Thedelldays Posted 16 February, 2012 Posted 16 February, 2012 will they actually go bust this time...? will they get more than a 10 point penalty...? will they get away with it for the 3rd time..?
Dalek2003 Posted 16 February, 2012 Posted 16 February, 2012 Good thinking, they could meet their new owner there too! Surely, they could borrow a few spare bedrooms for the night, should they put out an appeal. Having said that, if they get up early they can always get there on time. If they look on google they can find some roads to park on were they don't need to pay for a ticket and walk the last bit.
JackFrost Posted 16 February, 2012 Posted 16 February, 2012 will they actually go bust this time...? will they get more than a 10 point penalty...? will they get away with it for the 3rd time..? No, no and depends on your definition of "get away with it". They'll be granted admin and they ain't going to be liquidated on Monday
Hockey_saint Posted 16 February, 2012 Posted 16 February, 2012 which probably goes to prove that work is the scourge of the posting classes. Someone watched the chase last night
Thedelldays Posted 16 February, 2012 Posted 16 February, 2012 No, no and depends on your definition of "get away with it". They'll be granted admin and they ain't going to be liquidated on Monday so will just get a 10 point penalty....how come they won't get further points deductions ala, bompey?
Dalek2003 Posted 16 February, 2012 Posted 16 February, 2012 will they actually go bust this time...? will they get more than a 10 point penalty...? will they get away with it for the 3rd time..? You would think they will go bust, but it would really shake the football league. There has to be someone who genuinely does go bust, just unfortunate for them that they will be the first. Put it this way, without Marcus I am sure we would have gone and I can't remember many words of comfort from them. I personally, feel sorry for the few decent ones, and there are one or two.

stevegrant Posted 16 February, 2012 Posted 16 February, 2012 I see Appleton's fallen into the "it's not fair on everyone else if we've got a depleted squad, so we should be allowed to sign loads more loan players" trap. We’re getting to the stage where we’re not going to be competitive to the detriment of the division. I wouldn't say that's to the detriment of the division, I'd imagine the likes of Coventry, Doncaster, Nottingham Forest and Millwall will be quite happy to see a limbs-nearly-falling-off starting lineup for the rest of the season.
Saints foreva Posted 16 February, 2012 Posted 16 February, 2012 so will just get a 10 point penalty....how come they won't get further points deductions ala, bompey? 10 point deduction while in League One for entering administration, that relegated them and then a further 17 points deducted for failing to come out of administration with a CVA.
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 16 February, 2012 Posted 16 February, 2012 Surely TCWTB could squeeze `em all in his van Then they can go up in convoy with the "massive" travelling support
Window Cleaner Posted 16 February, 2012 Posted 16 February, 2012 Someone watched the chase last night I did not, I watched Sherlock Holmes....another excellent BBC series.

JackFrost Posted 16 February, 2012 Posted 16 February, 2012 so will just get a 10 point penalty....how come they won't get further points deductions ala, bompey? There's no reason under the current rules for them to do so under current FL rules. Its happened in other leagues (like Dundee I think?) but the FL would have to rewrite their rulebook for multiple admins in so many years. They have history for doing so but under the current people I really can't see it happening.

stevegrant Posted 16 February, 2012 Posted 16 February, 2012 My Cov oppos are chuffing delighted! Coventry aren't looking that useless anymore, especially at home, and of their 7 remaining home games, only one is against a top-half side (Birmingham). The rest are all very winnable (Barnsley, Palace, Pompey, Peterborough, Millwall, Doncaster)
Hockey_saint Posted 16 February, 2012 Posted 16 February, 2012 I did not, I watched Sherlock Holmes....another excellent BBC series. S'alright, the perp who was asked to quote that got it wrong anyhow. I agree about Sherlock Holmes however...not such a fan of Conan-Doyle though for obvious reasons (I bet all the pompey fans are wishing they had world-renowned support like Dickens and Conan-Doyle now
Tokyo-Saint Posted 16 February, 2012 Posted 16 February, 2012 Sir, with respect, you're about 3 pages and 5 hours off the pace :-) Haha It's hard to keep up. I do some work for an hour or so and when I come back they have been locked out of their training ground, are in A & E waiting on a scan on Lawrence's leg, hiring a mini bus using luncheon vouchers to get to the game and being taken over by Dell boy. All of this on top of the usual moaning about having a small squad, being plucky and having the best fans in the world .
Under Weststand Posted 16 February, 2012 Posted 16 February, 2012 So I can't find any news on their bank account being unfrozen. Did they even bother to try? Gregory is just another tyre kicker & has given Comical Andy the smoke screen he needs to show the Courts that he has an investor waiting in the wings, even if its carp! Hope i'm wrong but feels like deja vu, although logically there seems no way out, but whenever has logic & poorsmouth gone hand in hand. I'm going to miss all the fun tomorrow busy until about 4pm.

