suewhistle Posted 24 February, 2012 Share Posted 24 February, 2012 "I can firmly put my tail between my legs and back off slightly and not put my foot in it". That whole report explains a lot. There we were giving Appleton a hard time as someone infected by the Pompey bug, but I feel a bit more sympathetic now. That was a difficult admission to make and he deserves some respect for it. Perhaps he should have listened to the Baggies director who advised him not to go. Not sure where it leaves Lumpitt..

trousers Posted 24 February, 2012 Share Posted 24 February, 2012 @pn_neil_allen: Appleton criticises lack of #Pompey communication. Interesting stuff. http://t.co/HnfGB7z0 39 [h=3]pfcbutton[/h] Friday, February 24, 2012 at 10:47 AM Blueshirt I have always suspected DL was a FL mole sent to us to make sure we do not progress .. I suspect no one was informed because having a long term transfer embargo placed on us fron the FL when we were NOT in administration sounds like very unfair practice to me. Would we be the only club in the country that owes clubs money on outstanding transfers?? I very much doubt it. I expect it goes on at every club (doesnt mean it's right, but rules must be the same for everyone). Why else would it have been kept secret - because it was unjust and unfair .. and Lampitt was a mole for the FL all along, gauranteed he will be back working for them before long, to55ers the lot of them. Well done Appy you are our beacon of light, pleased to hear TB is working well with you, this partnership alone makes me feel very positive that we can pull through .. Doctoroncall Posted 24 February, 2012 Share Posted 24 February, 2012 (edited) Haven't seen this posted... The club's business plan' date=' drawn up when Antonov was considered a hugely wealthy owner of substantial banks, contemplates making around £8m in total losses this year, according to the CSI administrator, Andrew Andronikou. Even if Birch can agree a cut-price deal with the club's creditors, including Chainrai, [b']the £8m costs, substantially comprising expensive players' wages, will have to be paid in full[/b]. "The ongoing losses Portsmouth will make for at least a year mean several millions of pounds are needed to save it," Birch acknowledged. "The trust will look to raise substantial money for the right structure, and we are talking to wealthy individuals about ways in which a new community ownership can work in partnership." From here. So a minimum of £8m to buy the club if Chainrai claims can be circumvented and CSI accept the loss. Also at least another few to help run it beyond the usual income. Not to mention the current CVA or issues to gain a new CVA from this administration. Not many hurdles to overcome then. Buyers should be flocking in bashing down Birch's door! damn you pedg! rallyboy Posted 24 February, 2012 Share Posted 24 February, 2012 from my understanding of what Antonov said, if he isn't jailed he is happy to write off the CSI debt, for a return to part ownership of the business. So yes, a trust has to find millions of pounds to invest, and their reward is to go into partnership with the russians.... And they also have to see off Chanrai and AA.... So the likely outcome if a fan trust managed to raise £5M (lot of sponsored caravan washes) is a consortium with the last two owners still pulling the strings - and the child-maimer circling like a vulture. Good business plan. A supporter's buyout just ain't gonna happen without mega-rich fans - and they are few and far between. I don't think many of them have spotted where the decimal point is yet - and in fact if there is a point.

I understand that there is more ups and downs to come until chinny and gayboy are off the seen but the rest of the season will be no fun watching the phew doing a great escape. Anyone any ideas what spanners could be thrown in before then? Depends just how broke they are. Birch seems to be proper administrator unlike AA. He has cut 'office' staff and apparently temporarily reduced players wages by 25%. Will that mean they have enough cash to see them through to the end of the season? If not, expect more loans out like Huseklepp's. And if so it will have to be loans of their reasonable players on reasonable wages or no one will want them -- plus even West Brom won't lend them many more on the cheap to replace any outgoings I suspect Birch himself does not know yet. He will for example be waiting to see what the net effect on income is of his "slashing" £5 off their tickets for the home game tomorrow. Some interesting sums there. I reckon that just about makes sense if they sell the extra 4000 or so tickets to get to capacity. Much less than that , and he'll be making a loss by the reduction. I think he's gamblng on trying to get a real "rally round the club" feel going that will bring benefits in terms of greater attendances at full price later, and maybe other help from the community... tolerance from local creditors etc If they only get say 16 to 18k tomorrow even with 3k Leeds fans there , and then lose, things could get quite interesting again. They’re near the bottom of the academy table but they’ve got players through to their first team – they’ve regularly got three or four lads up with the first team squad on match days. We’re doing nicely in the league and the cup which is great, but the bigger picture is about developing players for your first team. That’s what Portsmouth have done and Andy has done a fantastic job under very difficult circumstances. Ryan Williams is a case in point,” Kit explained. “He obviously did very well for himself down there and now he’s made the move over to Fulham and is playing regularly in our reserves. "He’s [Williams] a player who developed very nicely at Portsmouth and we’re very grateful to them for all the hard work they did with him. Hopefully now we’ll be reaping the rewards of that. Saint Lindford Posted 24 February, 2012 Share Posted 24 February, 2012 Reply from the FL regarding the ticket pricing. Thank you for your email. Football League Regulation 32.2.11 (agreed by our member clubs) states that, ‘Discounts or special promotions (in each case for one match only) made available to supporters of the Home Club must also be made available on a similar basis to visiting supporters provided always that each Club shall be permitted to designate four (4) Matchers per Season as ‘local promotion’ Matches where this Regulation shall be deemed not to apply. Clubs shall notify the Executive of the Matches so designated as and when they are designated.’ Portsmouth has notified the Executive of their offer and it complies with these regulations. Whilst we encourage clubs to be fair with their pricing and where possible make gestures to both home and away clubs, every club has the ability to run four local promotions per season, and as individual businesses, can set their discounts accordingly. This regulation was agreed to and voted for by our member clubs. Thank you for contacting The Football League.
