Pompey Takeover Saga

But apparently they've been applying for one of those doodahs for a couple of weeks now, apparently without success because it was supposed to be about paying their players and it's said that they haven't done that yet.

Previously they were allegedly applying for a validation order to unfreeze their accounts completely. What they claim they were going to apply for today was a very much more limited version just to pay some pressing bills.

I am not sure if the result of these applications are ever made public - would be very interesting to find out if it was granted. Cant find anything at the moment.

Question is why did they need to go to the expense of requesting to order today as they are so sure they will be in admin tomorrow at which point one assumes the accounts are unfrozen??

What's the gut feeling? Will tomorrow be a wonderful day for the thread or bewilderingly depressing? Honestly don't know what to expect. All logic points towards doom, their fans point towards ignorance, so.........?

they will obtain administration and recommence their jiggery pokery all over again. It's Skate FC.

The whinging and whining about the FPPT is winding me up.

If a buyer comes forward in the next 10 minutes and the FL say no you're unsuitable the phew will be doing their nut claiming the FL are killing the club.

They should have gone under 2 years ago. End of.

The FL need to release a statement making it clear that the FPPT is nothing more than a power of veto that they may or may not wish to use. It is the clubs responsibility who they choose to sell to. If a prospective owner is put forward to the FL by the Club for FPPT then they are deemed to be acceptable to the club already and any future dissatisfaction is the problem of the club.

I am getting a warm feeling that things will go really badly for the phew. The quick change in the judge for the hearing tomorrow seems strange....this COULD be a beak that will see through all of AA's dubious accounting and do the honest thing. Oh how I hope so......I think i will have Cheese on mine:)

this is the fella we need

I was thinking more along the lines of general_melchett.jpg

Darling: Sir, my case is very simple. I call my first witness, General Sir Anthony Cecil Hogmaney Melchett.

Darling: General, did you own a lovely, plump, speckily pigeon called Speckled Jim, which you hand reared from a chick and which was your only childhood friend?

Melchett: (hysterical) Yes! (calmer) Yes, I did.

Darling: And did Portsmouth Football Club shoot the aforementioned pigeon?

Melchett: Yes, it did!

Darling: (shouts) Can you see Portsmouth Football Club anywhere in this courtroom?

Melchett: (overwrought, pointing his finger at Andriod) YES, THAT'S THEM!!! THAT'S THE FOOTBALL CLUB!!!!! AAHHHHH AAAAHHHHHH!!!!!

Darling: No more questions, sir.

Melchett: Very good, excellent, first class. Carry on. I therefore have absolutely no hesitation in announcing that the sentence of this court is: that you Portsmouth Football Club be taken from this place and shot to death by shooting tomorrow at dawn. Do you have anything to say?

Lumpitt: Yes, can I have an alarm call, please?

In a way the FL do need to be held responsible, the FPPT is a joke.

Yes, but when you know something is ineffectual (which everyone with an ounce of intelligence has known about the FPPT since the beginning of time) then you can't turn around and blame it for your woes when it bites you on the arse.

That's a bit like going to a zoo when you know that there's a problem with snakes escaping from their snake emporium but then start moaning and groaning at the zoo when you get bitten by a snake on your 3rd visit.

FFS.

Justice Norris instead of Proudman is good news imo. Norris knows the form with Andronikou whilst Proudman seems to have made some surprising judgements, setting precedents in the process. I dont want anyone making an erratic judgement in a clear cut insolvency case.

How unbelievably sweet would it be for Nicola to go to the press and say he is willing to offer PFC 3 SFC Academy players for 1 month FOC.

I say NO!

Show them no mercy, they have got away with it far too long. Give em an inch and they will just take the p*ss again for as long as poss.

Matthew 7

24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.

26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand.27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”

You mean, if somebody were to contact the police and allude to the possibility that there may or may not be some kind of explosive device hidden somewhere on the premises, meaning they would have to evacuate the building while they conducted a thorough, room-by-room search? Yes, that would be extremely unfortunate for the Phew wouldn't it. ;)

If someone contact the cops and told them there was a suspicious looking charcter with wot looks like an explosive device hidden inside a Bell maybe

Agreed. Looks like the High Court isn't going to let AA take the mick this time. I think Lampitt has given up the ghost anyway but it must have been a severe blow to AA to see the case swapped to Justice Norris this afternoon. I bet that's causing great concern as they work into the night tonight!

Seem to remember his mobile number on here a few pages back.. any of our friends abroad fancy phoning him through the night. Wouldn't want him getting too much sleep tonight.

How on earth could a supporters trust buy the club given the huge amount of money it would require? Penny really hasn't a clue.

She has. It's called cynical playing to the gallery: support the no-hope, popular choice, then push out the crocodile tears when that choice is not given a sniff of a chance.

You wait and see.

I highlighted a quote from a BBC article a few pages back, where the Supporters Trust claimed that Andronikou had asked them for £100 million as proof of funds

Or.... is Norris in AA's pocket - he was the one that allowed the Admin application and allowed AA to be appointed, despite HMRC's concern about his independence.

This could all be a stage managed, pre-pack Admin all over again.....

Anyone with an ounce of sense would see the insolvency and send them straight to the WUP hearing.... I just hope this judge has't been re-allocated for any other reason than he knows the case and can act accordingly....

I think Norris oversaw the initial hearing last time and ultimately got countermanded by a different woman judge subsequently at a second hearing.

I could be wrong.

I'm sure others will remember her name.

A biblical truth of epic relevance to the skates. Thank you for this timely reminder:smug:

You're spot on Trousers. I am sure it is just a question of when they get deducted points, rather than if. Think the best thing we can do is to familiarise the fans of Coventry, Donny, Bristol City, Millwall, Ipswich etc with the relevant rules, and get them asking the question...

Millwall are being informed.