Under Weststand Posted 16 February, 2012 Posted 16 February, 2012 how can their bank account be unfrozen, not until they actually go into admin anyway. They were talking about applying for a validation order again today weren't they to unfreeze their account?
MOSaint Posted 16 February, 2012 Posted 16 February, 2012 Yes, where are they? Please don't tell me they've wriggled out of it Surely they would have said something if they'd have had good news rather than getting upset that they have 11 players and can't afford scans for lawrence.
Window Cleaner Posted 16 February, 2012 Posted 16 February, 2012 They were talking about applying for a validation order again today weren't they to unfreeze their account? Ahh you'd have to refer that one to my learned friends the insolvency experts here. As far as I've been able to grasp Pompey's bank accounts are blocked because of the winding up order which comes before the courts next Monday. The only way of disposing of whatever cash they actually have before then is to enter administration which will be decided by a different court tomorrow.

It was referenced in one of the news articles that they were going to try for a very specific validation order so they can withdraw a limited amount of money for some pressing bills or something like that.
badgerx16 Posted 16 February, 2012 Posted 16 February, 2012 Sorry but I read that court list as below : COURT 26 Before MR JUSTICE NORRIS Friday, 17 February 2012 At half past 10 INTERIM HEARINGS LIST 1403 of 2012 Portsmouth Football Club (2010) Limited 1403 of 2012 Same So it's Mr Norris not Mrs Proudman.
Katalinic Posted 16 February, 2012 Posted 16 February, 2012 Here is the list for tomorrow in Court 10 (of the Rolls Building) before MRS JUSTICE PROUDMAN. There are a number of cases (10 ?) before the Cheats FC so could it be delayed until the afternoon (?). http://www.justice.gov.uk/guidance/courts-and-tribunals/courts/hearing-lists/list-cause-rolls.htm It appears that this has moved to being heard by Justice Norris, or am I mis-reading?

Not quite. It was reported earlier in the week that they were going to apply for a 'restricted validation order' to release specific funds to pay specific bills this week. That can be applied for before the administration hearing in 'special circumstances'
Appy Posted 16 February, 2012 Posted 16 February, 2012 Forest-Coventry on Saturday. A win from either team and The Skates lose and they will be 3 points adrift.

biondani Posted 16 February, 2012 Posted 16 February, 2012 I can imagine the scene in the high court today. JN: Oi, Proudman please give me that case tomorrow. JP: Why? JN: The tossers lied to me last time and I want to hear what they have to say this time JP: OK JN: Right, let me at them
Katalinic Posted 16 February, 2012 Posted 16 February, 2012 Is that good or bad? Show of hands... Bad news for the Skates as he knows the case background and could therefore be receptive to either rejecting the administration application entirely or any HMRC challenge to Andronikou's appointment. Technically of course they are different companies from the last time he came into contact with PFC but Justice Norris is unlikely to be so naive as to know that to all intents and purposes they are the same.
Window Cleaner Posted 16 February, 2012 Posted 16 February, 2012 Not quite. It was reported earlier in the week that they were going to apply for a 'restricted validation order' to release specific funds to pay specific bills this week. That can be applied for before the administration hearing in 'special circumstances' But apparently they've been applying for one of those doodahs for a couple of weeks now, apparently without success because it was supposed to be about paying their players and it's said that they haven't done that yet.
