole chuffing lot

I wonder if those skates are still pleased to have shaken off Chinny and AA?!!!

What a wonderful day.

They will be fine. All this is is scare tactics designed to push the price down and get them to sell. Have we learnt nothing from the last few years?

I'm relieved now. The great and knowledgeable Hypo has spoken, and as his predictions of great knowledge, rival those of the toy man, then we can rest assured, that this is indeed the end game for sure.

Can somebody remind me : As an administrator, TB has to run the club within it's means and is personally ( or via PKF ) responsible if it incurs losses during his tenure. It is his OBLIGATION to liquidate an insolvent organisation. Is this not correct ?

Wasn't meant as a question about what it meant Stevie, just felt nice to post it. It's nice that we have been able to claim and embrace the tune, just like the black community with ******, and the homosexual community with queer, bender and gay.

As for Birch's personal liabilities, I believe he would be liable for the losses incurred during Admin if they go pop, just like AA would have been. The difference is that AA knew he was working for Chinny and must have had some understanding with the shark in relation to covering these losses IF AA hadn't been able to keep them (and thus Chinny's hopes of a payday) alive.

I don't think Birch has any such reassurance and therefore will not take the risks that AA did. He's far more likely to put them to sleep than Handy Andy ever was.

Shame.

Thing is Hypo, many on this thread showed / postulated that Sacha & Chinny had their hands on the Parachute Payments.

The PL used the first set to pay the Football Creditors.

Jeez we had a good hundred plus pages on this, the CLUB was never going to get it's hands on them was the consensus. Equally it was a pretty widely held belief that AA stage managed the last admin without a care or thought for the club, where even with the previous CVA it was an insolvent and an insane purchase.

AA simply bought time to get as much of the PP's off the PL as he could for his client(s).

Further "indications" that was all he ever intended were given when CSI came in and paid - NOTHING for the club. All Chinny wanted was the PP's AFTER Sacha had been paid back. CSI were perfect stooges, arrogant, never listened to any advice AND (according to allegations by the Lithunians) crooks without any money of their own so didn't actually CARE about money, only having a sexy Facebook page with people "liking them".

Nobody apart from us nutjobs on here could have thought that was the plan, so no wonder TB is was in a "state of shock" when he came in and found - the cupboard full of UXB's dating back to the War in Angola.

Think TB is beyond scare tactics, he's probably more panicked about finding any cash to suck out for his own fees and avoiding liabilities for PKF all of a sudden.

Wanna buy Pearce? A loan fee of 50k would probably work this afternoon, he'll move for a guarantee of his 75% right now no doubt

does this change your mind?

Mr Birch added: ‘The parachute payments are through to 2014. Pompey is due about £14m. The problem is that we have football creditors. Old football creditors and ones still accruing. Out of that £14m there might be £7 – 10m of football creditors that will have to he paid.’

Trevor Birch, partner at PKF and joint administrator of Portsmouth Football Club, has made the following statement:

“Following our discussions with the Premier League and Football League over the past few days, it has emerged that Portsmouth Football Club is unlikely to receive any further parachute payments or other league funding.

“We had previously stated that there was a real danger of the club running out of cash before the end of the season. The risk of this happening increases substantially without the money from the football authorities. Unless something significant happens, there is a real possibility that we may not be able to fulfil the season’s fixtures.

“One potential issue appears to come from the assignment of £2.2 million of parachute payments that was made by the old company to a previous owner. We have instructed lawyers to challenge this, but the process may take time.

“The club is also still owed nearly £300,000 by the CSI administrators and their lawyers, who are withholding the funds as payment for their work in applying to court for administration. PKF is talking to its lawyers to see if this money can be returned to the club.

“Despite the tremendous support that we’ve received from everyone involved with Portsmouth Football Club, it seems that the club isn’t getting any of the breaks that it needs. The more we uncover, the worse the picture appears to get.

“The only consolation I can give supporters, staff and players at the moment is that my PKF colleagues and I have not given up hope and will continue to do all we can to save the club. But the clock is ticking.

“We are looking at all possible options for raising further revenues in the very short term but we realise that there is only so much that can be realistically achieved. We will update you on the situation as often as we can, but keep in mind that the situation will change on a daily basis

“The local community has certainly risen to the challenge. The attendance at last Saturday’s game against Leeds was one of the highest of the season, a number of fundraising ideas have been proposed and supporters have already raised several thousand pounds to buy tickets for future matches for the local community. That will help.

“Their commitment has been one of the few positives in an otherwise very challenging fortnight. It also gives me and my colleagues even more motivation to do everything in our power to secure the club’s future.

“As you’d expect, several people have got in touch with us since our appointment as administrators and made enquiries about buying the club. We are assessing every case and will make contact with anyone that we believe could be a serious bidder over the next few days.

“Any potential bidders will need to be prepared to make a major investment in the club because the outlook for next season looks challenging unless we can sell some players in the summer.”

PLEASE ALL READ -----This will work 100% We need to work out how the league table will look if we drop out of it as all results-points will be void for teams we have played thus changing the positions of the league. Once we have worked out the clubs that could do with us staying in existence (like west ham as they would lose 6 points if we go) we then go to them and ask for some cash !

Wow just in from work & looks like this could really be IT! Could we really be seeing justice done at last, certainly seems that the chickens are finally coming home to roost!

There would be some poetic justice in all this if the points lost by other clubs were to ensure our promotion.

So whats that elephant in the corner? oh he's just come out to play

A buyer will step in on 2 conditions: 1) BC drops what he is after 2) SG drops what he is after.......................................... one will bring the other but who will move first? Bc will lose, alledgedly, 17 million is he does not. 3 million is better than nothing and a ruined business as Pompey Fans wil ruin him. So BC................... be a man, use your love for Pompey and drop your asking price. That done a buyer will come in within hours. If not. Goodnight Pompey

And If I've read everything right so far today that doesn't include the money owed to Sacha! so at best it means 9.4 mill at worst 12.4 doesn't leave much of a parachute to float down to earth on does it! Shala la la la la la lah! WTFILN
